There is a difference between a creature being dealt lethal damage and having its toughness lowered to 0. In the example you gave, your creature would not die, as it is not destroyed by lethal damage. The rules state "02.12b A permanent with indestructible can’t be destroyed. Such permanents aren’t destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the state-based action that checks for lethal damage (see rule 704.5g).
Now consider this example. I play last gasp and target your indestructible 3/3 creature. Its toughness is lowered to 0, and it is moved to the graveyard. I did not deal it any damage, but it's toughness was lowered to 0. The rules state "704.5f If a creature has toughness 0 or less, it’s put into its owner’s graveyard. Regeneration can’t replace this event."
I recently created a commander deck that includes Apex Altisaur. From my understanding, between its enter the battlefield trigger and enrage trigger, it has to keep fighting until it dies. Is this how the card works? Or is the enrage trigger optional? Can someone point me to a rule that answers this?
Compare Tragic Slip with Mnemonic Betrayal. When Mnemonic Betrayal resolves—
all cards "from all opponents' graveyards" are exiled, and a delayed triggered ability is set up that returns those cards that "remain exiled" to their owners' graveyards at a later time, and
Mnemonic Betrayal itself is exiled.
So what you're saying is, for a card to have an effect with a delayed trigger that activates at the end of the turn, it must say "at the beginning of the next end step." Do I understand correctly?
Can someone clear this up for me? My friend says the card Tragic Slip always resolves at the end of the turn, no matter when it was cast. I know the rules say cards resolves on the stack after the player casts it and all other players pass priority, but is there a special exception for this card?
I also understand that morbid checks to see if a creature has died when Tragic Slip resolves and not when it is cast. This question is on whether or not the card resolves like a normal instant or if it only resolves at the end of the turn.
