I feel that the gold blocks invasion and Ravinca would be the best source of the "gold archtype uncommons" that every set has now for drafting purposes.
Things like reanimate, the Mirage tutors, counterspell, dark ritual, cabal ritual, and three visits are all viable common/uncommon reprints.
Trying to pin down what mechanics or two color combination themes will help identity what could be reprinted. Like flashback, buyback, kicker, bushido. Horsemanship is unlikely because they would have to do a fair amount and its redundent with flying
I see the mirage diamonds or signets being in as mana fixers.
mana crypt and mana vault are possible but such fast mana along with black and red rituals seems like too much fast mana for a draft set.
I think it would be interesting if they printed NO modern legal cards so basically nothing pre Mirrirdin/8th but I doubt that. Though that would lead to atrocious rares
Yes he still could use the green to filter... the 1required to filter can be any mana still like the 1 in the skyshroud elf's cost. Cards that tap for 1 add 1 colorless. Old cards that require 1 in costs can be any mana.
Well biologically speaking they seem like amphibians which are the most sensitive group of animals to climate change. .or planar destruction. So that could be a good way creative could explain their absence and write then off.
I'm really ashamed of my self as a Vorthos but I seemed to have missed this. But when did the other two titans leave Zendikar? Someone was telling me this a year ago but didn't have a source and now it seems to be true. Was there some uncharted realms or something?

However, the focus of this set will be the 5 walkers. Though there does seem to be a cycle of legendary creatures like Hixus for Gideon.
Maybe Liliana wanted to use Squee for a way to obtain immortality. (Not really, that would be so stupid. Especially since Liliana is supposed to have a sad back story, dead lover, dead sibling, something like that.)
I have a kid at my LGS who built a colorless Rakdos that's filled with alot of underpowered guys. It's still pretty impressive to watch him drop his hand into play from a pandemonium to shock, play Rakdos then drop his hand of artifacts. He always gets blown out, but it's still impressive.
[acard]squee, goblin nabob[/card] MRC is amazing. He's free card advantage. Use lots of cars that discard cards and never run out of steam.

Great article especially the end section about getting new players. I work at a newly opened store and have been establishing a new EDH group. I've played EDH for 8 years and most of the kids who play at my store are new to magic in general so its cute being the big frog in the little pond but I've also been cultivating them helping them upgrade their decks without breaking their wallets. Sidisi and Marchesa budget decks were a exciting challange since i couldn't just stick in Arcbound Ravager, damnations, expensive tutors, etc. These precons are very decent starting points and I'm excited to see how these kids grow because when they are able to push me back i get to get stronger too.
