Charge Leader Standard4
Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gains +2/+2 and "when this creature attacks, attacking creatures gain trample until end of turn".
Equip 3
Equip Commander 1
With the snow mechanic being added to Modern Horizons more as an afterthought than an actual mechanic, I would not expect them to put Snow lands and Snow permanents in Standard anytime soon.
I mean, if they already had in mind a snow-themed plane after War of the Spark, why bother even adding snow to MH1?
Savage Defense1RG
Enchantment
Whenever one or more creatures attack you or a planeswalker you control, you may have up to one target creature you control fight target attacking creature.
Veran, Tax Collector2WU
Legendary Creature - Human Advisor
Whenever an opponent draws a card, create a Treasure token unless that player pays 2.
Sacrifice a Treasure token, T: the next spell you cast can be cast as though it had flash. "This tax will finance swift retribution."
1/4
Next: a monocolor legendary creature similar to the Core 2020 cycle, but for small iconic creatures (like elf, goblin or soldier) instead of the big ones.
Of the members of this adventuring party that was killed by dragons, all have names thatbeginwith "T", except one. And that's setting off my OCD a little.
You forgot Vial of Dragonfire with a quote by Kunh Mei (not beginning with T).
Now has your OCD gone better or worse?
Worse! Kunh Mei doesn't even have an epithet or descriptor or anything. And they weren't killed by dragons, just their own incompetence in handling dragon-related items. The pattern is completely ruined.
You get it all wrong. The "T. the ..." characters are all player characters of the same player who usually gets the party int trouble and themselves killed. It's only that one time the party took on that legendary dragon that the usual competence of the party leader couldn't prevent a TPK, so the pattern makes perfect sense.
When I read the first two of those flavour texts I thought those could as well be actual quotes from a real life D&D campaign.
They look absolutely amazing, but good God, they couldn't have picked like... good and playable cards? Teferi? Narset? Karn? Anything? What a disappointment.
To be fair, these collections aren't exactly meant for competitive players - they're meant for collectors.
Collectible bad cards don't hold value. Just go look at many of the past SDCC cards. The ones that see play are astronomical. The ones that don't are $20-30.
until you try to buy or sell something, that something is worth exactly 0$ and most collector would never sell their collectibles. So, what does it matter if these cards are worth money or not on the secondary market? (unless you see them as an "investment" instead of a collectible, of course).
Dawning Angel Well... Domri just reincarnated as an angel on another plane, it seems.
Just a bad, random androgynous angel with horrible hairstyle. Yet this begs the question:When are they going to give us our first female demon?
No, Lady Orca does not count! She was errataed into one!
It is not like they have to make a succubus (too spicy for current year MtG) but something like Sheoldred would pass for a demon without a second glance if you didn't know she was a phyrexian praetor.
Whelp, here are all the missing cards https://www.mtgpics.com/set_checklist?set=308
nothing extremely exciting apart may be Titanic Growth getting an extension to its lifespan, which is quite nice I suppose.

... Aaaand they are missing all the additional cards after 280...
We know most of them, but at the moment there are some egregious holes in the lineup:
A list of the numbers still missing from the known cards
- 302 to 306
- 308
- 309
- 311 to 316
- 318 to 320
- 322
- 335 EDIT: Shivan Dragon might fit here
- 336 EDIT: Shock might fit here
- 339 to 431
That's 22 cards still unknown, but standard legal for another year.
When I have time I'll check if the empty spaces match with the extra cards in the spellslinger decks and/or unlisted cards in the planeswalker's decks.
EDIT2: even by putting the cards from the planeswalkers decks in as if they were all M20 reprints either I'm missing things or the cards don't fit in the crunch. Then I realized: We are still missing the welcome decks!
If you mean to get a loop while casting Torgaar, no.
You sacrifice the angels as part of the cost and the token-making effect of the bishop only triggers when Torgaar is placed on the stack after you finished to pay the cost for the spell and the alternative or additional costs connected.
If you want to loop the angels you need a free sacrifical outlet (in standard there are none currently). In other formats altar of dementia (for milling your opponent) or Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar to get infinite mana could be some choices, as well as Viscera Seer to scry your entire library 1 card at a time.
As for the bishop alone, it almost triggers resplendent angel, you just need an extra life. Not a combo, but a nice synergy. Arcane Adaptation is a cheaper way to turn your spirit tokens into angels (1/1 flying spirit angels), but will leave standard in 3 months.
EDIT: thinking about it, there is a way in standard to have a loop for this, but it is so far fetched and christmas-landy that if actally manage to make it work you deserve a prize. Bishop of Wings + Divine Visitation + Arcane Adaptation (choose Goblin) + Skirk Prospector to sacrifice your angel goblin tokens and get R for each one.
Is that General Tazri in the art ? Hasn't she had it bad enough as is ?
Yep, she seems to be General Tazri
Tanned/reddish skin, long hair, luminous halo at the neck and the style of the armour matches.
I'm assuming that is what happened in the alternate future Kozilek made her experience, as far as I remember she survived the killing of the two titans.
If you want to jump back into standard, this is probably one of the worst times: 3 months from now almost half of the standard legal cards are going to rotate out, so if you build a deck from those, you are not going to use it for long and if one of your issues is not having that much of a disposable income (very relatable, as I'm in the same boat) spending it on cards that you will use 3 months tops and won't be able to sell away, is not a good investment.
As some already suggested, commander might be a way to play magic without havint the monetary pressure of rotations and generally if the best choice for a card is too expensive you can settle for second or third best without too many issues.
This said, it really depends on the gaming environment, if even in commander you get playgroups made of "I spent $5000+ on my deck, I should have won all the games, How could I lose to your $50 deck? You should have conceded the game! REEEEE!" kind of ********s, not even commander might salvage your gaming experience. Or if you are not interested in a singleton format centered around a legendary creature of your choice.
Pauper is another choice, by definition, pauper decks are much more budget oriented and the format is non-rotating. But even there, your enjoyment is dpendent on the playgroup.
