I've sooooooooooooooo totally been promoting this card in 5cc and two scoops since it was spoiled. I love this thing. love, love, love.
I think thats its just such a HEAVY HEAVY thing to set up, especially adding the rings, that it might not be as worth it as a 6 mana creature. Its versatile, yes, but it basically has 2 mana echo.
Magister Sphinx could come down for a possible 15 on turn 5 or you could hit it late game to bump your own life back up. Obvious drawback is you might have to take a few hits or help you opponent once in awhile.
I dont think going all artifact has any advantages over normal creatures. The only reason might be for sharuum, but he is a 4 of, so the amount of games hes gonna make an influence, compared to the cost of sacrificing playing normal creatures which are better beatsticks then their artifact counterparts, makes it not worth it.
I just think it might be a waste but hey I'm probably wrong. I think a 4/4 flyer might be better because of evasion but of course what good is a 4/4 flyer if it can be chumped by a 1/1 fae rogue. I'll test it out to see which is better but I think Primal Command is good because you can reshuffle the library and graveyard and lifegain is always good. Plus if you feel like you need to search for a creature you can hard cast (like owl or primus)
Edit: I like the idea of Magister Sphinx.
4/4 flyer might be better than 5/5 trampler: But 6/6 trampler+5/5 trampler+2 non creature permanents dead>4/4 flyer+4/4 flyer
With path to exile kithkin has become stronger than ever, path to exile is the cheapest removal in the format at only 1 mana, and at what price, one land? This card should make goldmeadow harrier obsolete now, and i expect to see kithkin in the finals in the upcoming 5K because of its speed and ability to control the board.
The problem with Woodfall Primus though would be that you dont' get to hit creatures with it. It's two non-creature permanent and that is could only when it's a Planeswalker (like Garruk or Ajani), Lands (FCC), Enchantment (BB), or artifacts (name a good one cause I can't think of any -_-). However I'm thinking I might change up and add Primal Command...
But it doesnt matter, it still swings for 6 (more than dragon) and puts a 5/5 into play (stronger than dragon), killing 2 permanents is just an added bonus even though a lot of the time itll just be targeting lands.
fairly certain that the diving top is not standard legal. also, i think woodfall primus is better than broodmate because you destroy 2 permanents and are left with a 5/5 trample instead of a 4/4 flying.
Good idea, woodfall primus seems strictly better than broodmate. Also, this seems like its gonna dwell into casual, hence i posted some great casual additions to the deck, I know top isnt standard legal.:ugh:
This deck has a lot of potential to be a great casual deck that you can add duels and fetches to to make it great. I am thinking green and blue would be the best colors and keeping it to 2 colors helps your manabase tremendously.
I think solid cards to building the deck around are 4x raid, 4x godsire, 4x broodmate, 4x divining top, 4x ponder/brainstorm, and probably 2-3 ehchantment tutors (the 1 that costs 1 blue mana/mystical tutor?).Other cards that I would use would be counters such as mana leak (will be easier to resolve turn 2, and it is near guaranteed they can't pay 3 for the first 5 turns of the game). Progenitus is another great option that always keeps coming back into your deck, to keep that creature count up and increasing the chance of raid hitting creatures. He also is a guaranteed 10 damage and isn't gonna die to anything but a counterspell. I'm not sold on the 3 blue requirement for cryptic command without adding some money to the manabase. Force of will would be a great addition (casual lol), as it makes good use of multiple color creatures in your hand that you can't play anyways. Also, now that I think about it, creatures with trample will be needed because by the turns when u get raid out on the board, they will have plenty of blockers.
My main reason for not adding in red is because I think with 8-12 counters it is enough to stop their more important offense if you use them wisely. You don't need to use those 8 spots for pyroclasm and such when counterspell clears creatures and instants/sorceries/enchantments/what have you. I'm gonna proxy a decklist later today and try it out, ill post my list, but it'll probably look something like 22 lands, 4 enchantments, 4 artifacts, 12-16 instants, 16-20 creatures.
It is basically the common rant about any creature removal, except for PtE is gonna infest the metagame. There is some sort of creature removal from every color, and you arent gonna get something that doesnt die to at least one of them unless you somehow resolve a progenitus. Get over it.
