This is the list I’ve been rocking for the past couple years. So much so, I’ve foiled it out barring 2 lands that can’t be foiled. By far my favorite commander to play. It’s a great 75% commander and plays very well in metas that avoid infinite, like mine.
Working on my Daretti list. I use much more stax/MLD strats. I see you have a minimal amount. Do you not like the strategy or do you think this is a better list?
Hey yall. I have a question. I double sleeve my commander decks in Ultra Pro perfect fits and Dragon Shield Mattes. Recently I purchased the Ultimate Guard Twin Flip and Tray 200+ hoping to put two commander decks in. When I went to put them in the trays, I found it to be a little too cramped for 100 doubled sleeved cards. Both the product and TCC say they fit two 100 double sleeved cards. But I can't comfortably fit them in without risk of damage. Has anyone else had this problem? Is the Ultra Pro/Dragon Shield Mattes ever so thicker that in 100 cards it's noticeable than other sleeves? I really like the deck boxes but I don't want purchase more if they don't work. On the flip side I will happily switch sleeves to get more of these amazing cases. Thanks.
I really like Surgical. I currently run 2 + 1 Ravenous Trap to help with the Dredge match up. I know Blood Moon is the stronger option, but Molten Rain is the more synergistic option. Is that worth it? Or is this the type of match up to hope to dodge and skimp on the sideboard?
What is everyone's opinion on the big mana decks? Are we good against them? I've been debating about adding in some Molten Rains for the Eldrazi/Tron/Valakut matches. I haven't played them, but I expect to play them on my next tournament since 3 of my friends are taking them.
Let me start with this is part of my Commander Roulette. The roulette is a format based on the Highlander Roulette variant. In which you build 6 decks with the singleton rule across all 6 decks. So if one deck has a Sol Ring, none of the other 5 decks may contain a Sol Ring. "Restriction breeds Creativity"
I started playing Daretti immediately after he was released. The idea of a Planeswalker Commander was sooooo cool. So I played it for a while as a mid-range control deck. After a few games I was a little frustrated that I couldn't get an Emblem off. So I set off to a world to make that happen. I arrived in the dark and scary world of Stax. Since then I've been wrecking my unprepared tables with Mass Land Destruction(MLD) and taxing effects.
Why Daretti you ask? Daretti isn't a creature so your opponent will have trouble removing it. He also doesn't get removed from all of our wrath effects. Dropping him on turn 2/3 and getting to wrath with Wildfire on turn 3/4 is an invincible feeling. Then you can weld a tax effect onto the board and watch as your "friends" squirm.
Why you would like Daretti Stax:
You enjoy playing Control
You enjoy playing tough games where every turn matters for you
Goblin Welder - The single most powerful creature in the deck. Being able to 'Weld' stax effects on and off the battlefield at instant speed. And that is only the beginning of it's power. Because you can remove opponents stuff too if they have something weaker in their graveyard.
Magus of the Moon - Moon effect in a Mono-Red deck. You mean all my nonbasic lands are Mountains? Darn! You're a 3 color deck? That hurts.
Squee, Goblin Nabob - Works really well with our general. Can also be a beasty chump blocker in a pinch.
Filigree Familiar - New addition from Kaladesh. It's a mini Solemn Simulacrum. It works pretty good with Smokestacks and is a decent blocker.
Metalworker - Creates an insane amount of mana in this deck if you can untap with it.
Lodestone Golem - Tax effect on legs. It's not the fastest clock, but 5 Damage a turn can eventually end a game. You're really playing this as another tax effect.
Kuldotha Forgemaster - Tutoring and playing any artifact in our deck is pretty powerful. And sacrificing three artifacts isn't that hard for us. This is one of the only ways to reliably cheat a Blightsteel into play.
Combustible Gearhulk - Perfect card for Daretti. Do you want to take damage in the face, while letting us fill our graveyard for some welding? No? Then you let us draw three cards? Have to pick one.
Duplicant - Weldable removal with legs. It exiles too.
