Omg, thank you so much for writing this proper essay of a reply I will definitely use edhrec.com and do some searching through gatherer. I will research 8x8 theory and see if I can find the command zone formula and other things. I am going to research manacurve, as neglecting it has costed me dearly in previous decks. I am currently looking at either Ulasht, the Hate Seed or Nath of the Gilt-Leaf for a token commander. Thanks for replying!
Hello,
I want to eventually build a reanimation or token commander deck for my first commander deck, but I don't know where to start. Let's say I've picked a commander. Where do I go from there? I can't just search: Good commander removal, pick out some good cards, than move on. How do I know how many cards I need of each type like removal and draw? How do I find the actual cards? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for replying; here is my idea right now.
14 Swamp
10 Forest
2 Tombstone Stairwell
4 Spider Spawning
4 Champion of Stray Souls
2 Anurid Scavenger
4 Golgari Grave-troll
I now need to add 24 more cards, I would add 4 Entomb but unfortunately I have cost restraints. I am thinking of running 8 cards like it, such as Tortured Existence. This would leave 18 more cards. I am thinking of adding about 10 more creatures such as Mortivore. Any suggestions on discard fodder and creatures to summon? Thanks!
And if you reply to this, it will be your 12,000th reply. Gratz!
Hello! I am really new to magic (have built one deck), and this is my second forum post, so sorry if I did anything wrong. So, the deal is that I want to build a Black-Green graveyard deck (as seen in the title), but I have no idea where to even start, aside from the basic 22 land. Basically, what I am looking for is some cards to build it off of, and the ratio of creatures to instants/sorceries/enchantments. I would prefer for the cards to be cheap enough so that the deck is in the 30 - 50 dollar range. A standard deck isn't an issue here. And do you think I should go with more of a power/toughness equal to cards in graveyard approach, or approach it by sending cards to the graveyard, then casting them. I would appreciate any help on the subject, thank you!
Edit: Grammar
Edit 2: changed budget
Edit 3: I somehow managed to cite the wrong card, apologies
Edit 4: Would basing the deck off of cards like Ghoultree e a good idea? And would adding some spider cards like Spider Spawning be a good idea?
