If Jodah, Archmage Eternal and Morophon, the Boundless are on the battlefield under your control at the same time, does this mean that creatures of the type chosen with Morophon's ETB ability are effectively free to cast?
I was under the impression that since the land is a creature at the time it is targeted by Shapeshifter's ability, shapeshifter would copy the creature in its current state. This not being the case, would you happen to have a rules reference I could refer to?
If my opponent has used Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor's triggered ability to turn a land into a creature until end of turn, and then I turn Vesuvan Shapeshifter face up and make it a copy of the creature/land, will my copy remain a creature even after the turn ends?
But the second part of Dungeon Geists' rules text is a static ability I thought? And not part of the ETB ability? Because if that's the case then the static ability would no longer apply while Kenrith's is active.
If a Dungeon Geists is on the battlefield, and a Kenrith's Transformation is played, targeting it, I'm assuming the ability on Geists would no longer apply and the card initially targeted with Geists' ETB ability will be able to untap as normal. But if Transformation leaves the battlefield without Geists dying, will its ability still be active with regard to the target of the original ETB?
So the rules text of Twinning Staff refers to whenever you copy a spell "one or more times." But if you have multiple sources copying the same spell, like for instance if you cast a spell from the top of your library whilst controlling both Melek, Izzet Paragon and a tapped Kalamax, the Stormsire, would they each trigger Twinning Staff separately on the stack for a total of two additional copies, or would Twinning Staff only copy once since all of the copy triggers are targeting the same spell?
That's what I assumed, but would you happen to have a specific reference for that ruling, as I have multiple people in my playgroup who seem to think otherwise?
The activated ability on Nicol Bolas, the Ravager states that you exile him, and then return him to the battlefield transformed. Since no zone is specified for the Exile part of the a ability, should it be assumed that it means "exile from the battlefield," or can it be moved to the exile zone from any zone provided the mana cost is paid? In other words, can you activate the ability on the card if it isn't already on the battlefield?
It still has those abilities, but they may no longer have any effect. For example flying on a non-creature permanent doesn't do anything, but it still has that ability. But if you were to somehow get Scavenging Ooze under Gift of Doom and then morph it the result would still have the ability to exile a card from a GY for G and even get counters even though it doesn't have p/t to modify.
So in other words Keyword abilities still apply to the permanent but have no use on a noncreature permanent, but activated and triggered abilities can still be used just the same?
And am I correct in thinking that in the case of Gift of Doom, if it is on top of a mutated creature, any mutated creature beneath it has its abilities nullified when the card is turned face up, since the permanent is no longer a creature?
So in other words Keyword abilities still apply to the permanent but have no use on a noncreature permanent, but activated and triggered abilities can still be used just the same?
Can the morphed card still be turned face up no matter what, or only if it is on the top of the mutated creatures?
If the card is turned face up after being mutated, will it still retain all abilities of the other creature(s)?
