I think there were actually a lot of noteworthy tidbits.
Thank you for having a positive outcome on anything Wizards related in this forum. People like you are becoming rarer by the day here. Also thanks for sharing.
I think it is also uniquely bad in that your oppeont can not really check if you follow the requirement - you need judge checks for it.
You never had to check if the opponent's deck had 5 copies of a card of a minimum of 60. You start with their companion revealed, so you know which criteria all his cards have to meet. Once he plays an illegal card, slap a nearby judge on opponent's face.
Is this the cycle we wanted completed that we are finally going to get?
I just crossed that on my list of things we were promised! Ultimatums are not that great on constructed and competitive play but our inner power-gamer always wanted them, so yes! Excited for the Jeskai one!
Cruel Ultimatum was a house in its Standard environment. It often closed games.
Sure it was, but it was the exception of the exception, unless my mind is playing tricks on me. I think these are a bit more desirable, specially in an ambient with plenty of ramp available, with Risen Reefs and Uros wandering about freely.
Another piece on the ultimatum cycle! From DailyMTG.
Emergent Ultimatum BBGGGUU
Sorcery, rare
Search your library for up to three monocolored cards with different names and exile them. An opponent chooses one of these cards. Shuffle that card into your library. You may cast the other cards without paying their mana costs. Exile Emergent Ultimatum.

You may play an additional land of each of your turns.
Whenever you cast a spell, draw two cards.
At the beggining of your end step, discard your hand.
I'm liking this philosophy of Temur being rewarded for casting a lot of spells, as seen on C20 aswell. Thoughts?
Statements like this are stupid. Some of the old books were real gems, Kamigawa trilogy or first Ravnica book were also good. Children of the Nameless was good, etc...

Opening one of these in a booster is sure to be a jump kick, directly in your face.

Return any number of permanent cards with different names from your graveyard to your battlefield.
That's like, your opinion. It is wrong though.
Most likely balancing. Remember, those cards are tested extensively by the playtest team and during their design stages.
