I've always played Inkmoth/Kessig in bloom. If your list is tight, you can cut inkmoth. Kessig was the real deal! In the version I was playing I used 4 Sakura-Tribe Scout instead of Serum Visions. So I had dorks and plant tokens to pump by 5 every turn.
Do you think 4 Azusa is necessary? Unless you have ways to jam her turn 2, I think 3 is fine.
Ah Trinket Mage. Brings back memories. This deck used popped up on MTGO once in 2012-2013. I bought into it because I was just getting into modern and I love silly rogue decks. Very early on the deck played Trinket Mage as well as Wargate instead of hive mind and pact of negation.
While Trinket Mage does what it does, I don't think it solves our current problem of being slowed down. I would like to figure out a way to become consistent on turn 3. Turn 4 just feels ******* slow. However, you would all be pleased to know that during testing on cockatrice yesterday I got a turn 2 kill. Oh man was the opponent salty. I was playing Explores though -- feels horrible.
I'll be testing the following:
- No hive mind or pact of negation. I think we are too slow to make this good and it's also probably terrible against the upcoming meta.
- 4 Sakura-Tribe Scout + 4 Skyshroud Ranger
- A number of Retreat to Coralhelm and Meloku the Clouded Mirror for sweet new combos
- Wargate (this was pretty useful as it also acted as a ramp card getting a land for 3 mana)
If you want to play a 4th Azusa you really need ways to get her out on turn 2 to set up a turn 3 kill.
Yawn. Maybe they should change the rule to "no goldfishing before turn 4"? To combo turn 2 with bloom you needed like 5 specific cards in your opening hand lmao.
Hmm I wonder if they will have actual puzzles to solve like Legacy Elves or Storm combo? Maybe Doomsday? Or will there be attacking with scathe zombie to attract all the Standard pre-teens?
Alright, so I haven't played Modern in a while (due to many whiners/kids/low-teens coming from Standard). I've played Amulet Bloom since the beginning (circa. 2013?). Is this really going to get banned? If so, should I switch to Grishoalbrand or is this going to get banned as well?
Also, is it april fools? Why am I hearing whiners from CFB and SCG about removing 8th and 9th? Do they really want another Standard?
Furthermore, this nonsense about "non-magic" is mega-dumb. You do realize some people like playing lock-down decks right? If you want to win with your grey ogres and your merfolk switch to Limited.

Cards from 8th and 9th edition are banned. Reason: Storm Crow was too strong and "pros" don't like these sets.
All non-creature spells are banned. Reason: Standard pre-teens are frustrated that their grizzly bears are getting countered and destroyed.
All non interactive cards are banned (yes, this includes lands). Reason: Non-interactive games aren't fun.
