Really excited about the 3 blue ones... Great for my 120 land section.

I disagree with the conclusion of those calculations, particularly "it requires such an awkward deck building restriction that I just don't think it's good." Also "humans tend to be smaller than non-humans" is a true statement in the aggregate, but not particularly relevant when you are looking at a Boros aggro build.

The 10/6 or 9/7 split of humans/non-humans is the typical Boros aggro deck in my experience, and I don't think there's extra effort involved. Sure, maybe you prioritize Spectral Procession or a Legion Warboss if it's a close pick, and maybe Raise the Alarm gets the edge to make your final 23/24 as a card that's generally better in token decks.

The ceiling is absurd if you trigger more than once or if you hit some of the humans that are better than your 2/1 for W (Palace Jailer, Pia and Kiran, etc).

Hmmm I'm torn on this one. We really like the green fatty cheating decks that have a combination of ramp plus cards like See the Unwritten. This is a little of both, but it's likely too narrow. It's definitely not better than the top 5 Simic cards right now.

    2RW - Creature
Whenever a non-Human creature you control attacks, look at the top six cards of your library. You may put a Human creature card from among them onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. It gains indestructible until end of turn. Put the rest of the cards on the bottom of your library in a random order.
    4/4

    ---------

    This looks awesome!

Boros aggro decks have a smattering of human and non-human aggro creatures. There are also a decent number of 1cc-3cc aggro cards that make multiple non-human attackers. The fact that this triggers for every attacker and digs a whopping SIX cards deep seems insane...

To be fair, Krenko is awesome (better than Kraken, sure) and doesn’t compete for the same slot. Other than color, a big difference between those two cards is offensive requirement for making creatures vs defensive flexibility and building an army with a couple turns and a draw spell.

Chasm Skulker was pretty bad for us because It sort of plays out like Browbeat if you don’t have a way to sacrifice it. Wrath decks have ORing effects, and your opponent isn’t going to Wrath to give you tokens. They figure out ways to chump and survive long enough to deal with the card. The only time I really liked Chasm Skulker was in a Twister/Wheel combo deck.

Kraken is medium overall, but I do like the blue token support for Clamp/Opposition.

To clarify, I don’t think anyone is suggesting that you protect a fatty with this creature.

If this creature is good it’s probably in a deck that pressures opponent with cheap creatures, has instant-speed interaction like countermagic and other flash creatures, and/or has hexproof synergies like equipment and counters.

The nice thing about 720 is that it’s not necessarily a this or that with Thrun. I’m on the fence on this one...

We've played him (without Storm support), and he's been mediocre for us. Still, he's in a group of cards that skirts around the 89th-90th blue card range when there's something I want to remove. I think I've come to my senses and will not re-add him despite the temptation.

    Necroooooo Smile

How much does Storm affect Baral's value? Would you run Baral in a large Cube without Storm support?

    Heartless Act - 1B
    Instant
    Choose one—
•Destroy target creature with no counters on it.
•Remove up to three counters from target creature.

    ------

First reaction is that this is similar power level to Go for the Throat.

    Thoughts?

EDIT: lol sorry I posted this in the wrong area. I suck at posting these things...

This seems like a solid card without companion, so we're going to include it on that basis.

I predict that being used as a companion will be rarer than people seem to think. I've never seen a deck that even comes close to having all 1-2cc permanents, and I think that in order to have access to this "8th card always in hand" you're going to have to build a Cube deck that is significantly underpowered compared to the typical deck. Also like many others are saying, it's going to be difficult to even have enough playables for this deck if you try to move in anytime after pack 1.

This card seems sneaky good. It’s a great 4 drop for UG flash and green aggro. Fun combat shenanigans with Experiment One and Pelt Collector.
