Well ... a community is not a singular entity, so there is no contradiction.
And even if it was some unified voice, your insinuation also ignores that one can dislike going from one extreme to another, versus settling somewhere in the middle, which is logically consistent. (not saying it is the case here or not - going from one extreme to another, just that it is a logically consistent thing that IMO it appears hypocritical when put in a dishonest context)

Been here (in some form) for at least 5 years - but with all the transitioning that went on with the forums here in terms of the platform used, I didn't know if my account survived, and if I did, I didn't know my old login details or anything, so I thought "screw it," and just made a new one.
And, on the point I stated about discussions being difficult, I meant in general - in any platform where said discussions take place - whether here, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, etc, some subjects are very venom laced.
Wow. What makes everyone in the world entitled to get Magic cards (new or old) at the same price and rate of distribution?
Imagine that, people expect WotC, after making a promise to not do things perceived to be detrimental to the game, to stick to that promise. What a shocker.
Honestly, I don't disagree that people will, and have overreacted at some point, but IMO, trying to gaslight the people who are raising valid points is just gonna make the discussion more heated, not less, especially when made in a way that ignores what actually has been said. Same with the rest of your post, which amounts to running with an incredible strawman, and using it to make all sorts of jabs at players who are very passionate about the situation, jabs that are irrelevant (when they aren't outright name-calling and blind dismissal) to the complaints lodged, as if you were actually rebuking them.
It's the same crap that makes the RL so hard to discuss, the same tendency to respond with extreme poison. It's just as BS there as it is here.
I don't understand why people are so angry about some cards for a non-essential luxury product.
If you want them just buy them.
I think you may have missed the first 5 pages of this thread, the various discussions and arguments going on within the realms of Reddit AND Twitter, etc - as if you had read those, you would have seen a number of reasons that people dislike this, some thematic, many mechanical/with regard to handling releasing product to game, some regarding availability issues, etc.
So, we've had exclusive cards in a bunch of preconstructed products over the years. We've had commander decks, planechase decks, planeswalker decks,theme boosters,global series gift box,
But that's not, IMO, a good comparison to this at all.
Those were far, far more available, among other differences.
Also, is it just me, or does WotC seem to be suffering from a form of corporate-level amnesia? The BaB issue w/ Nexus of Fate being something that they should have taken a hint from.
so many can't even comprehend why the list was created in the first place, and constantly feel all cards should be worthless.
Erm ... being a bit inflammatory are we? I'm sure that not wanting the RL to remain as-is, or not wanting it to remain at all, doesn't mean wanting cards to be worthless, and it's more complicated than that... otherwise, why do a lot of desirable non-RL cards hold a non-zero value?
Not to mention that it, IMO, perpetuates a false dichotomy with regards to the people who support or oppose the RL - in that, it helps perpetuate the pigeonholing of people as "having RL cards = pro-RL' not having RL = anti-RL," which is BS. Seriously, in parsing many discussions on the subject, here, on Twitter, on YouTube, and on Facebook, I've seen people:
Who have RL cards, and support abolishing the RL.
Who have RL cards, and support modifying, but not completely abolishing the RL.
Who have RL cards, and support leaving the RL alone.
Who don't have RL cards, and support abolishing the RL.
Who don't have RL cards, and support modifying, but not completely abolishing the RL.
Who don't have RL cards, and support leaving the RL alone.
And of those on both the have-RL-cards, and don't-have-RL-cards sides who support abolishing the RL list, or modifying but not abolishing the RL, there are motivations besides cards being cheaper, or worthless - from concerns about counterfeiters being motivated by how the RL is now, to the health of the formats that utilize RL cards, to the design space that is eaten away from both the RL, and the "spirit of the RL" (IMO garbage) excuse used more and more it feels.
Pardon this rant, but it just pisses me off that people (BOTH the rabidly pro-RL, AND the rabidly anti-RL) pigeonhole people so dishonestly, as it creates the very venom that makes this issue so god damn contentious, and hard to engage in fruitfully.

Honestly, the idea that you think you can declare opinions factually valid or invalid is kind of silly.
Also, slippery slope is only a fallacy when you cannot logically justify the progression down the slope, from point A to B etc.
