I have been running this for the last few days. I used to have -1 elctrolyze -3 abbot +4 steppe lynx but i wanted to try a less oops i win kind of playing and adopt a more card advantage focused route.

I am toying with adding some Cryptics mb but idk. Also thinking about soulfire grandmaster but I'm not sure if she will help me win games like all my other creatures. thoughts?

As for the green splash, I think you might as well go RUG if you want nacatl/mandrills/goyf. having 4 colors in the age of burn is not something I am willing to do for a few beaters.

Hey guys/gals. Glad to see the thread is still going strong. I haven't posted here in a few months, but have no fear I'm still playing a WUR Delver (Jeskai Prowess Unblockable) style deck. It doesn't play out exactly like the typical WUR Delver list, but it's still technically a jeskai delver deck. I won't go into detail about the deck here since it has it's own primer in the creation section and I don't want to thread jack.

I read back a few pages and I like where most of you have went with the deck. I wanted to see if you have tested Abbot of Keral Keep or had any interest in the card. In my testing he has been extremely good. I need to mention that my build plays slightly less counter magic than a typical WUR Delver list and is constructed to capitalize on the prowess mechanic so this could be the reasoning it is performing well in my build. However, I wanted to see what you guys/gals thought about the card in a Jeskai Tempo style deck. I know from the past that there are a lot of great minds in this forum and there seems to be some new great minds in here as well, so I thought I would ask how you all felt about the new cards.

In addition, has anyone thought about or tested a more all in burn/aggro style build utilizing Day's Undoing. The power level of the card is obvious, but the actual play-ability of the card is tough to wrap my head around. I haven't had a chance to actually test the card, but would love to hear any early feedback from anyone who has actually tested with it.

I'm glad to see some familiar names (Phillip aka ToxicJoker, Ronyx, AshtonKutcher, etc) are still going strong with WUR Delver. I know a lot of people went to the dark side with that stinky Grixis Delver build and/or the lesser evil of the Temur Delver deck, but I knew a few brave souls would stay jeskai strong :).

    Jeskai for Life!

I have been running 3 abbots and have mixed feelings about him. If he was a 2/2 it would be much easier to get around bolt and get in some damage. However, if you do play the card off the top and he gets bolted that's just fine. For the most part he is just another way get a card up on the opponent + an ok beater. He feels clunky but has game ending power if you are lucky. He's too good to take out right away but not good enough to be excited about him.

Could be kinda fun with lord of Atlantis or any other lords for that matter

It's tough to have a midrange deck without the best creature color and without the best control color

i have to go with 5c. this allows geist and rhino to be in the build. Not many fair decks can hand noble->geist->rhino->tribal/burn. those cards are hard to deal with and pump out serious damage. 5c also gives you access to just about anything you want in your sb. Naya is a pretty strong build but doesn't command answers ASAP like 5c.

voice of resurgence has also been an all star for me. I have been playing alot of twin lately and he has made me alot of tokens

I agree he'd be not a very fair card if he had haste but no more so than snappy. This card seems like it would be most at home in a deck that runs cheap discard and flip walkers. In general more proactive cards that are not creatures.

    Actually maybe hellspark elemental?

Maybe land destruction with some ramp?

He's definitely an interesting guy, but I can't help but wonder if he's more often than not outclassed by more appealing options for the role of turn 3-4+ value play.

I agree here. If he had haste like BBE, he'd be an all star. As of now I'd rather play other cards

    Lantern thinks smalldudes are dead.

    I'm hoping otheriwse

Looking to shave off 2 Figures of Destiny and a Grim Lavamancer for Kytheon Hero of Akros, Goblin Bushwhacker and some third utility weenie as soon as I can find one. Hopefully Zendikar 2.0 will deliver on that.

Lightning Axe is a concession to the wave of x/5s that have appeared in Modern during the few months I wasn't paying attention regarding Khans block's impact on the format, and I'd rather discard a card than cast Roast during my main or pay 4 life for Dismember. Lightning Axe might as well read (and I am slightly aping an explanation Patrick Chapin once made about how to look at casting Force of Will) "R, discard a card: add BBB to your mana pool. This mana can only be spent to cast cards named Dismember." Obviously ignoring the major differences between 5 damage and -5/-5, but who'd be so anal as to nitpick that?

The pile can be argued to be a pale imitation of a Collected Company pile, and in a way you'd be right. Proclamation of Rebirth definitely gets pushed in by much the same SB hate as CoCo not to mention blowing in the face of Scoozes, and Ranger of Eos doesn't cheat things in, but on the other hand Ranger and Proc present three for ones in terms of CA over CoCo's +2 CA. Ranger and Proc also have more agency in terms of what you get with them, so there's no real pressing need to overload on good stuff like with CoCo.

Sideboard's the usual disorganized mess of things I just feel compelled to jam in. Rather new to it this time around are the Mirrodin footballs, Engineered Explosives and Ratchet Bomb. I figured a split between the two would compromise between their strengths and weaknesses:
-unless I toss a green source in, EE is kinda not as good as it could be but at the same time is still fast and can dispatch stuff all the way up to Kor Firewalkers which I hear are pretty popular these days.
-RB is slow, but it also doesn't have an upper limit to its ticking, and so it has that fringe utility for dealing with things right outside EE's range if I don't die immediately.

    So yeah.
I think running 4 Boros Charms is a good place to be these days, but at the same time Bolt and Helix don't handle Siege Rhinos and Tasigurs and Draft Common Fish all too well without getting card disadvantageous. If you go under these dudes, you have to find an edge that isn't fighting a fair game on the battlefield because they -will- brickwall you. It's brickwalled small Zoo according to Lantern, and our guys aren't exactly as swole as Nacatl and Friends. I think Kytheon might be one step towards such a plan, but that's just my usual theorycrafting on the matter.

I used to play RW boat brew back in the day and i really want this sort of deck to make a comeback for nostalgia. Back then I played knight of the white orchid which is most likely a little weak for modern but these others may not be.

burrenton forge-tender a nice card against all the burn running around with works with your game plan.

mogg fanatic I know it was nurfed by the combat rules but still something to think about.

student of warfare pretty much a beefier/cheaper fod but only pumps at sorcery speed.

Also i know vexing devil is a pretty hated on card but tutoring up 2 of those and dropping them same turn is pretty rough.

there is also the idea that splashing green for wild nacatl would be pretty sweet

Neat targeting restriction, and flavorful for lorwyn elves, but this didn't need to be rare. And kind of a flavor fail that it isn't equal p/t itself. Man, I would have loved this as a 2/2 for 1BB or a 3/3 for 2BB.

Could be that he/she is jealous and doesn't think others should have an uneven p/t since he/she does? I think most elves in the set are uneven.

As for the card itself... I'm bummed. Yet another modern unplayable.
