Bolas' in my opinion, is most like Darth Revan before he was redeemed. He doesn't want to destroy everything, or prove himself to anyone. He wants to control everything, and he knows who and what to manipulate or destroy to do that.

And because someone had to say it, Bolas' ego level is OVER 9000!!!

While I would love Ral to show up in either Dark Ascension or "Roll" (as its impossible for him to be in INN), the background of his image IS ravnica. There are similarities to some scenes on Innistrad, but the floating buildings are from Ravnica. Don't believe me? Look at the webcomics, specifcally "The Veil's Curse" when Garruk goes to Ravnica to find Jace.

Thanks for the link to the INN animated trailer. It does seem to crush my hopes for werewolf Garruk. Though he does reference the monstosity he could become... the dream isn't dead :p

(I won't admit defeat til he's spoiled lol)

And yes, I was referring to Liliana's artwork that was 'dripping with detail' as Greg Argyle described it

There isn't really proof of 13 as a "theme" so much as a cycle of spells that involve the number 13. Not every single thing that's equal to twelve necessarily has to be shifted to 13 precisely in a set like this just to support a minor flavor element like that. Trying to use this as proof when much more basic pieces of evidence (like the fact that Garruk's transformed art is not of a guy who's turned into a wolf) are in play counteracting it is kind of silly.

Not that I'm typically inclined to argue with moderators, but I must point out that the 'screaming' Garruk isn't confirmed as PW art. The image was released before the binder art which we know is his day side. That means the other art could have just been concept art or 'for fun' art just like the second Liliana art. The night side could be (as I hope it is) a werewolf.

On top of everything already said for Garruk being a werewolf. Imagine the dynamic gameplay Garruk would inspire if he had a douchy ultimate (like jtms or bolas) on his werewolf side. Your opponent would do everything he could to stop Garruk from transforming

where the hell does that second person suddenly come from?

    Also from the video:

"All the werewolves.... every double faced red and green card is a werewolf." -> for me it sounds also like he might have another thought in his head and messed up at that point. It was a live interview, people mess up there quite frequently. It sounds for me more like he wanted to say:

"All the werewolves creatures... every double face red and green creature card is a werewolf"

Sounds to me like he was just being careful how he worded his answer. After all, there spoilers are being guarded closely. No other set has had this level of secrecy, especialy after the NPH leaks.

Who on earth confirmed he is a werewolf? I keep seeing people tout this, but I haven't seen any evidence to back it up.

And no one has confirmed him as a werewolf, but there is a lot of evidence supporting the idea. I made a thread with my ideas, but someone shut it down...

    http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=351495

And yes, I know MaRo confirmed Garruk as the 5 loyalty ability PW, so ignore the part about Kasow-Rossing's forum thread. :p

    (1) MaRo didn't just say all red and green transform creatures are werewolves, he said all red and green transform CARDS are werewolves. Seriously, watch the video of the interview. No joke.
    (2) MaRo did confirm today (or yesterday idk) that Garruk was our 5 ability walker which means he IS a walker on both sides, but even though Garruk doesn't transform into a werewolf creature (WW for the sake of typing), he could have WW art on his night side, and be a WW just like Nissa is an elf, and Ajani is a Leonin. His transform could be the first static ability on a Planeswalker and be the same as any other WW.
    (3) The current idea that his night-side art is already spoiled is just that, a theory; more speculation, just like the theory he is a WW. The art is amazing and fully worthy of a PW card, but then again, there are tons of cards out there that feature our favorite planeswalkers but are not PW cards themselves.

Don't insult each other over their idea and speculations. It ruins the fun of the debate Wink

This is just plain wrong. The spark effectivly protected Karn COMPLETELY until he sacced his spark to close the rift which at the same moment made hum vulnerable to it.

I'm not going to argue the Karn point as I didn't play back them nor read the older books, however in the book "Quest for Karn", Venser said that none of the three walkers were immune, only resistant. Maybe its a neo-walker thing?

I know this has been addressed in another forum but many forum members it seems wont read past the frst few pages so I felt it deserved its own discussion.

There are to few details on Garruk at the moment, but what we know is (1) Garruk Relentless is mono-green and costs 3G, (2) There are two art pieces of Garruk, both apparently showing different sides of him, one where he's in control and another where he's apparently lost it, and (3) he's a transformation card.

Several pieces of evidence I want to put forth come from the 2nd video released by Wizards last night addressing Double Faced Cards which can be found here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r16zg1nFnu8&feature=BFa&list=PL3D6F48D73E58C8AB&lf=player_embedded

Without going into card creation, the following pieces of evidence for booth sides are why I'm posting in the speculation forums.
Arguements for Garruk being a werewolf:
1 - He is a transformation card and in MaRo's interview in the video above, at marker 3:06, says "Every single red and green double faced card is a werewolf". This is the biggest arguement for Garruk's nightside being a werewolf.
2 - Looking at the checklist card, there are 13 red and green double-faced cards including Garruk. And has been said many times, 13 is a re-occuring theme in Innistrad.
3 - We don't know anything about the curse that Liliana put on Garruk or whether it was her design enhanced by the veil, or from the veil itself. All we know is that it is corrupting Garruk. This could easily be the start of a lyncanthropy curse, seeing as the artwork from Innistrad has humans vs werewolves (meaning the humans affected by the werwolf curse were also corrupted).
The Arguements I've heard for Garruk not being a Werewolf:
1 - There are two pictures of Garruk, both of which look like Planeswalker art and show two sides of Garruk. The screaming art which is believed to be the night side of Garruk was on the DotP contest page, which only showed planeswalker art.
2 - Many people believe Garruk will be green black - or even mono black at night due to his curse. If so, Garruk cannot be a werewolf becauss there are no black werewolves in innistrad. This is backed up on the Innistrad mechanics page on dailymtg.com which states "The two faces of a double-faced card are often the same color, but not always."

Further more, though I would love to see Garruk go between a PW and a legendary creature, Its my opinion that it wont happen. But still, there is a small chance of this happening if Kassow-Rossing was right about Liliana being the 5 ability planeswalker. After all, in a review of his forum (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=350966) he had shown Viper enough evidence to unlock his forum. I tend to trust the moderators on this site because more often then not, their gut instincts are right and so if Viper believed the evidence was solid enough to re-open the forum, my hopes are higher.

Lastly, I believe Garruk is a werewolf because there are MANY MANY MANY cards who's artwork features a planeswalker such as Jace's Erasure, Distant memories, DD: Angelic Vs Demonic's version of Demonic Tutor, the list goes on. I think the "night" version of Garruk could easily be the image of a sorcery, instant, or even one of the new curse cards.

If a spark can protect from Phyrexian Oil, why would Lycanthropy be able to affect a Planeswalker.

    (1) The spark doesn't protect a PW from phyrexian oil, only slows its progress and (2) The oil is a physical infection while Lycanthropy is a curse

Just a question, where did it say Garruk was a werewolf?

Nothing has said Garruk is a werewolf. That is my speculation because of MaRo's comment thay all green transform cards are werewolves and we know garruks mana cost is (3)G. Furthermore, my last point that previous sets had many cards with a PW as the centerpiece of there art but were not the PW card themselves. How many cards throughout the DON block featured Karn art? Nothing says that the 'night' Garruk art is the actual card.

On the fact of the veil curse, we don't know anything about it or what it does
