MTG Salvation

Hi, I've been playing magic for a while but I usually stay within red and green decks, but recently I have been hoping to expand and i was thinking of a bant deck idea. I was thinking of using white as a way to gain life and get tokens out, green for big creatures and +x/+x spells, and blue for counter to keep me alive long enough to get the tokens and big creatures out. Does this sound like a good idea or should I try something else? Thanks!
