I really, really like the level mechanic. I remember someone (MaRo?) writing that if we liked Figure of Destiny, they'd do more cards in the same vein. This is a fantastic realisation of that promise.
Very nice. The arts seem to be done in very different styles, the original being more realistic whilst the promo is presented in an exaggerated manner.
This is probably a little pedantic of me since In terms of magic I came around during Odyssey block, but Blastoderm was pre-Erhnam Djinn and Phantom Ventaur was at the same time. "Since then" doesn't quite make sense.
If you're going to be pedantic, at least be correct. Ernham Djinn was originally printed in Arabian Nights. Thus, it predates both the Centaur and Blastoderm.
This card is very, very good. Donating it with a Trader just isn't necessary for a cohesive strategy. Much like Baneslayer or Tarmogoyf, this is simply a very efficiently costed creature.
Cancel is currently perfect as it is. Imagine what would happen if Wizards reprinted Counterspell:
1) there would arise even more needs for even more powerful one-drops, which would lead to:
2) printing a 1cc creature counter, which would result in:
3) killing every archetype other than extreme aggro and extreme control...
...which has already started happening when Wizards reprinted Bolt...

Well you are right and wrong. The only good thing this card does is take advantage of superior board position. If you have more land and can get more than the opponent... you have LD party. You have more creatures..or at least token creatures ( Hi Elspeth and Gerruk!) it is a nice The Abyss effect.
The problem with this is that to gain total control over the game takes several turns using queller, plenty of time for them to find cheap removal. I don't quite understand the point of "securing your hold" on the game of 3+ turns when a Baneslayer would've simply won by this point.
My problem with Queller is that most of the time he reads: 3WW: target player must pay for and discard a removal card in their hand.
You're right, sometimes it will stick, and when it does; it's awesome. I just don't think it's worth the mana for the aforementioned effect. And believe me, it's going to be that 4 out of 5 times. It even dies to Bituminous Blast. At least Baneslayer doesn't die to that.
The "it dies to everything" arguement is never relevant, and this guy doesn't even die to everything in the first place. That said, I dislike World Queller simply because it doesn't effect the board fast enough and there aren't any really good ways to break its symmetricalness. Baneslayer on the other hand.....
Jeff's list is entirely the same as mine, though while I don't agree with some of his prices, the rankings are right. I just don't understand putting cards like Ob Nixilis ahead of lotus cobra and scute mob ahead of fetchlands, it just doesn't make sense.
hey all, this is a card ive had for some time to alter and never had any ideas for it! finally had an idea (of sorts) and thought i'd give it a go, im fairly happy with how it turned out, was trying to give it a look of having a playing card on the card (or in the card?)

C) Best case scenarios are rarely relevant, especially ones involving getting two planeswalkers to ultimate.
That being said, The Mad doesn't seem too bad, card drawing in colours which don't usually recieve it is always worth something.
