I myself did not know that you could not respond to a spell you cast. I thought you had one final chance and then it resolved. I now know i have to hold priority.
Why not take it a step further and only allow uncommon and common legendary creatures? (And watch your format devolve into only decks with slimefoot and yargle)
Didn't dominaria give us like 30 someodd uncommon legendary creatures? Why not limit it to ONLY uncommon and common. It also resolves the precon issue.
If I use The Mimeoplasm and target Clone as the base creature (And for the sake of argument Death's shadow for the counters because why not?)
Would the clone still be able to clone a creature on the battlefield or would the initial effect (In this case entering the battlefield) have already passed?
So in the commander forum this question was brought up and I decided to ask.
If I have Volrath, the Shapestealer copy (In this case a Grizzly bears) and then clone volrath what is the process here. The clone would be a grizzly bear as per Volrath being such, however would it obtain Volrath's ability? If I were to use said ability, would it turn back into volrath at end of turn or the bear? (Or would it turn back into the clone a 0/0 with no abilities?
If i were to use Spark double and copy Volrath (Before he changes) same question, if I pay 1 and change the spark double, would it revert back to volrath afterwards?
If I have Volrath copy a Bear, then play Clone targeting Volrath, the clone will be a 8/5 with Volrath's ability to shapshift. If I use that ability to turn my Clone into another creature, what does that Clone turn back into at the start of my next turn? The Bear or Volrath?
That is a ruling question i am now very curious about.
EDIT: Your cloned volrath would be a 7/5 bear with volrath's ability. At the beginning of next turn it would go back to being a 7/5 (non legendary) bear.
all three offer a far more interesting strategy in my opion. Outside of Atla's current thornbite staff + Ashnod's altar combo. I see Changelinsg being useful, I would also be running a Phyrexian altar (And if i can find another free sac outlet in Naya's colors...)
Anyway, i could egg into a changeling and then sac that changeling and egg into a big guy. Preferably some ETB effects Eldrazi would still work (Even without their cast trigger, I will still have a nice big baddie with a nice effect and a couple will have annihilator.
Elsha i am thinking a way to get casts down to 0. some top deck manipulation, (like maybe sensei's divining top or Scroll rack) and having no other creatures. even a bit of a Volron build could be fun.
Finally Volrath, I really am going with the mass counter build. Go with Invisible stalker, Maybe a few guys with infect. Jodah's avenger offers shadow and double strike. Morphling and friends for the pumps... Experiment Kraj, master Biomancer and things with Graft will help spread counters (And thus options) around (Hell if I can, could even get a counter on Master Biomancer and then morph Volrath into it getting about +10/+10 on a creature entering. (maybe more)
Clones as well can help.
If the whole table is trying to make one person lose, that person should lose. If they don't, the deck power gap is so great that you are no longer playing a real game.
I agree. There was one guy at my LGS (he moved away sadly. Not liking the decks but he was a pretty decent guy.
Anyway we could have a pod of 4 and he would win about 90% or more of his games. He claimed his decks were not cEDHh but even when I built a cEDH deck and played him, it was quite difficult to do so. Some players would focus him. And I would tunnel vision on him every game.
It's also why I hate derevi decks,I will murder derevi players before focusing on other decks simply due to the PTSD his deck gave me. Thrasios and tymno decks also bug me, But they are mainly a cEDH deck anyway.
I'd love a version of eminence that is only relevant to deck building.

As for actual eminence. I'm quite fond of the Ur-Dragon and Arahbo. I think Edgar is busted and that aggro being a bad commander archetype doesn't really justify him, and Inalla is completely rediculous. I don't think the issue of eminence is that there is no interaction, but that WotC pushed it a bit too far given that there is no interaction.

I run my ur dragon deck as an aggro deck. It is fast and deadly. Seldom do I kill a player with commander damage as my ur dragon seldom stays on the Feild. But my other dragons (averaging 6 power) usually do the job for me.
I’m brewing it with walls + a few cards allowing walls to attack and a good amount of Planeswalkers. A Planeswallker deck so to say At least theoretically, the themes have strategic overlap and it is something else. The new Sarkhan from war of the spark will be one of the wincons, turning every walker into dragons.
You need access to green to allow walls to attack. There is an equipment that does it but that is one wall at a time. And there are a few creatures that allow you to remove defender.
if they had given you the option of choosing a + or - counter he'd have been worlds better. That would have also opened up a lot of undying persist shenanigans which would have been cool. Oh well.
1) Does the (Direction of attacks) ability last indefinitely?
2) If you have two out both choosing a different direction, does that nullify the ability, overridde the previous or make it so no one can attack?
Thornbite staff is still better, with a sac outlet. (But I guess if every creature in your deck is bigger than an X/2 it is fine to use that instead of a sac outlet. Thornbite just allows you to go finite if you can keep finding ways to kill the egg for free.
No, i am saying it is a trash commander. At least in a wall deck it is on theme but it is still bad in a wall deck.
I dunno about that. I think Pramikon might be the best Jeskai Superfriends commander out there. It's not going to paint a target on your head like Narset would.
I'm guessing if you can find a way to keep playing Disrupt Decorum or similar effects it may be worth while. But i always do 5 color superfriends. (I want access to al, plus i find Superfreinds without Green to be pointless. DOUBLING SEASON)
I don;t like the Rakdos Commanders. Easily able to pass on them now.
Elsha and Valroth are where it is at and my picks I might just buy them as singles though (Although apparently the Jeskai deck works very well with Elsha at the helm)

Clone just go SO MUCH BETTER (in this deck) And we have several to pick from. (Clone, Spark Double, Clever Impersonator, Sakashima's Student, Sakashima the Impostor, stunt Double, Phyrexian Metamorph, Vesuvan Shapeshifter, Quicksilver Gargantuan, Vesuvan Doppelganger, Progenitor Mimic, Cackling Counterpart, Spitting Image, Rite of Replication. I would not Suggest Tempt with Reflections (even if you could potentially get 4, your opponents will also get one (and can use your strategy against you) and you have more clones to pick from) and Dack's duplicate sadly falls under red.
I probably missed some. (But that is still 15 you can run in the deck and one of those i would strongly advise against, but it is still listed.

It would work very well as a PW deck if you have an effective way of getting one of those two or mystic Barrier out early game.
