    Disappointed that Chromanticore isn't legendary.

Yes, since the creatures being sac'd is part of the activation cost they will be in the graveyard at the time the ability resolves.

Doesn't matter, targeting happens when you put the ability on the stack (before you pay costs). You won't be able to target things you intend to sac.

Drown in Sorrow is the sauce.

Shame the black mythic is so expensive. Costed way out of being useful in basically anything.

Junk Reanimator is always BWG, but Reanimator decks in general don't need to be in the junk colors. A huge reason why Reanimator decks from the past Innistrad era used Junk colors is because it's main card, Unburial Rites, had a flashback that costed white. A lot of reanimator decks though are just Black/Green, or to a lesser extent BW or Monoblack.

As boomershadow says, most reanimator decks are not GBW. In fact the most common deck people usually think of when you say reanimator is the legacy deck which is UB and doesn't have green OR white. Junk reanimator really was just a product of the standard environment at the time. More traditional reanimation strategies are much more heavily black based.

The name stems from the fact that typical GBW decks don't have a real focus or strategy and are generally piles of random expensive cards that are all individually powerful. A pile of junk if you will.

The name was originally coined by Adrian Sullivan 5-10 years ago in a deck he called PT Junk which was a metagame deck filled with somewhat suspect cards. It ended up performing well because it attacked the meta effectively. The name stuck and is now applied to the wedge at large.

Edric and Skithiryx, Skythiryx's number one problem is that is gases out. With Edric, it will draw all it needs. Add to that the number of UG infect creatures and Giant Growths that Edric can play and it is going to be a quick match.

Omniscience is dominated by Krosan Grip, at best they can get off one sorcery and all their instants before you destroy it. I know because I run douchey Omniscience decks and Krosan Grip gets me every time.

Don't feel bad Krosan Grip gets everyone, every time.

I don't think adding a color to your deck has ever been something to do "willy-nilly." That said, I think it's evident that a lot of people posting here don't have a lot of experience in formats with "bad" mana. I think the Jund Aggro decks that play Experiment One, Ash Zealot and Dreg Mangler are basically dead, but I think Boros still has a lot of life in it and that the opportunity cost to playing four Sacred Foundries, two Temples of Triumph and some number of Plains is, yes, very, very low. You will have to do work to optimize your mana base in a way that just throwing in eight dual lands wasn't work, but I definitely think both Boros and Rakdos aggro are still potentially real decks.

Sure, they might be, but if you are making a splash for another color are you really going to splash one drops? It seems to me like when you have only 4 lands in your deck which could cast a one drop of either color on turn one that you are much less likely to split up your cheaper cards on color. You splash for powerful effects like Boros Charm or Frontline Medic and leave the role-player cards to your primary color.

Even in the fastest of aggro decks your one drops are just curve fillers, they push some damage but generally they are just there for mana efficiency. You would basically play any 2 power creature in the slot, the abilities on the side are not that relevant (with the exception of haste or other ways to make damage stack up faster).

For the same reason Reckless Waif is sideboarded against control. To have a beefy 3/2 when they are on the draw. Sure she was a decent card when flipped but overall she stayed a 1/1 in a format where people spam spells.

I see it in the same way, depending if the meta will take up burn as their removal of choice. Then the satyr becomes a liability.

Except Reckless Waif has never been a sideboard card.

Well, I was really hyped for the fates.
    Was not dissapoint. New commander!

Also, Jackal Pup 2.0 seems very solid. Probably will be a sideboard card, but a very good one at that.

Why would you ever put the satyr in a sideboard? That makes absolutely no sense, you main deck it or your deck doesn't want it. Period. I could see boarding it out maybe in mirrors but that's about it.

    Quote from Serpos of Urug
I'm not saying Satyr is one hundred percent bad, I'm just saying I'd have a tough time justifying it when the opportunity cost to splashing white or black in your aggressive deck is so low.

Is it? In the new format you lose a lot of untapped dual lands which means adding random colors to your aggro deck becomes a legitimate thing to think about carefully. You can't just put whatever color you want in your aggro deck willy-nilly anymore.

Smiter blocks it and you take 4 damage ? Argh !

It's thinking like this that made Wizards not print painlands any more. Taking a bit of damage in order to get a useful effect means very little in the grand scheme of things. Especially when you are a red deck that doesn't really care about it's life total. You are the beatdown, why should you mind taking some damage when you are pushing damage at a faster rate?

meh, seems about right, BUT it will definitely see play in RDW, and a card making it into a standard tier 1 deck seems enough for me - most rares don't manage that...

Yeah, it will definitely be played. You will just never be excited to draw it. It's the sort of card you play because you are obliged to and it will put your win %age up a bit but you wish you could cut it.

Sooo, Jackal Pup is now put to rest next to Savannah Lions. I mean whats a better cheap red creature than Jackal Pup with fire-breathing?

Let's be fair. Jackal Pup was put to rest the day Goblin Guide was printed.
