Okay, so now I am consterned.

The recent two cards spoiled yesterday are called Hedron Matrix and Dreamstone Hedron.

The Hedron's flavor text says: Only the Eldrazi thinks in the warped paths required to open the hedrons and tap the power within.

The Matrix's flavor text says that the hedrons awoke in the same time as the Eldrazi, forming superstructures of immeasurable magic power.

Mechanically, the card empowers the bearer (though the art could be interpreted also as the hedrons trapping the Eldrazi in a force bubble, which would make more sense)

    My question is...what the heck?

From the feature article, we know that the hedrons were created as hubs of aetheric grid that kept the Titans in physical form on Zendikar. It does not make sense that they are now able to tap into them and use them for energy/power/wisdom boost/whatever... it is like putting a man into jail whose bars are convenient to easily turn into knives or guns once loosened a bit.

Something just probably went terribly wrong for the lithomancer...:cool2:

Today we got an Answer to this Question in the Tuktuk Article

    http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/stf/85

Although the hedrons were created to trap the Eldrazi, over the millennia a peculiar bond developed between monstrosity and stone. As the Eldrazi tested the bars of their prison, the hedrons took on some of the dread energies of the Eldrazi themselves, like statues worn bright by oily hands. Today, many hedrons have an intimate connection with the Eldrazi monstrosities and their brood lineages of Eldrazi drones and spawn. Sometimes hedrons deep in underground ruins resonate so strongly with Eldrazi magic that some sensitive souls report hearing cryptic whispers from the stones.

Yes with every thing said the jailing of the Eldrazi ist getting more and more confusing.

First the thing with Ugin from the Webcomics it sounded like he sacrificed himself to create the Eye of Ugin but now in the Article nothin is said about that and he seems to be fine.

But maybe the Hedrons are filled with a whole lot of Mana to keep the Eldrazi in physical form. So the Lithomancer created them that way that no normal thinking person could use there Power. Now if the Eldrazi awaken and steal some Hedrons and found a way to open them (either do the long slumber of the Titans where they had time to "think" whatever that meens for Eldrazi or do the way there Minds work there are such twisted beings that they can open them). If it is that way then it would make atleast a little bit of sense how they could use that Power we have seen a lot Eldrazi Pictures with them having Hedrons somewhere mostly between there Hands. But it is still confusing as hell.

I still think Bolas send Sarkhan not for the Awakening to Zendikar. As I read it he is send there as a Guardian so Bolas found out what the Eye does and send Sarkhan there as a Guardian so that the Eldrazi won't Arise. The rest that Chandra und Jace shows up and Battle the Way that the Eldrazi Arise hmmmm what about something like an Interplanar accident **** happens.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it was Sarkhan's intention to release the Eldrazi. He just wanted "the serpent's crown", whatever he meant by that. The seal was broken accidentally when Jace entered the room (three planeswalkers made it, so perhaps the presence of three Sparks deactivated it), which Vol could hardly foresee, let alone plan. His master, Nicol Bolas, on the other hand...

I don't think so either. If he really is possessed by Ugin then he would do anything to keep the Eldrazi sealed. I think when Vol speeks with these strange Speechbubbles "I made many sacrifices..." that it is Ugin speeking trough him. So the Serpent Crown could meen to bring Ugin back to Live.

But thats the point where I'am confused at the moment. Did Ugin sacrificed himself to seal the Eldrazi and If so why was it stated that all three Walkers left Zendikar? Vol said in the Second Journy to the Eye Comic that "The Dragon King birthed this labyrinth his sacrifice became the mortar"

    Now I have two Theories

1.) So here is my Theory how the Ritual of sealing Worked:

    1. The unknown Guy created the Hedrons (because Vol stated "Still this is no mere Stone it's a Mason Block a Masters Tool") With them they gatherd enough Mana from the World or trough there own Power to go to the Next step.

