As a traditional storm player, this variant looks sweet. I've watched some yt gameplays and at first I thought the deck will be a bit like the storm with 0 mana artifacts and equipments, but it looked way better even when the pilot had to dig a lot (probably due to having only 1 grapeshot) until killing the opponent. Going off T2 would be nice, but how consistent is that? Dodging Narset is nice, but is it worth being more 'glass-cannon'-ish?
I might be wrong, but this seems to be the same kind of effect like on standard cards with wording like 'whenever a creature/land/artifact becomes tapped'. So in my opinion this works everytime any permanent becomes tapped (including attacking creatures, tapping lands for mana or using activated abilities that require tapping)
Seeing planeswalkers such as Vraska downgraded to UC, I wonder which ones (apart from the Gatewatch and Bolas) will be printed on R and MR. UC walkers are kind of okay, but the relation to some of the characters makes it difficult to digest the weaker cards (I don't mind Tibalt and Ob that much, but Vraska? c'mon). So far, the set seems interesting enough, but I'm waiting for the bombs.
I mean sure, I didn't expect uncommon walker to be OP, maybe it's just my sentiment to Vraska mourning being moved down to UC Amass seems interesting as a mechanic, even if it will end up in my casual decks.
Well, I hate to be *that* guy, but Vraska and Ajani are not too impressive to me. Tez looks okay. Of course, I'll wait for the rest of the cards over time, because I'm not going to bash the set based on those initial reveals
Snap sounds nice, I was just wondering whether there is something else to modify apart from switching to better cantrips like Ponder or Preordain with Brainstorm.
I would like to modify it to be more broken at kitchen table magic, but I will not be using any ridiculously expensive vintage cards, but I was thinking about throwing in Brainstorm for filtering or Brain Freeze as a wincon. Can anyone suggest some additions to make the deck more consistent and 'unfun'? Maybe switch to Mind's Desire with Cloud of Faeries?
I'm running a standard UR fetchless gifts storm list:
4 Goblin Electromancer
1 Remand
2 Grapeshot
4 Gifts Ungiven
4 Pyretic Ritual
4 Desperate Ritual
4 Manamorphose
2 Past in flames
4 Opt
4 Sleight of hand
4 Serum Visions
1 Noxious Revival
1 Unsubstantiate
