I really want to build a variant that uses Trostani's Summoner and Vitu Ghazi Guildmage as the wincon. Populating a Summoner made by Seance sounds so good on paper.
It could be in Junk colors to provide flexibility. Something with Jarad's Orders, to make a toolbox, maybe?
Bonfire doesn't work with Possibility Storm - you'll always cascade into another copy because it's the only sorcery in your library, but X will be zero on the one you cascade into.
Well yes, but I was thinking I could use a sweeper when the Possibility Storm isn't in play yet. Of the sweepers available in the Naya colors, Mizzium Mortars is as bad as Bonfire with Storm in play, Rolling Tremblor might not matter enough, and Blasphemous Act has that horrendous mana cost.
You know, I'm actually on board with this. I'd Seance it out for the token in addition to the Counterparts though. And a bunch of clones.
Seance with a bunch of clone creatures and Vitu Ghazi guildmage! Now you just have to decide if you want red (Loot) or black (Grisly Salvage). Either way, you get Mulch and Forbidden Alchemy.
So in essence, the only thing you play on your own turn is either Talrand or Pillar of Flame. As my friend pointed out, it's like a weird version of U/W Flash. Wolfir Avenger was an unexpected all-star, it does everything, and it matches up favorably with Thragtusks.
The basic concept of the deck is to cast an early green creature, and protect it with counterspells while hopefully riding it all the way to victory. Burn spells try to get rid of whatever gets in the way.
In theory, the synergy of werewolves with counterspells will allow them to transform early and swing for the fences. Quirion Dryad also benefits from having a multitude of cheap non-green spells.
Sideboard is a work in progress, but is mostly geared towards beating aggro. The peddler/staticaster combo is ridiculous against token decks, and Huntmaster helps provide additional insurance. Memory's Journey is for matchups where the opponent's graveyard is pivotal.
My current problem is whether I should stretch the manabase to include green, so that I can have 3 copies each of Ancient Grudge, Ray of Revelation and Memory's Journey in the sideboard. I'm also thinking about an alternative Misthollow Griffin sideboard, but it's not as attractive as the one that splashes green.
Ideally, I'd be able to replace 2 Hallowed Fountain with 2 Sacred Foundry when Gatecrash hits.
Izzet Charm smooths out this deck so much! It solves so many problems: Early game creature? Shock it. Some spell you don't want resolving? Miscalculate it. Need filtering? Here, have a looting.
Angel of Glory's Rise is very very nice with the Alchemist's Apprentice, and also serves as a wrath versus zombies.
Augur of Bolas is sort of eh, but it's better in testing than Shrieking Skaab because of 3 toughness.
And, it's so much fun watching people divvy up Fact or Fiction piles in Standard again. Remember that you want the creatures in the graveyard and the spells in your hand and you'll see the impossible situation you put your opponents into whenever Sphinx hits.

Hmm. Maybe Terminus might be the best fit!

Pairing Mauler with Tandem Lookout on turn 3 seems rather strong.

4 Snapcaster Mage

I guess I should call it RUG FLASH now?
Can be seance'd, and the token can populate itself to stick around, and populate some more.