    2. Here I think comes Sorin's ability of Blood Magic to a use (like stated above Vol said something about Blood and Mortar). Trough that they sacrificed Ugin to Create the Eye of Ugin a Seal of Pure Mana and Crystaline old Fire that would hold the Eldrazi locked.

2.) Here comes my Second Theory

Vol stated the Ugin hungers for a Ash Gift or Something. Maybe the Eye slowly lost Power through the Mending or something and Ugin needed Power again so Vol was Orderd to bring Chandra to him and Sacrifice her. Or another way Ugin want to live again and needed Chandra sacrificed as the Ashen Gift to come to Life again.

Just some Theories flowing through my Head for some Days Smile

So, now that we know that Ula, Cosi and Emeria are alternative names for the Eldrazi, why can't Ugin be an alternative name for the dragon planeswalker?

Because as we can read out of Sarkhan wild Word throw around in the Second Comic Part of Journey to the Eye that Ugin Sacrificed himself to build the Eye so no Bolas.

And Ugin is called the Spirit Dragon and probably the one we can see in the Background of Sarkhans new Art.

Shroud meens "This creature can't be the target of spells or abilities."

That meens that I can't target them with something like Lightning Bolt.

I know that Protection doesn't Protect when it isn't target directly with Cards like Wrath of God.

So now my Question is does this work for Shroud too?

When something like Primal Rage is in play does my Kalonian Behemoth get Trample?

And Gideon fighting Eldrazi head on like that? Even Sorin didn't slice the big guys with his sword.... (okay, Teeth of Akoum book cover shows him using his sword, but most certainly against a vanguard)

Thats because he is fighting for the Interplanar Catholic Church there you get everything you need to kill an Eldrazi like a prayer book, holy water and the best of all a cool arm Whip which beats everything in your Way :p

Overall nice Art glad we finally got a Big Art for the PW's hurray for Sarkhan being possesd by a new Dragon I recently think it's a hobby of him.

Could this "Demon" be one of those Broodlings things?
Because it doesn't look like its that kind of Badass that other Demons are.

And a Hurray for the return of Sarkhan (even in a odd pose) it was time I mean he was on Zendikar before Chandra and Jace and both received a Card first.

    Possible plot idea:
Sarkhan gets send to Zendikar from Bolas to search new ways to increase his power. Bolas explores Zendikar (I guess transforming into a dragon can be quite handy on those flying rocks and mountains ^^) and finds Ugins "tomb". But the spirit is still alive and powerful, casting away Bolas' control and reasons with Sarkhan (maybe it was Ugin who made Sarkhan's spark to flare). Sarkhan now knows about the Eldrazi and Ugin knew other would be coming and recruited Sarkhan as Guardian for the "prison control"?

Thats exactly what I was thinking Sarkhan spark flared when he got in contact with a Spirit Dragon. So maybe he Ugin wanted to Recruit him an Sarkhan was Searching for him but Bolas got him first. So after he got to Zendikar by whatever Reason he found his Connecting again Ugin frees him and he became a Guardian. Because even if he's Insane why the hell would he defend a Cave and say that he and his Sentris are here the defend the Secrets.

Well, about the Ugin painting on the Ghostflame card. I still believe that the FS-cards have to be seperated into:

Yeah but still the only Pictures we've got from him are Paintings on Walls were the most look like the one on the Body of the Ghostflame Guy.

I just reread the Comic and now I have a Question.

When Sarkhan is turning into a Dragon is he still himself or is it Ugin controlling him? because he speaks those strange Words from the previews Comic and said that he made many Sacrifices (himself to seal the Eldrazi) and want the Serpent Crown.

Atleast when he's a Dragon It can't be Ugins Dragon Form because the only two Pictures we have from him (Comic and the Guy from Ghost Fires Body Painting) let him look like a serpent Dragon rather then that what Sarkhan is turning into.

I rather think it is one of the Eldrazi.
I didn't read the Guide (I'am going to school in a few Minutes)
But I think its more Possiple to be a Eldrazi beacause they are locked away anyway.
