  • posted a message on Ratchet, Field Medic "converting" multiple times
Say Ratchet, Field Medic makes you gain life with its lifelink ability (so 2 life) and you convert it and return a Claws of Gix (tapped) with its ability. You sacrifice the claw to itself and Ratched, Rescue Racer converts back again, then the claw makes you gain 1 life, and the Ratched once again converts and gets the claw back.

Is the part of "This ability triggers only once each turn" still remembered by the converted card ? so you cant repeat this process over and over (for as long as you have mana to do so).

6 mana is quite a lot.

Nice effects, but damn 6 mana to then ramp further is kind of a hard ask.

Could simply say exile a permanent and then put it in your hand.

Would be shorter and kinda simpler.

Doesnt even need to reanimate it, just get it from the hand instant speed.

    Copper Gnomes
Master Transmuter *thats especially nasty bouncing it and replaying it over and over.

9 mana is a lot, but its well worth cheating in play, as you get the 3x edict effect, which is really nice, even if they can remove it.

Kuldotha Forgemaster can tutor it right out of the deck, oh yea this will be quite a thing in Commander.

Bunch of nasty cards that actually do something outside of the precon in formats like vintage and legacy.

So thats good, some powerful stuff.

  • posted a message on Volrath's Shapeshifter and once per turn effects
If Volrath's Shapeshifter is a copy of say a Lurrus of the Dream-Den (or Serra Paragon, or Muldrotha, the Gravetide) and then you cast something from the graveyard with the effect and it then becomes a copy of something else, just to switch back to the former Lurrus, can you then cast another card ? As the instance of the effect is a "new" one ?

    https://www.mtgstocks.com/analytics/expectedvalue

Check the "estimated value" of each sealed box or booster packs, and thats basically your indicator what money value you can expect, and depending on what they charge you, thats your best bet to see whats worth your "investment".

If your money is very low, the Master sets offer at least some big hits for your money, Modern Horizon was particularly good for that, Double Masters is fine too.

But if you just want some actual cards for your decks, buying singles is the way to go, so you really only pay for the cards you need and nothing else extra.

Art is nice, cards are overall trash value, basically 1 card of money and some random inserts.

Not enough to fill a Commander deck, so thats a bit of a problem if someone wants to have a "Ork" deck.

I am convinced this is a social experiment, if they will find people that will buy literally anything.

So far they succeeded to sell literally anything to somebody that will gobble it up.

At some point, people have to realize they are mouth feed garbage, their sense of taste is so mutilated that some people even WELCOME this proxy cards, like they provide them some form of value ... i cannot understand these people, they are the definition of brain washed ...

    Quote from rowanalpha »

None of those things are “greed”. The company isn’t laying people off to pad it’s profit margins or cutting cost with polluting manufacturing methods or selling a necessity like food/housing/healthcare at a price that people who need those things to survive cannot afford it.

Selling a luxury item at a price that people are willing to pay for that item (maybe not you, but some people are) isn’t greed, its the reason the company exists. Its no different than selling a draft booster box for 120, except that the number of people willing to pay the price point for the product is significantly smaller.

    Abusing your customers is greed.

This is the very definition of greed.

intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food.
"mercenaries who had allowed greed to overtake their principles"

There are legit people addicted to packs, especially rich people that need a new "high" to open something special and continue to do so, for them its simply gambling, its exactly the same as a addicted gambler that will sell everything and steal from anybody just to get another shot.

WotC is in a abusive relationship with these people, thats why gambling and especially drugs absolutely need regulation and save guards, which dont really exist at all for WotC and their crack (as in gambling in a lot of countries you are limited how much money you can lose per hour, and similar things to protect the people that become victims).

A company is obvisiously going to make money, however, there are bad business practices and abusing customers for profit, which very obviously are not justified at all, by simply saying "Well its a company, it has to make a profit".

WotC is milking its customers for decades, and they increasingly provide less for more money, and push more product on people to milk even more money out of them.
The entire ideology movement is to emotional abuse people into support for a product they would otherwise not support, so WotC is using any angle possible to find some reason to push a product on people and a bunch of these reasons are bad business practices.

Unfair business practices encompass fraud, misrepresentation, and oppressive or unconscionable acts or practices by business, often against consumers, and are prohibited by law in many countries.

Just like video game companies pushing loot boxes and the like, at best WotC is walking the edge of what they are allowed to do in some countries laws, questionable in some other areas and basically just a law suit away from being put to trial.

At this point, this anti-customer behavior has to be questioned and it becomes more and more blatantly obvious to more people.

Retro frame "foil" looks a lot better, as its actual "gold".

The contrast of the text is better on the new ones, as they have more simplistic text boxes.

The new frame gold cards are just "yellow" and dont really pop, some are even darker than the non-foil one and just look awful.

Retro frame foils are quite bright, not as good as the real old ones, but certainly something to appreciate (and people certainly do).

If people play with new frame cards and only have a single one in retro it looks "weird" to them, Magic made sure that people from different ages have very different ideas of whats their "normal".

  • posted a message on How to get rid of odors on cards?
Get a inner sleeve that can close "air tight" (there are ones where you can close the opening).

Seal the card in there permanently and it will be vacuum tight.

Chances are thats a guaranteed way they wont smell, at least it contains it forever.
