ok for people actually giving him crap over not running steppe lynx i think it comes down to one thing really, and that's how aggresive he's trying to be. perhaps he wants creatures that aren't as good on the attack but are actually worth something on the defense without a fetch.
i like the aggressiveness of lynx and i don't care about dropping a turn 2 ghast, seeing as it's at it's best later game and i'd rather drop sculler, lacerator i like for it's aggressiveness as well, the one of guul draz is a ranger target, with persecution or ajani it's evasion can help push in the last few points of damage, i wanted to the deck to curve out at 4 hence the the lack of walletslayer, grim discovery is for recovery of fetches since hitting landfalls is pretty key, i know it's not so aggressive but with essentially 10 fetch effects i think emeria angel could produce a lot of tokens and fast, combined with ajani it's a deal with me or lose card and the ziggs while i do worry about them hindering ajani there's only 2 and they help with consistency the first 3 turns which i heard were pretty important in today's meta
I feel like Archdemon of Unx is absolutely horrible in this deck. Since you're running almost all Zombies, he'll have to sac himself AKA you'll get a 2/2 zombie for 7 mana. Maybe I'm missing something.
it's a combo with rise from the grave it makes it a zombie and the ruling is as long as it's a zombie you won't have to sacrifice anything and becomes a 2/2 zombie token generator. . .that is as long as you have any non zombies out which is pretty unlikely
i'm gonna play an old combo deck that involved pumping devoted druid with various pump spells then using the untap to add lots of mana then fate transfering all the counters to a dusk urchins effectively drawing then playing my entire deck then either playing rite of consumption on a massive druid or waiting a turn and swinging out with an army
i'm gonna miss dusk urchins. . .i just loved the art so much
Iona, the new angel, and Progenitus are both excellent targets. Defense of the Heart also fits the hint that Mark Rosewater gave: "A spell that can allow you for no mana to put a creature from your library into play."
i think MaRo means literally no mana on that spell like a trap that's alternate cost is 0 with defense of the heart technically you spend 4 mana just the trigger is free
oh, and by the way, your scattershot doesn't work here. warren insitgator isn't flying.
he actually meant that a T1 scattershot could block and trade with instigator. . . if you look back he was talking about x/2 creatures you could have in play before it could attack
+1: Put two 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens into play.
+1: Destroy target noncreature, nonland permanent.
-7: Reveal the top 10 cards of your library. Put all permanents revealed this way into play.
5
that would be the single most broken planeswalker ever the first plus oneis strictly better than elspeth, the second ability can hit planeswalkers and the last ability is also bs say you remove exactly seven loyalty causing her to be sacrificed then reveal a second copy of her (plansewalkers are permanent)
i think to fit the elf theme her abilities would be something like
+1 put a 0/1 elf token into play with add to your mana pool
+1 put a +1/+1 counter on target creature, creatures you control with +1/+1 counters gain trample
-7 creatures you control get +x/+x where x is equal to their power, sacrifice all creatures you control an the end of turn
so basically her first abilty is make a blocker and a mana accelerator, her second is a permanent pump yes the trample would last for the game and her final is very aggressive and will usually end a game but isn't guaranteed to
yeah i know a global berserk seems broken but it doesn't give evasion and with day of judment being printed in the set and with fallout, path, doomblade, bolt it wouldn't be too hard to stop
Okay, so according to MTGS, it wasn't rigged. We all will now move on. (for clarification, I'm rolling my eyes at people actually dropping the subject)
Anyways, I still think that a -4 or -7 ability with have a Damnation or Plague Wind effect.
i don't see there being a -4 cause that's his starting loyalty. he would be a 6 mana damnation which would suck or a 6 mana plague wind which would be pretty awesome actually. i think at 6 mana they'll do what they did with garruk and give him a one turn build up to his ultimate. i'm not gonna speculate what his ultimate is but i think his loyalties will go either +1/-1/-5 or +2/-1/-6 with maybe a -x involved somewhere
Captured Sunlight is wonderful against burn/faster aggro decks and almost always gets a relevant threat. (Lord...Leech) And if it back fires and gets a seize, well its like gaining 2 life and seizing instead of losing 2 which can be key.
only issue i see there is cascading into a harm's way with [CARD]captured sunlight
[/CARD]
i think this deck could easily be a second rendition or the B/W lifelink deck from when eventide came out, use cheap lifelink creatures to slow down aggro, voracious hatchling would have good synergy with wall of reverence and would be a road block to non token aggro. it could very easily become lifelink mid range. dropping sanguine bond would make it so even blocking hurt your opponent if all your creatures had lifelink.
list of decent/cheap lifelink creatures i can think of (some have been mentioned already)
Baneslayer Angel does more than chump colossus all day. it also eats demigods and broodmate dragon then his token. . . the argument of it dies to removal is generally a bad one. Rafiq of the Many sees play and it dies to even more form of removal than the angel same is true for rhox war monk, woolly thoctarfigure of destiny all of those cards still see play and lack the "relevant" abilities you spoke of. and as for decks that would play i see 5CC having a field day with it. they'd simply wait untill they could play it and have counter back up (just like they do with all their other win cons)
here's my take on it, it's a more aggressive take

shoreline raider
fallen cleric
masked gorgon
riptide biologist
and i can't remember the name but it had pro saproling so wizards isn't exactly opposed to making narrow protection

trinket mage, infernal tutor, entomb, survival of the fittest
and less commonly ponder and land grant

if he meant the 14/1 token plus might of oaks it's technically two cards >__>
