Agreed with others in the thread, standard needs either weaker walkers or better answers.
Why don't pestilence effects hit walkers? Why are red direct damage spells targeting either player or planeswalkers but rarely the option to hit either?
Why isn't oblivion ring in every coreset going forward?

They finally realized that making tokens should always be a minus ability and not a plus.too bad we are stuck with the two older broken elsepeths.

Elspeth Tirel (the seccond elspeth) had tokens as a - minus. Also this Elspeth can only minus lul.

I was obviously referring to the 2 broken elspeths and not the crappy one.

The reason why token creation should never be a plus ability is that it makes it virtually impossible for aggro decks to remove the walker unless you have trample.

Or just a bigger board, removal spells, damage spells, bounce spells etc. We are still talking about 1/1 tokens right? There is manace or the "can't be blocked by creatures with 2 or less atk", flying.

Aggro decks are usually fast. Most of the time spending 4 mana for a 1/1 should put you behind against an aggro deck.

We have a crazy Questing Beast in standard right now. I don't think 1/1 token generation can be too broken.

The other elspeth has a +1 ability that gives +3/+3 and flying and that was far superior to the 1/1 token.

You obviously never played against it then, cause the +3/+3 ability is almost never used.
Any token provides a blocker, and making it a plus ability is like getting two plus abilities for one since you stop an attack.

Does this mean you draft a hundred card deck? I don't understand...

It depends. If the Planeswalker cost like 6 mana or if it is just one token than a +ability is alright in the right color. White planeswalker doesn't generate card or mana advantage. They are all about field control/advantage.

The -3 ability is the worse ability I have seen on a planeswalker. The other two abilities are okayish. Escape is greate.

The card Furious Rise seem to picture a new God, doesn't it? The story text mentions Klothys. Do we know something about it?
Elspeth, sun's champion was busted in standard, so no, even six mana is not ok.

The reason I asked is that it does not give an extra mana in MTGO.
    Must be a bug, thanks

Does faeburrow elder get an extra mana when I tap it with leyline of abundance in play?
    If not, why not?

    Thanks

The mana dork is Faeburrow Elder I sure of it

It’s secretly a reprint of bloom tender that’s actually slightly better

But bloom tender is two mana and this turd is not.
People tend to forget that ramp is only good if you can use it early, especially on fragile creatures.
If llanowar elf cost two mana, then it's draft fodder only.

Gilded goose is a terrible one shot mana producer.lets be serious here people.even in the 'food' deck, by the time you have lots of food to make it function well then you don't need the mana.

Im a casual player, not a spike, and the cards i mentioned above are casual only. The set is honestly just plain boring.

well having seen the entire set, it sure seems weak.
definitely one of those sets that is fun to draft, then you put the cards to collect dust on a shelf
I seriously only want a few witching wells and an embercleave.
Pretty sad. Where are the powerful enchantments?
Where are the build around cards?
    Why all the janky tribal?
Reminds me of Lorwyn, which I loathed.

Forgive my ignorance, but are there lots of dark skinned people in this set/plane?
If there are, then having a black queen makes perfect sense. If there are not, then it makes no sense because kings and queens usually inherit titles, not take them, so they are usually the same race as the general populace.
Edit: from the current spoiler i see zero other black people, which does make this queen kind of bizarre.
It would be the equivalent of Henry the eigth having a black queen from Africa. Not impossible, but definitely strange.

How does Outside the Game work in EDH again? I feel like it doesn't.

Since the rules committee pussyfoots around making real rules to standardize the format... it depends on your group

Some wont allow it to do anything, some allow a wish board, some let you get whatever you can get your hands on

As for the card... bulk fodder. It gives the impression of being omg strong, but in practice wont be.

    This is wrong.
Commander rules clearly state that these cards do absolutely nothing, which makes sense given that there is no such thing as a sideboard for commander.
    Same with latest Karn.
