All cards for use in Warp World should be primarily evaluated for three things (in no particular order):
1. Ramp/acceleration into warp
2. Winning immediately off warp
3. Generating multiple permanents to increase chances of winning off warp
Terastodon does not actually perform any of those three tasks, so I'd suggest it was out of place in Warp World unless you could come up with some sort of combo that made its ability more useful.
How does terastodon not help you immediately win after a warp world?
If you think about it, warp world is very similar to hypergenesis in that you have the higher quality things to drop. Terastodon works in hypergenesis because you can just blow up all their lands, allowing them to do nothing while you swing in with your super team. The same holds for WW. Terastodon wrecks their board position completely post warp. That's why terastodon was in the japanese hypergenesis decks that did well at gp oakland and that's why i think it should be in WW. it does #2 very very well, immediately winning off warp.
What about terastodon? WW into it and blow up their lands or your own? Seemed to work well in the Japanese hypergenesis decks that made T8 at GP Oakland.
Well in response to the OP's question about the Japanese running allies, I do know that the Japanese bought out every copy of Jwari Shapeshifter at GP: Oakland.
As to the debate about whether allies are good, why dont we wait and see what the PTQ brings?
What are your impressions on lodestone golem?
Could he be a sleeper rare for later sets? Or is he good even now?
Seems to me like a very interesting card. If he weren't lightning bolt-able, I'm pretty sure he'd be seeing a lot more play, but I think he is certainly relevant.
Makes a T4 bloodbraid nothing but a 3/2 haste instead of also blowing up a permanent or dropping a thrinax into play. Basically, it slows the opponent down.
Seems like it could be useful in a standard stax-ish build with tectonic edge, everflowing chalice, and even mindlock orb to make fetches useless.
What are your impressions? I feel like lodestone golem has a ton of potential that has yet to be tapped.
not sure why you'd want the bone splinters when you can just put in other removal and then target your own creature. you can just bounce him anyway. i just feel like splinters is such a weak card...
Why not put in tideforce elemental + lotus cobra combo? Have some crabs in play, use the knight, landfall triggers for mill, untapping the elemental, generate U with cobra, use it to untap the knight, use the knight again, etc. Mills them out at once if you have enough crabs in play and lands in your deck.
Then you can SB into bant landfall goodstuff type deck?
Everyone's talking about ramp decks, but i'm thinking, why not put a couple in UWR control as a win-con?
Plus you'll have plenty of mana up to protect it if need be. Especially good game 2 when jund sides out removal.
It seems eldrazi would work well with either emeria or elspeth.
I'm beginning to think that an elspeth monument deck would have to be more focused on midrange since it wont have many sac outs early on.
And mono-white doesn't have much mana accel besides KotWO
Brave the elements seems like a good overrun option though.
I think Sovereigns of Lost Alara just found a new best friend.
can't wait for the new set!
the unearth is just awesome...
