It's Tier 1 around here now, so I must conclude that it is certainly not "dead." In fact, I might argue that with the positioning of it in first tier, it will become more popular.
Lesurgo brought me in to help pick up the slack, and I felt that the Stickied decks didn't accurately reflect the metagame. I brought QnT up and pushed a few decks down due to lack of results, and finally gave Kithkin a thread again. (that could've been done immediately following Nats). As long as my jurisdiction is only over Standard, I'll have time to keep this forum up-to-date 24/7.
I'm sure you'll do an great job Shin. Also do you think the recent moves will affect what people play? I mean, I think some will see :symg::symb::symw: Doran, :symu::symw: Merfolk, and :symr::symg: Ramp moved to Tier 2 and decide they won't play them anymore because they arn't "competitive" or on the same level with the Tier 1 stuff. On the flip side Toast and RDW might get an added boost in popularity (though I don't see how RDW could get any more popular than it is now, lol, it's crazy).
Well, it's happened again (the revamping I mean). It looks like W(W/U) Kithkin Mirrormaster has earned an official thread in the Tier 2 competitive section. I definitely think this is a good move, and one that has been needed for some time. Congratz Kithkin!
RDW and Quick n' Toast have due to recent success been moved up into the Tier 1 section, and in the case of RDW at least, I think this is completely warrented. Congratz RDW and Toast!
Unfortunately, GBW Doran, UW Merfolk, and RG Ramp have fallen from grace, being relegated to the Tier 2 section of the competitive forum. Sad news, but in light of few results recently, I must say a good move.
Finally, congratz to the excellent Mods for keeping on top of the Type II situation!
Edit: After posting I noticed Mono R Storm earned a spot in the Tier 2 competitive section. Personally I am not sure it is deserving, but congratz to the Storm!
I thought Cloudgoat Ranger was a must in this deck. Dropping the Thistledown Lieges and removal down a bit to include him is what I've seen most people do. He's a beast coming out of the Windbrisk Heights. Also, depending on how control heavy your meta is (how many wrath effects you'll see), you may see some builds running Kinsbaile Borderguard in the side - or even the main.
Happy to see W(W/U) Kithkin Mirrormaster back in its rightful place. Good job!
That's why I play anthem over champion, they can't kill it.
Yeah, I think you're right on this. The only reason I was playing Elvish Champion over Gaea's Anthem was to improve my elf count - making balling out easier, extra elf attacker/blocker, etc... However, her getting killed all the time is a real drawback. It's not just RDW that will blast a lord given the opportunity, anybody with spot removal will, and a lot of times I don't attack or block with her anyway. I think I'll make the switch, especially since I'm running Treetop Villages (non-elves that would still be boosted by Anthem) now.

Also, Wheel of Sun and Moon over Sudden Death. Idk WTF I was thinking. It'll slow us down a bit, but at the same time they'll either A) not have an answer B) Spend precious spells/time finding one rather than going off/finding peices to go off with.
So, you guys think Wheel of Sun and Moon deserves board space? If so, what gets taken out - Vigor from most people's boards I imagine.
Grrrr, 2-3 tonight at FNM - a completely unacceptable score! Vigor has failed me again. I saw two RDW, winning game 1 each time, and although I sided in the big bull for games 2-3 of each match, I lost both series. I mean if he's not helping in the MUs he's designed for, why keep him? When I was unable to pump him out with Heritage Druid, I had to cast him the old fashion way with six lands. This was, as you might have guessed, just too slow as although holding the line on the ground was no longer a problem, I saw Demigod of Revenge fly over my head each time ftw. I think he is getting yanked for sure this time. Going to try out either the Elvish Eulogist or the Essence Warden to help with that MU. Also, I'm just not getting much use out of Guttural Response, so it might have to go too. With all the really annoying flyers out there (Sower of Temptation, Aven Riftwatcher, Demigod of Revenge, etc...), and mono G having no real answer for them, I'm seriously considering Jagged-Scar Archers in the side.
I was just looking through the competitive forum when I noticed something different. "What the..? Why is RDW in the Tier 1 section?" I thought. Then I thought back to all the successful RDW varients I've been seeing lately and how popular it's become. While I don't play the deck myself, I must admit that it can go blow for blow with the top decks out there, so congraz to RDW!
Yeah, Hurricane (or more likely Squall Line) is usually run as sideboard material against Faeries, but it, much like Profane Command, has served as a win condition in and of itself in the past. Overall, I must agree that you have A LOT of high cc creatures. I wouldn't keep more than one Regal Force, if that, and no Doomgapes. Oh, and if you're going to bother to run the Harbinger, then you might want to go with a tool box build - incorporating singletons of creatures like Jagged-Scar Archers, Elvish Eulogist, Elvish Champion, etc... for specific situations.
1.) Back in pages like 20-25 some people were discussing spot removal, but then that topic just dropped off the face of the Earth. Mercy Killing was discussed. Some guy talked about running Lys Alana Bowmaster in the side, and you Noob suggested Jagged-Scar Archers on several ocasions. These posibilities are something I would like to get everyone's opinions on because personally I found myself troubled by Sowers, Aven Riftwatchers, and other flyers that I would have really liked to have an answer for - even if just one from the board.
Personally, I don't like either Tattermunge Maniac or Wort, Boggart Auntie. More Mogg War Marshals is definitely the way to go. What about Stenchskipper? I know it's not a goblin, but it would work amazing with your deck IMO. Also, it could be interesting to incorporate Empty the Warrens, Goblin King, and Coat of Arms somehow in a sort of Elf-Ball/Alpha Strike look. Don't know that it would work with just Type II cards at your disposal, but my friend runs a nasty casual deck based on this idea.
I understand the 21-22 land count as including x4 Treetop Village/Mutavault, which as cipt/colorless lands could potentially make you miss a land drop themselves. If you don't run these "half-lands," for whatever reason, then maybe 19 is reasonable. To each his own.
Sower of Temptation is an awsome card, we agree. I personally hate playing against decks that run it, but that being said, I don't think it will work here. Maybe if it cost 3U instead of 2UU it might be workable, but that extra U will require a major blue splash. That in addition to the fact that you plan on running cards like Saffi Eriksdotter and Gaddock Teeg which are real multi-colored cards (GW), not psuedo-multi-colored ((G/W)(G/W)) like Finks, Safehold, Liege, etc... means you will truely be a 3-color deck! I understand Doran can pull it off, but it is certainly easier said than done.

2.) I also didn't like my MU with Lark or control in general. I run a board of 4 Guttural Response, 4 Squall Line, 3 Vigor, 2 Faerie Macabre, 2 Krosan Grip at the moment. However, after scouring the thread again, I've found no mention of the cards Wheel of Sun and Moon and Riftsweeper. What do you guys think about them?
