I bought the Dimir guild, black and blue, Consuming Aberration (CA) on the front, Mill deck years ago. I've spent years playing it against myself and my friends and making into a turn - 5 behemoth of a deck. But it's grown stagnant, and I want it to keep getting stronger. I'm here to ask advice on stronger cards to sub out with what I have in it already. It has 3 ways to win built into it, and I don't want to funnel it into only one concept. My favorite thing about this deck is that it's built for any and all situations. Here's the cards, with some explainations:
Planeswalkers:
1x Jace Beleren
(low cast and low maintenance. If he survives long enough to activate his "mill 20 cards" ability, awesome. If not, it's not necessary to win)
Creatures :
4x Dusk mantle Guildmage
(one of two cards for an infinite combo instakill)
3x Royal Assassin
(persuades opponent not to attack)
3x Consuming Aberration (CA)
(power and toughness are equal to opponents graveyard ;a tank for a mill deck)
3x Fog Bank
(hard to kill defender)
2x Jace's Fantasm
(flying and gets stronger midgame)
Enchantments :
4x Aqueous Form
(makes CA unblockable)
2x Fraying Sanity
(doubles each turn's Mill total, and stacks when both cards are in play)
2x Gift of Orzhova
(adds +1/+1, flying, and lifelink. Also keeps CA alive if opponent's graveyard gets shuffled back into the library)
Sorceries:
3x Mind Sculpt
(low cast, high mill)
3x Grizzly Spectacle
(destroy opponent's creature and a mill equal to its power)
2x Cackling Counterpart
(for when you need another CA in play for 2 less mana than a CA)
Artifacts :
3x Mindcrank
(the other half of the instakill combo)
