    This caught my eye:

Transforming into something other than creatures? Like... Enchantments? (mmm Kuon, Ogre Ascendant)

I would be amazed if we dont see this in Dark ascension.

Wow, I really like the new liliana. My favorite thing about her is that she can go in a more ordinary deck (some sort of aggro or rock deck is where I see her working best) or she can be built around with stuff like vengevine or bloodghast (both rotating out, but well probably get something similiar). I kinda wish her minus ability made target player discard a card though. Not because that would be better or worse, but just because it would make her like an anti-jace beleran.

Some people need to go back and read the basic rulebook. One of the first things it mentions is that magic cards change the rules of the game. That was kinda the big thing about magic as a game that separated from other ones. Magic is a constantly changing game. Almost every block theres some big thing that people lose their crap over and start decrying humanity for. Flip cards, split cards, level up, Planeswalkers. Its ridiculous. Why would anyone who abhors change play a game where the cards change the rules. Magic is not going to become a worse game because wizards does crazy, ballsy stuff. What will make magic worse is wizards making something into some sort of sacred cow, and saying that it can not ever be changed. You may not like the design of something, and thats perfectly fine. But, saying "why would they ever change/do this that's terrible," or "thats not a real magic card thats a card from (enter game x)," is a great way to be made angry. You know what's crazy? Every single set wizards tries to do something thats new and original. Not the new or original that everyone expects, but something genuinly diffrent and fresh, and everytime they do someone goes on the forums to complain that magics dying, or that wizards selling out.

So sundial of the infinite. If I play a spell and it's countered, and I activate sundial while both spells are still on the stack, what happens? How does this card interact with the stack.

I would be really excited to see gravestorm in a set. Cycling also has a lot of synergy with graveyard based strategies. I guess (hope) that has a chance of being in INN. Delve could maybe appear, but If it does it will probably either be limited to a single color or tribe, or be in the second or third set so as to not hose any other mechanics in the set.

god it's been so long time snice ive hurd that argument

I didnt even realize that when I posted it :D. But, when were comparing it to something thats has baneslayers best attributes (huge, gives you tons of life [it cant fly, but vigilance means it can swing every turn anyways]) AND it doesn't die to removal, I think it applys.

    it's awful

get rid of them of you dont plan on playing U/W in older formats
the card just isnt that good more
    banslayer is just better

baneslayer can be killed by removal. I've seen it played in vamps as sb card and it was good there. The card is nearly unkillable if you dont do anything stupid, and it lets you win attrition battles. I can understand not thinkings its good in the meta, but as an individual card it's one of the better equipments ever printed (though obviously to expensive to see play in most formats without mystic, but I really don't think standard is one of those formats).

Omg stoneforge mystics gone. I guess that means equipment is terrible now. Or at least thats the feeling I've been getting from reading comments on the ban. Now this is only my opinion, but batterskull might have just become better. Now by now I don't think it's any surprise, but batterskull is very good. Good enough to warrent paying full cost for it. Honestly the only reason (as far as I can see) that batterskull wasnt wrecking everybody was that everyone had both md and sb artifact hate. You know whats going to go down in numbers now that cawblades banned? Artifact hate. If artifact hate goes down enough it might just be the best thing you can do with five mana. As in better than baneslayer angel and gideon jura. This is only my opinion, but I wont be selling my batterskulls anytime soon (infact i'll probably be buying them since now everyone needs to run more without everyones favorite tutor to search it up).
edit: I don't know the policy on bans, but this might belong in speculation or somewhere. If so can a mod please move it. Im sure someone will start one there if it this ones not moved though. So, I guess it doesn't really matter.

  • posted a message on The Post-Ban meta....
If splinter twin is faster than valakut we'll have a decent meta game with splinter twin, and ub control that beat valakut, aggro decks that beat those decks, and valakut that can beat aggro decks with its sweepers. I dont know about ub tezzeret, but I don't expect much from it without it's card advantage engine. If splinter twin is slower than valakut (I dont know if it is I've never tested that match up) than it will probably be ub, valakut and aggro decks as the meta. I cant see gw vine doing anything if valakut makes a come back. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong though I really like that deck.

Valakut was at the top before anyone realized that jtms plus mystic was the most powerfull thing ever. No reason for it not to be now.

