Its not about change in game mechanics. No one has a problem with that, capisco? No one has a problem with cards that can turn into another cards.
The problem people have is, that the easiness of playing is reduced. The problem people have is with how a "card without back side" what this actually is, ruins the playing of any card game, where is important that some informations are open and available for everyone, other information are disclosed and that information are easily to acquired for respective parties who have right on them.
Totally agreed. Double sided cards were forced down our throats to feed the ego of a tiny high pitched voiced little man that thinks he walks on water.
Flaming someone who isn't actually on the forum is still flaming. Infraction given.
There is really no denying that transform and double faced cards are the worst idea R and D has ever had. Even Maro admits that they were changed to checklists over a sorcery summoning the DFC at the last minute. If that had not happened opposition to this garbage idea would have been insurmountable even for the hobgoblin himself (Maro).
Let's be honest. If someone had come to any of us last week and made the statement:
"Hey I think double sided flip cards would be a good idea for innistrad and hey a proxy checklist would be included if you didn't like sleeves."
They'd be scoffed at, in fact they were scoffed at in the mayor speculation thread in the rumor mill. This is because it truly is terrible design and an awful idea. Just sayin...
What is amazing is that anyone would consider a card that has to be removed from and reinserted into a sleeve over and over during the game or checklist card elegant in any way shape or form. I am still just shocked that these cards made it to print.
For as many voicing this opinion, I am really hoping it was Garfield who suggested these flip cards. I think it would be hilarious to hear some back peddle from this type of stance if they found out who suggested it.
Why would they backpedal? When Lucas made the 3 awful starwars prequels he got bashed to hell despite his previous success with the other 3 movies.
If you create crap it's still crap even if you struck gold in the past.
Double sided cards are the worst idea in the history of magic (saying a lot because there have been some other stinkers). A better idea would have been for the design team to fire themselves before they could make such a huge mistake.
Now even if they are fired (which they should be) their mistake will still be there, a stinking stain upon this great game.

Censor evasion infraction issued. -viper
Agreed, all the theorys thus far seem to complicated and cute...aka ****ty design (good design is intuitive). I'll wait and see till Monday though.
