I used to play infect years ago, when Tron (the deck I hate the most nowadays) was a bye.
Now, with ballista, I'm staying away from infect, even with this beauty of a pump spell.
Funny how tron was a bye for my burn, infect, and rug scapeshift decks years ago, and now it's a pretty bad MU. Will wotc hear my tears and get something out of tron?
When I saw today's previews were slivers my heart sank a little. Why are they so wicked that they didn't spoil counterspell already? I bet they said, well, day1 goes for force, next monday counterspell.
Good think KCI is banned, because it would have yet another way of getting its creatures in or out of the bin.
Maybe Jeskai Thopter Sword becomes a thing?
That unannounced preview card seems to me more like a catch-all sideboard card, since he is talking about damping sphere, but a better one at that, that deals both with aggro and tron.
Please stop talking about "wasted" mythic slots... every mythic slot that has a bad card is a success, we want the good cards at common, uncommon and rare in that order preferably.
One situation where Giver of Runes really can blank removal is in conjunction with Spellskite, which can soak up anything aimed at giver and then be granted protection.
When I need 2 specific cards to make a whole, I prefer two cards that win the game haha. Now, seriously, I'm not sure if new mom will see play... maybe in the white taxes deck, I'm not sure cos I'm not an expert on that deck, but other than that, I doubt she will be played. She is a big downgrade from original mom.
Btw, I'm biting my nails already, there are 4 number spots where Counterspell fits, will they spoil it already?? Seriously hope they included it.
More creatures in Modern, blue is busted in Legacy, and Force of Will
If this is a sneeky breeky way to make people more aware that Force of Negation is a damn good card then I agree
Hahaha, bingo, pro points for you!
Yeah, I agree it's pretty much what everyone has said, less creatures, maybe less burn, and fow. How much weight each of those things represents in the scale is hard to know, but I think fow is the main one.
I wanted to open a discussion about the reasons why, so far, Jace TMS is better in legacy than it is in Modern, since, you know, most cards that are good in legacy should be even better in modern.
FON: Not being able to hit creatures severly undermines the card against aggro, but in control decks you don't need that with so much removal.
On the other hand, something no one mentioned is the easy to hard cast cost of 1UU. Miles better than fow in that deppartment.
This card is a format defining card.
It's funny that they don't let you play it during your turn to not be able to protect your combo. Wizards says no to fow in combo decks haha.
Prohibit seems underwhelming and hoping for counterspell.
Against many-creatures-aggro you tutor an Ostone, what's the problem? It's not like you are gonna get that off faster without Karn. Against high power creatures you probably get bridge better.
O stone? You cut it and add 1 to your SB. Easy.
Against burn the wurmcoil if fine, and if you are a little too much pressured you grab a bottle gnomes or something.
I hate tron and I'm extremely happy for this new Karn. It's so broken that it will get something banned from that deck. Hopefully the tower itself (but they will just ban karn), but yes, I know, not the place to talk about that here.
Strom? T3 trinishphere!
Aggro? T3 bridge!
Affinity? Hahahahahaa
Control? just faceroll like you always do, no changes here.
Then if you dont kill it, next turn it gives you another card lol.