  • posted a message on M12 Speculation... Lotus Petal?
The problem with lotus petal isn't that its too powerfull, but that it's got to much utility. there is no reason for any deck not to run petal as a four of. Control decks would run it, combo decks would run it, and aggro decks would run it. Before long its more expensive and more widely played than jtms is in standard. The other major problem with petal is that it makes nut draws even more nutty. When every single deck has a 1 in whatever chance of doing something that should only happen in vintage then every now and agiain you just flat out lose. with there being nothing you could do about it. That already happens from time to time, and I would rather the chances of it happening not be increased.

    Quote from mxruka
It would be nice to see a new Garruk but, I believe there will be new arts for Garruk, Ablaze and Beleren reprints.

If there would be new Planeswalkers, there would be on a block edition and not on a core set, like they have done always...

They've only made two of the new core sets. This is the first one that has had diffrent walkers (gideon and sorin) so I don't see any reason why they can't just make all new ones.
That being said, Garruks name in japanese changed in m12 (he has two furigama instead of one over the first kanji as was already mentioned). I'm not familiar with japanese, but how do we know that this isn't a change like that one.

Are there any other pages of this kind? If so can't you just test them to see if they follow the same code. If not, or if they don't follow the same code, then it's probably nothing.

Alternate (read as: better) deck name: Ulamogs water park
Edit: I just realized I screwed up the title and put Black Green instead of Blue Green (UG). That was stupid. If anyone can tell me how to change the title, and/or a mod can change it you would be my internet friend forever.

So, I've been messing around with standard decks and what not, and while I usually don't post any of my monstrosities (mono green control!), but this one was just too silly to not share with somebody.

Note: there is a sb, but its very rough. You basicly want another time reversal (for caw blade) some sort of anti-aggro card like sleep or tumble magnet (I was replacing the Ulamogs with stormtide leviathan), and natures claim. Honestly though I dont really know what to take out, so Im leaving the sb off.
The deck works like high tide in legacy only without all the good cards. Basicly you "abuse" everflowing chalice and overgrown battlement by untapping them with reality spasm. The "combo" (I think I'm abusing quotation marks abit) tends to be fairly quick, letting you get an Ulamog out by turn 5 or 6. Not the fastest in world, but you get a whole bunch of counters and draw spells so at least you're "resilent". The decks not exactly "competitive," but you could take down an fnm or a local tournament. I wouldn't take it to anything too competive since its got a lot of variables and its cawblade match up is unfavorable. Plus, its a very hard deck to pilot effectively.
Speaking of match ups I think Ill go over those. Aggros not bad. Your walls stall them and so long as you know what to counter, have a good sb plan, and go off in decent time you'll be fine. Though don't expect to beat their nut draws. Valkut is actually very favorable. Just counter their critical spells, and let cathedral membrane ward off any titans that get through. Cawblade is tough, but it can be won. Use Time reversal to make them discard their finely crafted hand, and stop their hawks. Most importantly IGNORE jace. You can outdraw them 90% of the time, and if they just bounce your walls your in a pretty decent spot. That said, this isnt a favorable match up at all, and will depend completely on if you have a good sb plan.
I know I've bashed on this deck alot, but it does have one thing going for it. Its fun! It is highly interactave, and rewards skillfull play while punishing mistakes. If you do decide you want to play this heres some tips-
-don't play everflowing chalice for less than 2. This isnt a rule or anything. Its actually a very good play if you have another chalice in play. Still, reality spasm only works if the cards your untapping are giving you back more mana than you spent on them. That means you want to concentrate alot of mana in a small number of cards.
-Remember whats instant. While this obviously applys to blue sun's zenith, its very rare that you'll forget thats an instant. Most of the time youll be playing spasm on your main phase, so that you can cast something big off of it. Every now and again though youll need to play it at another time. Remember that you can do that BEFORE you tap your lands to make a worse play.
-Save your spasms. You've only got three. You've got the card draw to get more, but once you use them their gone.
-Don't draw them cards. Pretty obvious, but still time reversal is a hard card to play. Having recurring insight in the same deck only makes it harder. You can't always wait till their at seven cards to play it, but it does help.

Thats all I can think of. If you do decide to play this thing, tell me how it went. Any cards you'de change? Among the stupid decks I've made lately this one is one of my favorites. So I would love to hear any criticisms or comments you might have.
