After building a Kess deck with the typical Doomsday shenanigans, I thought there has to be another way to build a Grixis spells deck.
So after some thinking I thought of combining Vial Smasher the Fierce and Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist with big spells and ritual-esque spells.
What about putting in Eldrazi Monument to add the flying. While not as powerful as Coat of Arms, it does offer Flying and indestructable.
From playing a Krenko deck myself, I've found that I'm not attacking that much and more combo-ing out or winning with Burn at the Stake. Whilst monument is a great card and indestructible is nothing to sneeze at, it's more suited in decks that favor going wide and attacking (with cards like Triumph of the Hordes). But by all means put in a Krenko deck and smack people with it, it's still a great card!
What are your thoughts on this card in 99 for Krenko?
He's 100% going to have a place in the deck, I just don't know where yet. A second Boggart Shenanigans that can hit creatures is too good to pass up. The second ability is just icing, a nice mana sink if needed.
I'm not sure what he'll be replacing yet, though, but I will by the time the set comes out. Cheering Fanatic is a potential cut. It's less useful than it first appeared. I've been eyeing Blood Moon to be cut for a while, too. It doesn't do much but piss off the table even more and once in a blue moon make Mountainwalk more useful. Pashalik Mons is another potential win-con in the deck, which takes priority.
Yeah I thought of Boggart Shenanigans when I saw his trigger. I actually haven't used Cheering Fanatic ever look useful but generally I'd rather play something else. I like Blood Moon as a tax-y effect, but I can see your point of it being hated of the table asap.
Also kudo's for you sir! I have most of the cards myself (oh Cavern of Souls why aret thou so expensive) and I really love play Krenko!
Damn I just recently started posting here, but I've gotten so much information from here. I absolutely will join the new forum! The atmosphere here is so good and I hope it will carry over to the new forum.
It's bittersweet MTGS is stopping, but after reading the posts I'm looking forward to a new chapter!
Thank you to MTGS staff and Good luck to the people building a new EDH forum!
Throes of Chaos looks fun, might give it a shot if I acquire one.
Timetwister not in my budget range/Time Spiral and Time Reversal are cards that I haven't considerd yet. But they could easily get a slot in this deck. Same goes for for extra turn spells, I might add I might not.
A while ago I asked in the threadUnconventional Spellsinger what the more unconventional spellslinger commander are. Arjun, the Shifting Flame was one of them and since I have a foil Possibility Storm sitting in a binder, so I thought let's make a deck based on those cards. And here's is the current version of this deck:
I tend to cycle through decks quite often. Per example I finally rebuilt my Riku deck after switching it from Yasova and before that it's been Surrak, Animar and Wanderer. Same goes for my gruul deck it was Ruric Thar and Angry Omnath and now it's Wort. Sometimes I like the idea of a deck and start making a list/deck, after a some plays in my group they feel lackluster. Besides being lackluster I have a rule that I don't to many EDH decks whilst I have plenty enough (12 decks at the moment) and if I want to built something I have to break one apart. Currently working on a Sai deck but I might build myself another spellslinger deck, since I love playing many spells, so now the debate is what to break apart.
There are a few decks that I won't break apart due the fun/nostalgia factor.
The worst is when you hype yourself up for it, buy the cards, put it together and then say "well crap why the hell did I buy this crap?"
Oh yeah, that has happened alot to me. OH MY GOSH I NEED TO BUILD THIS, build the deck turns out to be a dud. Worst Feeling Ever!

They actually do that? I mean I really really dislike their 'look' and 'style', consider my Jimmy's rustled
A Blood Artist-esque trigger seems very good with Goblin Bombarbement and Boggart Shenanigans.
His activated ability:3R and saccing and netting a goblin in the proces, isn't to bad either.

The general idea is obviously to cast as many spells you can in a turn, which in turn makes me draw many cards. At the moment I have a few wincons:
Anywho how do you guys like this list? Any suggestions?
Cheers!