Thopter Assembly - This allows us to get around a Smokestack, provides chump blocking, and is a decent clock.
Myr Battlesphere - This is our mac daddy of beaters. It's no Blightsteel, but this is our second fastest clock while making chump blocker.
Sandstone Oracle - Card advantage in Red is hard to come by. Being able to cheat it into play is pretty good. Can usually draw you 2 or 3 cards.
Blightsteel Colossus - After your opponents beg and plead for the game to end, you can give them a merciful death.
Artifacts
Lion's Eye Diamond - One of the easiest and fastest Turn 1 Daretti enablers. I'm ok with discarding my hand because most people will have a really difficult time dealing with a Turn 1 Daretti. Not to mention I'll get 2-3 draws each turn as I search for some ramp or stax effect.
Lotus Petal - A cheap and easy way to cheat on mana. This card will usually end up with a turn 2 Daretti almost every time. Plus it's really good with a Daretti Emblem.
Mox Diamond - Trading a land for an artifact mana source is good for us when we plan on blowing up all the lands anyways.
Mox Opal - 3 artifacts is trivial most times in this deck. So this is almost always a Mox Ruby.
Am I allowed to ask for a custom art for a playmat? I really want a new playmat but can't find something I really enjoy looking at for any amount of time.
So we are running about 4-5 counterspells. Do you guys miss counterspells and wish we had more?
I play the Kevin Jones version with some sideboard alterations. But I would really like another counter or two. Too many times I've been caught with my pants down I feel.
The deck is much less about the Cascade trigger on Yidris. It's meant to try and be a Midrange deck so that I can out value all my opponents. If I get a trigger from Yidris it turns most of my cards into three for ones or better. Any recommendations I would appreciate.
So I'm building a Yidris Midrange/Control list. I'm looking at this card curiously if it's even good. It's a little slow, but it's efficient and political.
Hey guys. Been a while since I've been in this area of town. But the new Yidris Commander has me all sorts of excited. I had a BUG deck I've piloted for a long time. But I feel it's time to bring some red in and change it up a little. So I'm looking at 3 new ideas. No storm decks ideas either. I've seen a bunch of people doing it, and it's just not my style.
Midrange Value. Have a deck full of 2 for ones or better. Kolaghan's Command, Shardless Agent, Mystic Confluence, Night's Whisper, Cultivate, etc. Would be sort of sweet to get a bunch of Cascade value. Would be decent in a 1 v 1 scenario but might struggle in multiplayer. But if Yidris hits it turns into 4 for 1.
Voltron. Yidris already having Tample really helps with this. But getting to Cascade into +1/+1 counter spells and Equipment followed up from additional turns/Combat steps. Most people wouldn't expect this I don't think.
Masters of Evil. Whiteless Planeswalker Control. This seems subpar to a 5 color or Atraxa, Praetor's Voice. Though being able to have an Evil Planeswalker deck seems like a fun time.
But these are the types of lists I've been brewing. I just can't decide which idea to stick to. Any ideas?
Updated with my new list. debating about switching to Leovold. He is a commander that puts a slightly larger target on me, while being a commander I might cast once in a while. It's rare for me to cast Damia. But when I do it's so good.
What is the consensus with the Gnarlwood Dryad? New Nimble Mongoose? 1/1 Deathtouch for G. Delirium for +2/+2. Any chance to see play in a RUG delver list or is it just too greedy?
I also would like to know about the Jund Match ups I could never place myself on a winning side so I abondoned the deck with my LGS high activity of Jund decks. Wouldn't mind picking this up as I love the colors and the style. Just tough that one of our toughest match ups is the best deck in the meta.

Trying these changes...
-Earthquake
+Chandra, Flamecaller
Chandra's three modes are all very relevant. She is a clock, Draws us to playable spells/lands, and can wrath small creatures like Earthquake.

Masters of Evil. Whiteless Planeswalker Control. This seems subpar to a 5 color or Atraxa, Praetor's Voice. Though being able to have an Evil Planeswalker deck seems like a fun time.
