So they recently add this feature to the game where you can use your creatures to attack another player's planeswalkers. This new feature will allow you to interact with planeswalkers in an obvious and simple way with cards you should already be playing.
On a serious note, they did alter a number of uncommons, rares and even a few commons to specifically answer planeswalkers. There is a lot of paper in the format to answer the rocks. Planeswalkers are showing up more than ever because there are more than ever but they are far from dominating.
Of course you could attack their PWs, but that assumes they have no creatures to block. And, of course, while you are attacking their PWs, you have spared their player from taking any damage, while you, with no PWs, aw taking blunt trauma to your player and moving you closer to death. Just having to deal with PWs and attacking them instead of their player IS part of their dominating factors.
I will take a look around for those Tier 1 anti-planeswalker decks. I see more than enough Tier 1 decks with planeswalkers o plenty.
I get that they obviously wanted to dump a ton of Planeswalkers into the game with WAR. What they forgot was to add in just as many opportunities for anti-Planeswalker options - something like Gates Ablaze, or Cry the Carnium, or Cleansing Nova that targets Planeswalkers. Basically Planeswalker wiping spells, just as easy to attain and similar cost to play as the Planeswalkers themselves. Cards that deactivate Planeswalker abilities. Some "paper" to the "rock" that are Planeswalkers in this rock-paper-scissors game. I mean, PWs completely unbalance the game as it is. Its like having another opponent, but comes with inate abilities AND the ability to cast spells without spending mana. Did WotC playtest any of this at all?
Stalling is rude. If winning means that much to you, you should probably buy a better deck. No shame in buying into something you really enjoy and spend a lot of time on, even if its just digital.
It is kind of a catch-22. I agree it might be worth buying into something, but I need to evaluate the game first, and I cant without a competitive deck or 2. Having super-uber-elite decks to play against rookies like me is also rude, yet the game doesn't provide a filtering system to have the guys with the pimped out decks to play against the other guys with pimped out decks and the rookies play against the rookies.
I'm sorry if stalling is an issue for you. Its nothing personal. I only need my 15 wins per day. Just be patient. You will win the game shortly. Just accept it. If you can't, just concede and move on. it will get me to my 15 wins that much faster and you wont see me for the rest of the day.
If you feel like this about a game, you should probably find something else to play...
Maybe I didn't word it right. What I mean is, to play the game, you need the cards. I'm not going to actually spend money on this game, so I have to farm each day for the gold to get packs to get cards and wildcards. While I am doing that, presumable for a long time, I have to try and be unemotional about the outcome of each game. I am going to keep running into people with pimped out decks, all the sweet cards and such. I just try to ignore all that, lose or hit concede and move on, and remember why I am doing it, to get the cards to one day have competitive decks. Its not about each game. its about the long term strategy. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming. Yes, its a game, but I'm not really playing it yet, because I dont have all the "game pieces". I'm "working" to "buy" the necessary cards to eventually get to play.
Stalling is a way to transfer the stress of being matched with someone who obvious has been playing since beta and also spent $5000 on the game, has 4 of every tier 1 mythics, dual lands, everything. In addition, getting matched with decks specifically chosen by the match maker to screw you over, as well as getting land raped. It makes me feel better to make the other guy have to pay for his win with a little waiting while I go off and make some coffee. And hell, sometimes they concede over frustration.
I don't mind the matchmaking idea, but it really needs to be based on full collection level. People with a boatload of Rares and Mythic Rares have obviously been playing forever, investing tons of money or both. They should be matched up against similar players. F2P noobs like me with few rares/mythics should also be matched up in kind.
Having power players play novices like me creates match-ups which are just frustrating for us peasants and not challenging for the power players.
They may think the way they are doing it will "force" players to invest money in the game, but, for me, that is not the way it works. Before I invest, I evaluate the game to see how well it is designed. If I see Pay-to-win aspects, or unbalanced matchmaking or broken random deck generation, that becomes a "hard-no" from my wallet. WotC - if you want my money, don't break your games.
I see the same thing constantly. it is like the random generator is not random at all. More like it is designed to screw you or your opponent or both of you over. I just look at this game as follows:
I am a noob. I have nowhere close to the right cards in the right volume to be competitive. To get there, I need to farm. Play every day, earn decks, earn wildcards, maybe get some lucky randoms, and do this over and over again, every day. So, to me, its not a fun activity. Its a job. Nothing personal. I try not to get pissed, but i still do. take a break, and then go back.
So, just to clarify, if it was not a singleton event but a sealed pack event, you could whip out a PP deck out of your pocket because the PP card rules override the "sealed pack event" rule?
I am very new to MTG, but I don't get how it is legal in this specific event. I understand, in general battles, the card says you can use as many PP cards as you like, but this event is specifically overriding that card text.

a 6 cost artifact is really not a balancing factor.
