I don't see them bolting it after you equip the Livewire. Can't see it being efficient enough to fit into standard. Previous use of equipment in standard has usually been synergistic (Basilisk Collar), beat face hammer (Loxodon Warhammer, Behemoth Sledge), or a mistake (Umezawa's Jitte).
Hey Guys, I'm prepping a deck for FNM this week, and I still haven't gotten my 2 Primeval Titans or 2 AoZ's in the mail yet, so I basically have this list:
2 Chandra Nalaar
3 Cunning Sparkmage
4 Oracle of Mul Daya
3 Summoning Trap
2 Earthquake
1 Kozilek
I'm up in the air as to what to put in place of 2 AoZ and 2 PT's. I'm thinking, scratch the 4 SGC's, run 4 Inferno Titans, throw in Kozilek, and 3 summoning traps. To me, that makes it more of an mid-end game aggro deck, but at this point my options are limited without those 4 cards.
What are your guys's thoughts on how I should finish the decklist?
I'm pretty sure the deck doesn't work with Primeval Titan, but if you're going to run the deck without the remaining cards, I'd run 4 Bloodbraid Elf.
If anyone's taken a look at the recent PTQ in Japan, Primeval Titan's already solidified his worth. After playing over 20 games with a version of the Titan Ramp deck with Valakut, Primeval truly is the kill or be killed play of a game. The one Titan that has surprised me the most is:
Good god he's a beast. He's never a dead drop, being a lightning bolt that has to be dealt with or killing a creature (or in the case of Mythic, 2 or 3). So many times have I played him late game when the Primeval's in the grave and so is their removal. He only needs on swing, usually hitting for anywhere from 12-15 damage in one swing. I haven't lost a single game where I've resolved two. The only reason for his low price is because he was eclipsed by Grave Titan and Primeval Titan. He's either in the same tier, or very slightly below them.
Situation: I have two Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, two forests, and 4 mountains. I also have a Khalni Heart Expedition with three counters on it. I sacrifice it and place two mountains into play under my control. As per rulings I've heard about Warp World, I should have 4 cases of Valakut activations, 2 per mountain as they recognize each other and themselves as both the 6th.
Is this situation correct? Or do I only have 1 case of 2 activations by a Valakut from 1 mountain being the 6th?
Having played Mono-Green Elfdrazi in an FNM and another standard tournament, the five cards from the set that have been true to their price (from what I've seen/played against) are:
1. Grave Titan: Swings once and it usually spells game, bar a wrath effect next turn.
2. Fauna Shaman: The deck has to be built around it, but discarding Vengevine to find a Sovereigns of Alara or another Vengevine is pretty damn good for mythic. Extremely efficient toolbox.
3. Primeval Titan: The Valakut deck is unstable but capable of huge blowouts. I personally use it to find two Tectonic Edge or Oran Rief the Vastwood. Can't say the price will stay, but the card isn't all hype.
4. Brittle Effigy: Mono-Green/Blue's saving grace. Even in white decks I can see it sideboard to deal with Malakir Bloodwitch.
5. Obstinate Baloth: I've sideboarded it in against any deck that plays red (aka. Jund and RDW). It's never a bad card, be it top deck or in hand.
I personally feel that splashing another color isn't necessary and find it best to keep a manabase as simple as possible.
Even when running 4 Llanowar Elves, 4 Sylvan Ranger, 4 Elvish Archdruid, 4 Mul Daya Channelers, and 3 Primeval Titan, 22 lands is the lowest I've been able to consistently hit land drops. The deck only really works at around 4 lands.
The deck's main goal is to abuse Realms Uncharted through Knight of the Reliquary, Grim Discovery, and the manlands. Wall of Omens and Oust stall until Knight of the Reliquary and either Emeria Angel or Ob Nixilis manage to stick and win. Behemoth Sledge is the deck's primary lifegain and also serves as a finisher by applying it to Ob Nixilis, Emeria Angel, Knight, or even a Bird Token. I'm currently testing Hyena Umbra as a way to protect Knights or even my finishers.
Realms Uncharted choices: Mana fixing = Fetchland of color, terramorphic, basic land of color, manland (regardless of the two choices, you get the color you want)
Man lands = Stirring Wildwood, Gargoyle Castle, land, land (assumes grim discovery to abuse)
Protected attacker (sejiri steppe with grim discovery, swinging with a large knight, ob, or equipped behemoth sledge creature)
I was told by our store's tournament organizer that they were given as Planeswalker loyalty counters. A small bag of about 50 was given out amongst the players. It was for the Zendikar Games Day.
I'd drop the Captain of the Watch to 2x and make the Hookmaster 4. Your mana curve will be really tough after popping a few of those fetches, and drawing two Captains will spell lose game. Other than that, looks solid.
I'd take a look at Fafner if you enjoyed Neon Genesis Evangelion. Similar in that it's a mecha action psychological thriller thing, but don't expect it to be NGE.
Most pressing issue, however, is to check out Baccano!. Short 13 episodes, but amazing actions scenes and the fantasy element is done very well despite being set in the late 1930's in America. Animation is top class, with characters and plot line being well thought out. Only caveat is that it starts a little slow during the first and second episodes.
For example: Back sleeve is Holographic, (back) holographic borders with non-holographic art in the center, artwork, etc.

Inferno Titan.

Edit: Ah, in any case, thank you for the clear and concise responses. Much appreciated.

I love Primeval Titan just because playing him T3 solidifies your hand for the rest of the game.

T1: Forest, Mana Dork
T2: Forest, Leatherback Baloth
T3: Forest, Garruk Wildspeaker, [insert 2 drop]
is not nearly as impressive as
T1: Forest, Llanowar Elves
T2: Forest, Elvish Archdruid
T3: Forest, Garruk Wildspeaker, Untap 2 Lands, Nissa Revane into Nissa's Chosen
Sphinx of Lost Truths should be Sphinx of Steel Wind
4 Wall of Omens
4 Knight of the Reliquary
4 Emeria Angel
2 Ob Nixilis, the Fallen
3 Rampant Growth
4 Grim Discovery
2 Oust
2 Oblivion Ring
2 Hyena Umbra
2 Behemoth Sledge
2 Gargoyle Castle
3 Marsh Flats
2 Verdant Catacombs
2 Terramorphic Expanse
4 Forest
1 Sejiri Steppe
3 Plains
3 Swamp
