Hi, I am building a pauper style deck, and was wondering about the interaction between Demonic Appetite and Aura Finesse. I know that demonic says enchant creature you control, but I was wondering if I could use Aura finesse to change demonic to an opponents creature?
For example, I enchant my own creature with demonic appetite, swing, then use aura finesse to switch it to my opponents creature, since aura finesse only says target creature.
Let's say my opponent takes my creature with Mind Control and then equips that creature with Behemoth Sledge. When I destroy his Mind Control and retain my creature, does it still have the sledge equipped? Also, can he move the sledge as normal? Can I move the sledge?
If I equip a creature with Magebane Armor, then later equip it with, say, Neurok Hoversail, will the creature have flying?
As stated by previous posters, with a little more detail. Both flying and lose flying apply in Layer 6, conveniently known as the abilities layer. Because it is equipment, the effects are applied according to the timestamp of when they were equipped. So as long as you equip the hoversail after you equip the magebane, it will have flying.
If you already had hoversail equipped and wanted to give it a later timestamp you would need to equip it to something else, and then reequip it.
I am building a fun/casual deck with Brion Stoutarm as my sort of finisher. Many of those in my play group are rules sticklers, so I had a few questions on his ability.
1. Can my opponents respond to me paying costs before the ability triggers?
(Ex. if I tap Brion, but haven't sacrificed a creature yet, can they path Brion or my only other creature and prevent me from activating the ability?)
2. Once the ability is on the stack, if Brion is killed or RFG'ed, does the damage still hit? Would he still have lifelink?
I had a creature with power 20 and one with power 11. I put the trigger on the stack, asked my opponent if it resolved, and he said yes.
I put the counters on my guys, and then gained 10 life confirming with "ok so I am at 27 now?" He says yes and marks the change.
Then I say, "ok I win the game", and he attempts to kill my 20 power guy to prevent me from winning the game.
I think the ability is in the middle of resolving, and thus he cant kill my guy until we complete all steps. He thinks he can. Who is correct?
Side note: Will Mayael's Aria trigger if I don't have a guy with 5 power right away. Say if I had a Chameleon Colossus and no other creatures, can I put the trigger on the stack and then pump the colossus to get my counter?
So it is my understanding that Chameleon Colossus will now read. 2GG: Chameleon Colossus gets +X/+X until the beginning of the end step, where X is its power.
So during the end step, can I pump the colossus, then after my untap, pump him some more?
I am pretty sure this works, but at FNM there was some dispute.
As a smaller question, would there be time to untap, and then pump him before the beginning of upkeep effects trigger? For example, before Mayael's Aria?
Imagine the following scenario. I have Sanguine Bond in play and I have two Tainted Sigil in play, and then Cloudthresher gets evoked. It resolves and each player takes 2 damage.
Once the damage has resolved I sacrifice one of my Tainted Sigils. I gain 4 life and my opponent loses 4 life.
Then I crack my second Tainted Sigil. Since he has now taken a total of 6 damage, and I have taken 2 damage and then gained 4 life, do I gain 8 life, 6 life or 4 life?
I can't speak to the "generally accepted deck" because mine is slightly different from both versions. However, I maindeck 2 collosus and 2 cloudthresher along with the 4 hordes. That is way plenty of finishers. They dont really need to be bigger than that. If I find I am having trouble finishing, I usually side out a few finishers for some different ones. For example supreme exemplar if the guy has no flying defense. I find that's the card I go and get the most often of my finishers. Otherwise there is a lot of black in my games at least and the collosi more than do the job especially with the amount of mana we can generate.
I don't think fae coming back is a terrible thing for this deck. With fae returning in force, the token decks will pop back up in an attempt to crush the fae. This deck does very well against tokens. While fae is a tough matchup, it also supplies us with easier matchups in response. As far as swans goes, its pretty much disruption with mournwhelk, side in wispmares to destroy the assault, and crib swap away the swans. Make sure they don't get both pieces out before you can respond and you will be fine.
Suppose the attacker is a 3/2 wither, whereas before you could stack it up and kill them all with a fallout later, now you have your choice of killing one, or fallouting early, and killing your own guy. Seems all the sweepers have been nerfed as well.
Been playing a deck very similar to Pride's. I have a few more ghitu because I can't find treetop around here, and I'm playing flame javs instead of the puncture blast.
Also did fairly well at FNM this week. When the deck is matched up against the meta, it wins most of the time. I am having trouble with non-meta decks however. I lost twice at FNM, both times to guys playing mono green. Just wondering if anyone has any idea on how to get a little bit of spot removal in the deck, as once primalcrux hit play, it was over.
As long as Seedcradle came into play before sigil captain, it's P/T will be 7/7. So you get 7 tokens.
As far as the tokens p/t is concerned, they come into play with boosted stats, so they will not trigger the sigil captain. However, they will all get the boosts, so as far as I can tell, you will get 7 7/7s.
For example, I enchant my own creature with demonic appetite, swing, then use aura finesse to switch it to my opponents creature, since aura finesse only says target creature.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys

You have two effects happening simultaneously, and so you get to choose the order they happen in. Thus, you can choose to equip them in any order.

Whenever you gain life, target opponent loses that much life.
Tainted Sigil Cloudthresher

If that works, would I be able to do 3 damage, or just 1 when it reappears?
