Multi-color, I'm U/B all the way. But the U/B hybrids seem... sucky. If you want to count ravnica hybrids I'd say B/G, but for shadowmoor/eventide, I gotta say B/R. Redcap is awesome, and demigod just kicks ass! I also love spiteful visions, too bad I can't find a good deck to put it in.

I can definitely see diety finding its way in after the rotation. At the moment, I prefer Korlash because of his Grandeur. In a deck like MBC, you really need those lands he finds you, at least the way it works right now. No doubt the diety is a better finisher, but we have demigod for that. Korlash isn't really meant to work that way, at least not as far as I've seen. I hardly ever get to attack with him unless he has a warhammer, cause I know he'll get chumped, and I'd rather have the huge blocker. So I can see where Diety would be nice, but I don't expect he'll replace Korlash before the rotation.

no doubt tweaking is possible. Everyone makes a few changes of their own, and though such changes are usually to account for the metagame, there's nothing wrong with trying somethin new. But there's a difference between creatively tweaking a deck, and building a different one. I see tweaking as trying thoughtsieze over rune snag, or replacing the sowers and pestermites with archmages and prowlers. But changing the focus to rogues messes with the whole build. I'd call that a different deck, and will most likely not preform as well in compettitive environments.

wouldn't that defeat the purpose of rouge faerie? by cutting out throng

yeah, dude. A compettitive faerie deck doesn't bother with rogues, unless you want to count bitterblossom tokens. The deck is pretty much bitterblossom, spellstutter, the clique, the scion, mutavault, and a lot of counter/removal. Usually sowers and pestermites find their way in. If you want to make a casual deck to play around with things like the blackguard, the prowler, the queen, what have you, that's cool too. Just don't expect it to win any high-level tournaments. Compettitive decks tend to follow a pretty specific build, with a little room for changing "nuts and bolts" according to metagame and personal preference. Building your own decks allows for more creativity, but less compettitive capabilities.

mid to late game : unmake > terror
early game : terror > unmake

terror can't target black / artifact creatures when unmake can, it is however easier to cast.

therefore it comes down to the type of matchups you are having as to whether or not unmake is worth running.

My point exactly. If you have the right mana, unmake is generally better. If you have a strong need for early removal, terror is the better choice. It's very situational, which is why I think it's smart to run two or three copies of each.

Unless you guys have an amazingly stellar match versus Lark, I would say keep unmake... It ruins a lot of persist guys, and besides that it doesn't care who it hits. I mean, you guys are MONO BLACK. It shouldn't ever be that hard to cast Unmake, and I can almost guarantee you that it's better than terror, and terror is worse in this format than Shriekmaw.

I'm going to have to agree with you on unmake. Persist anoys the heck out of me, and unmake laughs in persist's face. Plus with how much black gets played at my tournaments, the nonblack clause in terror gets really frustrating, but unmake doesn't have to worry about that. It also gets past that thorn-in-my-side, shield of the oversoul, and any other indestructables and such tricks my opponent may be running. All this versitility for one extra mana seems worth it to me. Of course, I think it's smarter to run both, since sometimes you need that fast removal more. But as for shriekmaw vs. terror? Maybe you're playing at a vastly different meta, but losing instant speed for the potential to tack on a decent creature if you can spare the five mana hardly seems worth it right now. I don't know anyone at my tournaments who main decks shriekmaw over terror.

Yeah, the instant speed makes terror the easy choice for me. The life is kind of nice, but I don't think it's worth it.

Edit: Oh and on your list:

    -1 Beseech
    -1 Bitterblossom
    -1 Corrupt or Tendrils

    +1 Hammer
    +2 Swamp (24 Should Be A Minumum)

Yeah, I guess that's the best choices to take out. I am really gonna miss that fourth bitterblossom though.

Yeah, seriously, up your land count. Every land hit is crucial in this deck, to play removal and/or whatever spell you need when you need it.

Yeah, I guess those are the best choices to take out. I'm really going to miss that fourth bitterbossom though.

Also, I suggest terror, I prefer it over unmake. Early removal is crucial VS aggressive decks, RDW in your case.

Personally, I like being able to target black creatures, and the built-in graveyard hate with unmake is really nice, I think it's worth the extra mana. But I see your point, I'm going to try 2 of each.

Taking these suggestions into account, here are the revisions I've made:
    -1 Beseech the Queen
    -1 Bitterblossom
    -1 Corrupt
    -2 Unmake
    +1 Luxodon Warhammer
    +2 Swamp
    +2 Terror

Any further suggestions? particularly on the sideboard?

to devil... i didnt know there was one?

Yeah, it's under competitive. I guess there's nothing wrong with posting a MBC deck here, but it's more likely to be seen by people who know a lot about building good MBC decks on the official thread.

As for the deck list, definitely a good start. I do have a few suggestions though. I'm wondering why doomgape over demigod. With flying, haste, self-recursion, and lower CMC, I think Demigod makes a much better finisher. The Creakwood is nice, but you'll only be getting half the p/t bonus, except on the worms (and the doomgape if you use it, but he's already big enough as is). In mono black, I don't think it's worth the 4 mana, especially since one shock kills it. I really like Extirpate, but I don't think it's worth main deck. It's a great card, but the slots could be put to better use. As for the profane commands, they're very nice, but honestly I like corrupt better. It's one more mana, but it's much more efficient at life drain, and with a creature base like this, you usually won't need the recursion most of the time. Why only one damnation? with no card draw I doubt you'll get to see it very often, let alone use it when you really need it. I'd say use at least 2, but 3 or 4 would be ideal. Here's what I would change:

    -3 Doomgape
    -2 Creakwood Liege
    -3 Extirpate
    -2 Profane Command

    +4 Demigod of Revenge
    +2 Corrupt
    +2 Damnation
    +1 Beseech the Queen
    +1 Unmake

And believe it or not, a 12 life swing in life totals is usually enough to put RDW away. I have never lost a game against RDW, and this is due mostly in part to corrupt.

Really? I lose to RDW every single time. I don't think I've ever won against RDW. Could someone give me a little advice? Fast decks have always been my weakness, especially burn. RDW is the bane of my existance. Here's the Decklist I'm currently working on, maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. (it's for post-eventide, still in playtesting)

I know it's missing Luxodon Warhammer, I've been trying to find a way to fit that in, but I'm not sure what's worth losing for it. I also need help creating a sideboard, cause that's been giving me a lot of trouble. Any other suggestiongs would be welcomed.
