Alright I did so in the Custom Set section, the link to the thread is http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/creativity/custom-card-creation/custom-set-creation-and/573254-the-ultimate-custom-cube

or just to the rest of the cube is http://s829.photobucket.com/user/stevenlindsay1/library/?sort=3&page=1

    Thanks for the input!

Vengeful Prophet should probably have a mana cost for the token.
Tactical edge switched to Soldiers get +1/+0 maybe.
Prayer of the Fallen, not sure yet but I can see the issues.
Haunted Heirloom, not sure why it has flying. Maybe First Strike or Deathtouch instead.

I really enjoy designing cards in my spare time, but I don't quite have the patience to stick with a theme and build an entire set anymore. Despite my random pattern I managed to make a cube that's mechanically rounded and before posting the link (Photobucket gallery unfortunately, I lack the patience to copy them all one by one.) This cube is 420 cards and I would like to get a critique on all the cards if possible and improvements where needed, because I know for a fact it will definitely be needed.

I'll let you guys just dive in and discover the themes, no new mechanics show up unfortunately.

This is the Beta for the 420 card cube that I have created over time. It has not yet been tested, want to sort out some kinks before I go ahead and print and play. I'm going to post them one color at a time starting with white to be able to get proper critique on each color, I have borrowed some ideas I saw on this forum.

Slightly disappointed with the Orzhov mythic.. I expected something less restrictive.

Reading through the comments relating to Manipulator really shows how spoiled magic players have become. I'm sorry it can't steal a creature for turn and requires an investment to get going. Isn't that why decks are designed around the mechanics utilized. I think everybody is just getting too used to throwing all the best cards of X colors together and having decks work like that rather then designing decks that work well together. The Manipulator is a fine creature, if it were any more powerful it would be broken, better to have something be weaker then to have it warp the format.

Stoneforge Mystic was part of a 2 card combo that was exceedingly powerful aswell as back to back with a block with a lot of very powerful equipments that made it one of the best 2 mana tutors ever in standard. It was also paired with Jace, the Mind Sculptor... I don't think anything needs to be said about that. Thragtusk is just very strong at delaying games.. it's not breaking anything, I still like it better then Valakut ramp, it creates very reactive games.

Thragtusk will not be banned.. It's nowhere near as degenerate as Titans were. It wont be reprinted however.

Posts like Lord Void make me happy that someone like him will never, ever be designing Magic because they have absolutely no idea how the game works/should work.

Counters are unfun. Period. Full stop. They lead to unfun gameplay and the only people who like counters are people that don't like to play Magic. It's that simple. It's the very nature of what a counter is. You don't want to play against the threat.

No one likes being told they can't play their cards. No one likes being told they can't play their game. Magic is unique in that it's one of the very few games out there that doesn't let people play their game because of counters.

Counters have been and will continue to be a mistake of Magic. That's why they're moving toward costing counters much less aggressively. So, pretty much counter supporters are wrong. It's that simple.

It's obvious you play this game at a very casual level. Counters keep the game in older formats from getting out of control, without Force of Will, Daze and other such cards the format would just be a race of who can go off first. And counterspells really just add another dynamic to the game, you need to learn how to bluff, bait and play around them. If you can't handle counters then go play Yu-Gi-Oh, you obviously aren't any good at this.

Neither... This isn't a deck that works on a budget. It's just too underwhelming when you restrict the good cards.

I am disappointed. Like, really? Give us a good rakdos card other than dreadbore. All of the other charms > Rakdos charm is my prediction (yes this includes gatecrash charms). The card just isn't good. Blowing up an artifact for 2 is bad now that smelt is around. Exiling a graveyard? That art doesn't imply that at all and what's the point when tormod's crypt is around to exile GY's for free? The 1 damage clause for each creature thing is pretty worthless as well. Overall, this card makes me want to vomit.

Ok so I should have 4x Smelt and 4x Tormod's Crypt in my sideboard? I can now do it with just the Charm and on top of that punish token and swarm decks. By no means is this the best charm but it is nowhere near bad either.

Wastelands aren't such a big deal.. they're 4x, and the list is just splashed. Since they never are dead cards against fns (remember that mutavaults are necessary for standstills), adding a color in order to improve bad match-ups isn't a bad idea. Anyway, you could always put fetchlands and a couple of basic lands for this kind of problems. Loam decks aren't problematic because black allows Extirpate in side, that is resolutive against it and a lot of other decks.

Main problem of monoU FNS is that there are too many weak cards, like Mistblade Shinobi, Signal Pest, Ornithopter and Zephyr Sprite. Adding a splash means that you can cut them off for other choices blue doesn't have. Bitterblossom, for example, is a really great card that fills the battlefield with creatures and, at the same time, have a fantastic sinergy with standstills and spellstutter sprites. If one of the main purposes of the deck is to softly lock the opponent, Bitterblossom is one of the best choices possibles for this deck.

Back to basics isn't such a good card. It isn't resolutive, has an expensive cc and can be countered/destroyed easily (remember that the few 3 colored decks in the meta usually play blue and green.. and the same decks usually plays 1cc/2cc cards like delver of tarmogoyf.. btb doesn't stop them.. Maybe something like a blue blood moon would have been stronger!)

I'm going to hope that Mistblade shinobi being weak is a joke. I would put it as the strongest of all three ninjas run. As for Ornithopter and Zephyr Sprite, I don't run either and I only keep Signal Pest in as a need for a one drop and it will be replace by Judge's Familiar as of that release. The legacy meta in my area is riddled with 3 color decks and other non-basic heavy decks, as most metas seem to be at this moment and back to basics is an absolute champion. If I can lock down theyre mana into them relying on dropping a couple lands to resolve their goyfs/delvers then its all fine since they'll either get countered or shinobi'd back to their hands.
