$20 entry fee. 10% of total entry fees will go to the store; 90% cash will be paid out to the top 4. 45% will go to 1st place, 25% will go to 2nd place, 10% each will go to 3rd and 4th.
my only gripes would be the somewhat eratic pacing of the pics. i know you said you were trying to keep in time with the music, but what are you trying to promote, the cards or the music?
it would have been nice if somewhere along the video you had the artist/s responsible for the cards listed as well. some people may think that you are trying to take credit for their work and may not be too happy about that. at the very least state that you werent the artist (unless you were on some of the cards).
beyond that it was an interesting concept and i enjoyed the music.
On my earlier altered art vids I went out of my way to explain where these pics came from (mostly SCG forums) and a bit about who did the song.
It turns out, many people don't read the info section. A lot of people ask me how I made those cards, etc.
I make the vids because I can, sometimes using a song that I would like to have access to on YouTube (either my own songs or just the obscure stuff I listen to) plus it's supposed to be kind of like an art gallery.
The pace was mostly dctermined by the pace of the music. I'm not super awesome at it, but when the music changes, so do the pics.
And yes, it's very much a slideshow.
for the last bit (pics flashing by quickly), it was a homage to Kubrik's A ClockWork Orange montage of still pics etc. Initially, I had to add pics that I may or may not have included in previous vids, just to have enough to match the 5 1/2 minute song. That was the reason for the quicky switches between pics.
