First, Ral is canonically aware that he's working for Bolas. At the end of Amonkhet after Bolas defeats the gatewatch he instructs Tezzeret to bring Ral to him, cause Ral's not meeting Bolas' timetables (not working fast enough on whatever it is that Bolas has him working on). Thus he has physically met with and been instructed by Bolas by this point in time. He may well not know, and very likely doesn't, just what Bolas is actually planning though. So it's entirely possible that Ral wouldn't be working for Bolas if he knew the truth, or would be acting to subvert him somehow if he had to work for him.
I remember someone else posting direct quotes from that chapter that said to that point. That Tez has to go talk to Ral because Ral doesnt know who he is working for.
I mostly hate it but I do wonder if there's almost enough of this sort of creature to build a Blasphemous Act deck in Modern yet... It was definitely too fragile to build that deck around just Boros Reckoner but a second redirector might make it...ummm... plausible?

Kate Elliott did awesome with this story and she definitely needs to do Tarkir 2 whenever that happens.
I really hope we see a Naiva and Baishya card similar to Mina and Denn in Tarkir 2, (or possibly a commander set since they will be long dead in Tarkir 2), or maybe even just a Naiva card as she was the main character for this story. Really good ending to the story, I didnt expect them to stay with Ugin but I wonder if Baishya will continue to draw memories from Ugin. I also wonder if we will see little helf-temur/half-Jeskai babies from Naiva and Tae Jin hahaha!
They are suggesting using Leathal Vapors' ability to sac it to skip a turn repeatedly skipping enough turns so that Xantcha kills everyone else.
