Quote from PatLePirateI think this format will looks like Draw-Go vs Draw-Go all day long and the first who'll get mill by cards like nephalia drownyard gonna lose..
Quote from ScarmaskI'm amazed they didn't wait to see what impact BB and Wild Nacatl would have on the format before doing something as crazy as banning DRS.
Quote from MastodonHonestly, I think we will see BG/x making a big shift over to either white for lingering souls/KotR/kitchen finks, or it will shift back towards the loam assualt type of deck. Both decks heavily utilized the graveyard. I think BG/x will probably stay up on the top tables, just not as much as before which is nice.
It's hard to say where the meta will go now. DRS kept a lot of things out of the format. With it being gone, the list of cards that are playable again is nearly endless.
Here is a list off the top of my head what is now considerably more playable with DRS gone (some of which are already seeing some play):
DeckMagic OnlineOCTGN2ApprenticeBuy These Cards
1 Seismic Assault1 Raven's Crime1 Life from the Loam1 Gifts Ungiven1 Mystical teachings1 Vengevine1 Bloodghast1 Lingering Souls1 Unburial Rites1 Snapcaster Mage1 Knight of the Reliquary1 Kitchen Finks1 think twice1 Darkblast1 Forbidden Alchemy1 Goryo's Vengeance1 Footsteps of the Goryo1 Murderous Redcap1 Tarmogoyf (seems kind of funny, but it gets better with DRS gone)1 Hellspark Elemental
That's a lot of ****, and a lot of different strategies now become significantly more viable. Best bring your Scoozes.
Quote from OglorGrim Lavamancer doesn't quite fill the same role. Something like Arbor Elf is far more likely to ramp into a turn 2 Liliana. Bloodbraid Elf doesn't quite deserve a ban, but I think Maro's too stubborn to unban it.
Quote from SteBnice we are back at idiotic batch changing.
worked out really well the last two times.
well at least we got unbannings ...
