Master of Etherium x4 might just be the nuts here (if I remember correctly hes a 2U, his power and toughness are each equal to the number of artifacts you control) ...it would also be insane if the TSP block artifacts wernt rotating when this deck becomes legal (epochrasite and cloud key would be kinda nice here...especially with the hand acceleration of Howling Mine -howling mine not recommended just yet-)
I just thought about asking that question a moment ago, if the deck is built right this could provide for an interesting trick in the up-and-comming RBG tokens lists.
The simple answer is nonexistent, but as the deck stands now, having to hold out for a Bitterblossom is not very promising. I would have to say that the tribe can still do well as an evasive aggro-themed clock with a few more tricks than rogues, but in order to put the control pressure on the opponent, Faeries will need to find unlikely Tempo-Sustaining replacements for Ancestral Visions and Rune Snag
this card is too color-heavy...and it has no central effect goal, so its not that strong for the color requirement to really warrant usage unless the newer cards fix up for a deck where this is more than unnecessary...what I'm saying is "why not just play Pyroclasm/Firespout maindecked if necessary or Faerie Macabre in the sideboard post rotation?" Youll want space for a more optimal card if anything, and if youre not just trying to fill deck space then you might want to research a more dynamic tech.
This thread has gone way off-topic here, the deck list was supposed to be an example of heavy color requirements in the evolution of the format. Toast is nice and all, but I think we need more of Alara to be spoiled to see what decks the command is a safe 2-4 of in
@ Ravarshi- I had been working on something like your list for a bit...meaning that it used Ashenmoor Liege to boost Evasive Bitterblossom Tokens -Dusk Urchins doesnt work in this deck...played it-, but I was trying to build it around a RDL skeleton w/ a moderate creature package (which I still want to try, but rift bolt -Favorite burnspell in standard- is rotating and shock is a card that entices you to gas out). Right now I am just waiting to see what cards we get in red to figure out what direction I am taking it
Yo I-N-S you usually had the right perspective on the transference and lack-there-of of the decks in the format {-Previously DarkInk117, Gleemax Forums-}. (But where are your 4 cryptic command? I thought Grow needed X-for-1 package bonuses to stabilize control in this format)
And, the majority of the previous post is right, this deck cannot be considered Gro without the necessary UX/g effect category of Draw-Alteration and Counter-Control (I believe that with enough of either there is a possible method that could allow Gro players to move removal into the sideboard)
ChrisNutton DOES hold somewhat of a point, but to be honest the player's opinion is where skill is determined, since she most likely plays better while the card genre shes used to is at her disposal. I still say that Chameleon Colossus should be included as a 4 of because he really can help win games in B/G.
You all seem to forget something though, its her choice what she plays...and he pays for it if you all promote standard B/G like it has a 10 Commandments.
Honestly Necroticah, I suggest you use the methods of research and trial and error to fix your problem
your girlfriend sounds like she would like some of the variants of Red Deck Looses (Burn) -if they can still get their 20 damage in the metagame-
I agree with Chameleon Colossus in the deck, but if she doesnt, there really isnt much you can do, so help her see what suits her playstyle in the deck and what doesnt.
@ Wombat- Actually I was thinking of the latter, in mainly UG Miracle-Grow variants (no, putting dryad in a deck does not make it 'Miracle-Grow') depending on the decktype of the build, simply because being able to Retrace the spell turns your unnecessary lands into Reinforce 1-1U under the circumstances the matchup creates for the deck to solve. And actually I just think that in U/G, anything that says "Minor Spell Abuse" kind of likes quirion dryad.
I had known that the Dryad only gains 1 counter per spell from being targeted itself, however I think that the extra lands that are wasted in the deck can be put to another minor use, since Raven's crime is the only other good Retrace Spell that generates benefit.
Anyway, as to not turn this into Quirion Dryad/Miracle Grow Thread #138...
Something I figure wouldn't be a bad start, regardless of what gets added or cut out
