The biggest thing is that the original panoramas got basic lands when they were popped. If they could just get a basic land type, they would be used very heavily in commander and maybe modern/legacy play. If the new panoramas can get basic land types, they would have to be rare.
I suppose the artifact equipment route is the most on-color, or more so tan the current version. Version 2.0:
NAME 2RWU
Legendary Creature - Human Artificer
At the beginning of your upkeep, Scry X, were X is the number of equipment you control.
:xmana::symr:: Put an artifact equipment token Equipped onto NAME with an equip cost of X, "Equipped creature +X/+X", and “At the beginning of your end step, flip a coin. If you loose the flip, sacrifice this equipment.”
3/3
Now I feel like this is very poorly worded, but better flavorwise.
I don't see the white. Also, why not copy artifacts instead of creatures?
This copies other creatures because I suppose the flavor is that the legend sees another creature, and tries to replicate it but with partial success, thus the coin flip part.
The card is R becuase of the 50/50 chance of a Ball Lightning effect. U for the ability to copy creatures, and making them artifacts. W is related to artifacts in terms of equipment and Esper. While it maybe a stretch, I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility here. However, making the card more "white" would not be a bad thing I think.
This commander is an artifact commander, but it not WUB, it is instead RWU. Sense this is RWU, I had to add a red twist, which is not impossible, far from it actually. Here is my attempt:
NAME 1RWU
Legendary Creature - Human Artificer
Hexproof XR: Put an artifact creature token that’s a copy of target non-legendary creature with the converted mana cost X onto the battlefield. It gains haste and “At the beginning of your end step, flip a coin. If you loose the flip, sacrifice this creature.”
3/3
Any thoughts? I'm worried this might be too wordy.
Whenever I update my sets using the Oracle, I check off all the boxes and start the download, but not all of the sets import, sometimes it doesnt import any of a set, and these sets change after re-running each time. Anyone else have a similar issue?
I cannot find a way to install a version of MTGO that is the old version and not the beta version. if anyone has a link to it i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
I'm toying with something like this too. I'd consider 2 gruul guildgates, in place of a mountain and forest, because hitting your colors is important, and 8 of your rampers only make green (and one takes red to play). You may not need all 12 as well, and if you are going to cut, I think dropping a zhur-tar is right just because of the tougher mana requirement.
i'd take out at least one domri and one xenagos from the main and play 2 chandras. You won't glut on specific planeswalkers, and her zero is great for your deck to get lands or big critters into play. Shooting another mana dork also will be great in the mirror.
The hydra is good, and I am even a fan of the ember swallower, but not in these numbers. I think you need ghor-clan rampager in the deck somewhere. Between letting a mana dork surge through to kill an early planeswalker to letting a big, non-trample guy close out the game, he is relevant at every stage and board state.
3x of ruric thar might be too much. I'd go down to 2, and if you still have room, consider arbor colossus as a one of.
One last option might be hammer of purpheros, because fires is a fun deck style, and it makes late lands relevant. It probably is a sideboard option vs. control.
I put in 2 guildgates, they seem to work so far. I also did add 4 ghor-clan rampagers, took out some of the fatties. This is the list I have now:
I think a major weakness to this deck is early aggression. Magma Jet might be good, but I (again) do not know what to cut, of it it will even be that good.
I made a few additions to the deck, mainly dealing with counter magic and tweaking the sideboard. Also I does not think this deck wants Gruul Guildgate, but I am unsure if I do need it.
Cards I have considered but won't play: Nylea, God of the Hunt: After play testing, it can be hard to get to Devotion 5, and giving all my creatures trample has not proved to be too relevant. Garruk, Caller of Beasts: He is just too expensive, and Domri Rade is cheaper and better.
The sideboard is mostly cards I just threw in. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
In a Commander vacuum, I think it's fine at 4BBGG. But in regular games, I think eight mana is just that slight bit too high to see too much use. At seven mana, it's body isn't too big, and it's still susceptible to counterspells, burn, and such, so I think it could do.
I'll reduce to 7 then. Play testing seems like the only way to really evaluate it though.
I am worried with him coupled with a warth effect, it can turn into a giant mind control. Granted I havent tested it at all but I could see it being bad.
So, something like this?
"Whenever ~ and at least two other creatures attack, ~ gains "Radiance - Target creature and each creature that shares a color with it get +1/+1 and gain First Strike until end of turn"
Cool concepts though
I truly have no idea how to really word it. I took my best guess of how it should be worded. your guess is as good as mine. I fixed the battalion part. Forgot to type it in :/
For those who play commander, the only semi-viable infect commander is Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, which ends up being really good with equipment attached to Skithiryx, which you could find a better commander for that than Skithiryx. I designed this commander to make infect viable in commander games:
3BBGG
Legendary Creature- Zombie Elf
Creatures you control have Infect.
Whenever a creature dies, if it had a -1/-1 counter, return it to the battlefield under your control.
5/5
And a random bonus commander: 3RW
Legendary Creature- Human Soldier
Haste
Batallion, Radiance- Whenever ~ and at least two other creatures attack, target creature and each creature that shares a color with it get +1/+1 and gains First Strike until end of turn.
3/3
