rowanalpha posted a message on Oh look I fixed WhiteThese cards are, at best, stretches for white and some outright color breaks. Overall, color aside, the effects are good, but they need to be mostly blue or red rather than white.Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Counterspells have always been a bend in white - Planar Chaos cards are never to be taken as a examples of what a color can do -, so your counters are a stretch. Treasure tokens are usually more of the red/blue thing and white doesn't ramp, so those are definitely a break. Emminent Domain and Manifest Destiny are definitely breaks. Tax man is close but still a stretch because of the amount it ramps and Tithe Collector is solidly a red card, not white.

Also Akroma is not a legend I expected to see another card of. Not that I'm disappointed, but it felt like her story was told and her card wasn't terrible. So a bit out of the left field. -

1. I cast this card. With trigger on the stack, sac this card to a phyrexian altar, goblin bombardment, etc.
2. Bladewing comes out and effect targets Courser. With trigger on the stack, sac Bladewing as well and let it return to the command zone.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 ad nauseum.
Seems pretty good.
Edit: also works with gerard 2.0. -

rowanalpha posted a message on PathwaysThe best resource it to search for the card in Gatherer.wizards.com and check the notes at the bottomPosted in: New Card Discussion
"If an effect puts a double-faced card onto the battlefield, it enters with its front face up. If that front face can’t be put onto the battlefield, it doesn’t enter the battlefield."
So for Pathways you always get back the "front" face. If you had a Bala Ged Sanctuary in play instead and combo with Worldgorger Dragon, the card stays in exile permanently because Bala Ged Recovery isn't a permanent that can be on the battlefield. If it was a Kazandu Valley, though, you get the Kazandu Mammoth back. -

Crypt Rat posted a message on [CMR] Opposition AgentThe landscape of commander is vast. If you're already choosing to play on the "No" side of "Aven Mindcensor?", then the addition of this to the larger card pool should not upset you because tutor hosers have existed for years.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

Kryptnyt posted a message on [CMR] Man vs Salamander— Mashable previewsI like the Natural Reclamation despite the fact that the word "reclamation" ought to be retired for mtg card titles. A reclamation does too many different things on too many cards. "I'll reclamation your Sol Ring to destroy it." "I'll reclamation to bring it back to the battlefield." "I'll respond to your reclamation by flashing back my reclamation, shuffling your Sol Ring and your other reclamation into your library." "But you tapped out!" "Reclamation untapped my lands."Posted in: The Rumor Mill

Also, while not exactly the point being made, you shouldn't have gotten to steal anything off Stoneforge. Her ability is a "May" so they should have just chosen not to search. So, while it ended up well for you, in reality it should have just been a temporary Shadow of Doubt for that turn and a misunderstanding on someone's part is the only reason you got a card.Quote from ChariSays »Quote from Scott, Cabal Minion »Let me put it this way. I have been testing Op Agent. My Death and Taxes opp played Stoneforge Mystic, I flashed in a OA, stole a Jitte, played it the next turn, and won the game. Next game I played a Show and Tell player, he cast Intuition, I flashed in a OA, exiled every copy left in his deck of Show and Tell, and won the game. From playtesting, I am telling you this card is strong.
So you countered two spells in two games?
I get that it's a good card, but it isn't really more broken than other options in the formats available to it. It'll probably see some sideboard play in Legacy/ Vintage, and some Commander play. -

Creedmoor posted a message on [CMR] Opposition AgentAlthough people are listing how strong this is with [cardname], remember that this isn't a legendary card, and you'll have to find this in your deck to enable all of the shenanigans y'all are proposing.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Sure, it's really cool, and strong, but I don't think it's going to be as crazy as it seems. It might sneak in and thwart an enemy once, but then it's just going to die to something immediately. Anyone who says that this card is going to destroy magic and be too powerful has obviously never sat down and played a game of magic. Creatures die all the time. Someone plays this? Steals your search? Just kill it like a normal person and move on. If you don't, I'm sure one of the other people at the table will make ends meet.
This is one of those cards that will dance in and take a play, but it's not going to autowin a game. Let's be real. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Yup, this precisely.
Also, we can always see new cards for characters killed off in the story. We have a set prereleasing this very week that has multiple characters that are dead in the story getting cards. Some of them didn't even already have 3 different variations.
1
But this set literally only exists to draft. It wasn't a missed opportunity to not be a drafting set. We've had over 50 non-draftable commander releases. This is literally the only one that is draftable. I really can't understand why anybody expected this set to be anything else.

Every booster set since Mirage has been for draft. There are collector's boosters that will help you dodge draft chaff, or you could just buy the cards you want on the secondary market to save money. This is not new to the game.
If only WotC had some sort of direct to consumer product line that was just decent, asked for cards, maybe with unique art? If only...

It's pretty good for control. Template should be "At the beginning of your upkeep."
Oof this is very powerful. It is a Phyrexian Arena with essentially no drawback, since giving u our opponent's life is pretty negligible for combo and control, where this would see the most play. Cards like Punishing Fire just make things like this backbreaking.

That's a whole lot of assumptions and straw men in response to me asking for more details. And you didn't even address the issue with the Stoneforge play. I even stated above that it will probably see play in Legacy, in sideboards. Don't really know what you're going on about, but the emotional reaction you're having says to me that you're not great at logical, level headed thinking, and that your playtest data is inherently tainted by such fallacies.
Do you have playtest logs and/ or decklists, or are you going to continue having a temper tantrum about me asking you to Show and Tell. Should be easy, you can cast 3 of them.
