Random thought I just had for this:

What with the end of the Bolas storyline, there is likely to be little reason to revisit certain places meaning it is likely to see legendary creatures from these planes (Amonkhet, Kamigawa, etc.).

I could possibly see a deck that included a two- or three-color version of "Hazoret, the God-Survivor," possibly in Boros / Naya colors?

Not sure what they would do with it, but she didn't get a card in WAR, and with the story a return is unlikely but... The possibility to offer a vignette into current life on Amonkhet through a Commander product seems like an opportunity they might take.

It's just regular oil, made from dead dinosaurs, hence how the fountain becomes a Dinosaur creature. Ichor refers to the blood of the gods in Greek mythology, and it's not a stretch at all to imagine that the Sun Empire (which, of course, worships the sun) would think that this strange black liquid they found is similar to that.

How do we know it’s for that and not ichor the wiki saids ichor is a known name for the glistening oil

How do we know? Wizards has directly confirmed it isn't phyrexian related...

I mean... Fountain of Ichor becomes a dino, and the flavor text implies they found oil while digging a well (a common trope for accidentally finding valuable Texas Tea). I'd say it's a bit of a stretch to think this implies an invasion.

Personally, I think an invasion of Ixalan would be horribly misusing the plane. It has so much potential to be like original Zendikar - an adventure plane! (With relics to find, and pirates, and dinosaurs!!) To immediately put Ixalan into a trans-planar war against post-industrial artifact-driven antagonists would be exceptionally poor storytelling, IMO.

Am I the only one who's a little sad that the type-line on The First Sliver isn't "Elder Sliver"?

I'm glad to see the slivers have returned to their Rathi roots, aesthetically speaking.

I can't imagine what this will cost in a foil.

It's not like Slivers have been around forever on Dominaria. They're certainly much younger as a species than dragons on Dominaria or dinosaurs on Ixalan.

Apparently the elder type is given to creatures with a primal aspect of their type, thats why belzenlok was a elder demon even if he was not one of the first demons.

The first sliver could have elder as it is the basis of the whole sliver species

Yep, if this is the basis for the sliver species, it SHOULD have the Elder type, IMO.

I keep wondering about a couple things that appear "out of order" on this. Niv-Mizzet Reborn is a story spotlight from Act 3. In the artwork, you can clearly see Bolas on top of his Bolas's Citadel. OK.

Now, the flavor text on Gateway Plaza appears to be referencing Niv's rebirth (what other parun can be reborn?), and the artwork seemingly shows where the citadel should be, but it looks like it is after all the fighting is over... Oversight or...?

Well not exactly done with ugin I mean commander product could give us a pre spark version of him

As a matter of fact I can speculate a colorless deck for this year since this ugin reduces the cost of colorless spells by 2

I won't disagree there. More than anything I mean if he is not in the plot going forward, a pre-spark Ugin is basically only possible in a supplemental product such as commander since they didn't put him in Core 2019. Basically, there are minimal story reasons to revisit Ugin's past now that he is probably out of the major plot in the future. Simple fact: the less we see Ugin, the less impetus is there to give him another card.

(Granted: Commander was his highest probability for him anyway, and I would primarily have interest in a non-flip card)

Then I realized that keeping him tucked away gives WOTC an easy excuse to re-use the character later. Feels cheap tbh. I hope I'm wrong and that this really is treated as a final act in Bolas's story and they don't bring him back.

Return to Return to Return to Ravnica; The Rebirth of Nicol Bolas, The Reborn (The fifth, and ACTUAL final time!).

On the flip side, if Bolas and Ugin are both trapped forever, that means they never did much with Ugin. Sigh.

That's the most disappointing part of this to me also. Creative didn't really use Ugin for all that much. This also greatly reduces the chances we will get a legendary creature version of a pre-sparked Ugin, since he's effectively being removed from the plot forever.

Oh wow, that RKF Blackblade Reforged is fantastic. I think it's a must have for my big-dumb beater Dakkon Blackblade EDH deck. So much greatness in that.

The timing of these cards with respect to the plot is interesting for being spoiled on the same day.

Despark has the Gem of Becoming visible in the artwork, so it must take place chronologically before Finale of Eternity.

Prison Realm is clearly very near the plot's resolution.

Assuming that Garruk ever shows up again, how will this affect him? Is he now free of the Veil's curse?
I also like how Bolas forgot that he is a dragon
    Asking the real questions.

Also, does this free the Onakke? Seems like there is the need for more malevolent characters with the resolution of Bolas's arc and a super powerful ogre artificer race would do nicely (See Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient).

    Great in Nebuchadnezzar decks.

If only I could find a good wincon for it.

And... Interestingly enough, Gideon Blackblade and Rakdos, the Showstopper have the same artist. That's confirmation enough for me that it is Rakdos giving Gideon a lift.

Those wings in the art do not look like "feathers" to me. The wings look smooth, possibly bat-like or draconic maybe.

I mean, compare to Rakdos, the Showstopper. I would say the wings and spikes might fit fairly well.
