This cube has been years in the making. I've kept it within a playgroup for several iterations and now I'm ready for the next level.
Behold the Graveyard cube.
A couple of notes about this cube
It is ridiculously underpowered
It's meant to be slow
Decks that are drafted should be highly synergistic
The cards work amazingly well with each other, it's almost like drafting an EDH deck.
I've come across several problems and would like some help. The cube itself is getting stale, it requires a little more interaction pieces instead of all the engine pieces. I would like to have White and Green play a little more role into this. Any suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated.
Need some help, I have a semi decent idea going on here, I just wanted to know what more I could be doing. This deck takes advantage of Gisela's second ability, instead of bashing in, she'll have a lot of support and protection and slowly grind ALL of the players out of the game via a bunch of little damage. Includes a small Sunforger package!
This deck was inspired by a pet Standard deck, the interaction between [CARD]ManaBarbs
[/CARD] and [CARD]Battletide Alchemist
[/CARD] was so much fun, I made it into a EDH deck! Small things include using prevention and Gisela to keep Boros Reckonerish creatures alive while pinging people!
So far I have a lot of unrefined ideas, so I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out with some ideas! I just wanted to know if there were any other synergies Im missing.
Goal of the deck is to land some pain effects on the board, and as you watch the world burn from behind your protection, your opponents should be too worried trying to stabilize. Don't be a fool though, you're going to be a quick target. Aim for your recursion and try to protect yourself with your Sunforger package
Notes:
- Pariah's perfect target is Stuffy Doll
- Battletide Alchemist is stronger than it looks, give it a try
- Purify is pure gold
- Scroll Rack and Land tax/Weather Wayfarer is your main draw Engine.
- Well of Lost Dreams is also in here, but there are about 6ish cards in here that gains you life, watch out for them. Of all of them Resplendent Mentor should be the one to target
- Solitary Confinement and Land Tax plays well together
- If you can set this up, multiple Boros Reckoners effects, Bloodfire or Blasphamous act, and Boros Charm. Woot.
- Everything SHOULD work with Gisela, though I do admit she's a little costly to play, so this deck was built to operate without her. (More prevention effects than there should, as that is your entire game plan)
As a NYC resident, my guess is that space enough for a GP is very hard to come by in the city, and when it is its expensive and booked out for a year+.
I was talking to an L2 judge from the area when we were in GP Boston about the same thing. Apparently it costs an arm and a leg to find a convention hall of a decent size that's somewhere in the city (aka not Jersey)
Yah, it would be, except I'd have to read like xxx pages worth of stuff... I'll be better off just hanging around waiting for a basic game (thanks for the heads up) to start.
What is the quickest way for a newbie to get into a game? I've played a bunch of times IRL for about 6 months now. Werewolf at GPs are pretty addicting.
I feel like this set has good flavour, playability, and is interesting enough for both new and old players. It makes limited very interesting to play, and has cool cards (Legendary creatures are kinda cool!) to fool around with. I personally think this set has been awesome so far.
Hm, so that's how it works. I understood the first part. I just thought that Venser's ability would've been screwed over by Sundial (as in, once that endstep is missed, window of opportunity would be missed forever).
If that's how it works, more power to ya.
This would happen if you sundial with venser's return to play at end of step trigger on the stack. Otherwise, you'll be safe.
