So, I'm sure a few of you are aware of the combo that was fairly big around ravnica/time spiral - Saffi Eriksdotter + Crypt Champion for a "do nothing" combo, and then essence warden or related "when a creature comes into play" effect to create an infinite loop. Yes, I realize its not a particularly strong combo relative to a lot of the crazy stuff, but for some reason I like it and want to use it casually.
Long story short, I'm looking to port Project X over to legacy, but keep it relatively cheap. My usual group typically plays LegacyLight (tm.) Basically, its legacy without the really expensive stuff, although we still can get pretty degenerate. I see two ways of going about this - keep it straight combo, or make a more aggro centric version with a combo for backup.
So what should I do to keep this a fun, midrange kinda does it all deck, but keep it consistent and semi-competitive? Also, sideboard wise I'm aiming for a toolbox, since I play against pretty much everything but T1 decks.
Mutavaults nice but it doesn't contribute anything to the board on its own, and with the already tweaky mana requirements its a little bit sketchy. Maybe 1-2 might fit but I doubt 4 will.
I myself am partial to - and am trying to develop - Meathooks, which is a G/W/U that runs a more aggresive game than the typical countersliver. It tends to run
Don't run Tarmogoyf - it's a waste of 4 spots in this deck. Slivers need numbers and synergy, so try to concentrate on them. I'd run at least two counterspells in its place and something else. I also don't see much room for Gaddock Teeg, as there just aren't that many targets for him. I also have tested, and really like, Sensei's Divining Top in this deck. It smooths out a lot of potential problems. Meddling's a sideboard card; go with an all-sliver base game 1. Aggresion is key, as you can get a good early/mid game, and even a solid late game if you've got a few counters in hand and some booster slivers in play.
Land is the hardest and priciest bit of this deck, but the Rav lands could work too. The life loss is not as bad provided Aether Vial is in the deck. I'd run the full four as you have to get it out at all costs, really.
It works well as an aggressive deck, but given that there's such a large amount of straight aggro decks - threshold, goblins, etc - why not go for more of a toolbox route, as overtime your breaking of the power-curve is going to outweigh their creatures?
Might+ Sinew+ Plated seems like it'll slow down aggro really fast and from there you can stabilize and regain control, but having the glittering wish + living wish toolbox idea would give you a slow but reliable way to stop more combo based decks?
I'm relatively new to the Legacy scene, having played a lot of casual formats in the past, with some mild constructed experience.
Awhile ago I saw some old decklists - several years old - of various sliver decks based off of crystalline slivers backed by a few counter spells and pump slivers.
I'm curious what people's reaction to something like this would be:
Dorans a good idea though. I'll give it a try.

So, a rough sketch to get the ideas flowing:
4 Crypt Champion
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Loxodon Hierarch
3 Soul Warden
2 Essence Warden
2 Teysa, Orzhov Scion
4 Wall of Roots
2 Armadillo Cloak
2 Mystic Enforcer
4 Call of the Herd
11 Forest
6 Plains
5 Swamp
Now, obviously this would be dramatically improved by getting duals/pains and I'm working on that. The balance of land however is something I always have issues with.
I've also considered tossing in Mortify/Putrefy, Harmonize, Watchwolf, Congregation at Dawn, Wrath of God, Aether Vial, etc.

Thanks in advance.
4 Steel of the Godhead
4 Thistledown Duo
4 Thistledown Liege
4 Plumeveil
4 Zealous Guardian
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Curse of Chains
Basically, stall, then land a large-ish unblockable creature with lifegain, maybe draw some cards in the process. Seems to work well, its just slow.
Any suggestions? Definitely need sideboard help.

But since it would stop FoW, just run daze or straight up counterspell in its place?
Meddling Mage, Harmonic Sliver, Gaddock Teeg are all multicolored.
I'm fairly certain there's other good slivers that are multicolored and there's gotta be other multis that might be useful?
Thoughts on Glittering Wish as a maindeck silver bullet tutor?

4 Muscle Sliver

4 Tarmogoyf
3 Winged Sliver
4 Plated Sliver
2 Meddling Mage
Spells
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
4 Daze
3 Swords to Plowshares
3 Aether Vial
Lands
4 Tundra
4 Savannah
3 Tropical Island
3 Flooded Strand
3 Windswept Heath
3 Chalice of the Void
3 Stifle
2 Meddling Mage
1 Swords to Plowshares
Sideboard and land are obviously junk (and incomplete,) but I'm curious as to the prospects if this was properly tuned.
