Decks that can use Squee really don't need it. Same idea with how I cut Purphoros: he needs tokens, but tokens doesn't need him. Squee needs discard outlets like Survival of the Fittest, but Survival doesn't need Squee at all.

I don't agree with this. Porforus is still busted for us. Tokens are great, but Purphoris is the best card in a token deck. And Squee is still broken with Survival, Fauna Shaman and random stuff like Skullclamp.

I do think it depends on how you draft and how big your cube is. The smaller your cube is the better and the more cards you see more during the draft the better. In a 720 Cube Squee might just end up being a recurrable 1/1 for 2R, which is very crappy. In our cube (8 player Rochester) he is always part of some broken combo (or ends up in a sideboard). We don't see it as a red card, but as a 0CC colourless card.

I could be wrong without testing, but unless this card is better than the moxes, lotus, or library, I won't have a problem playing this in my cube. My gut says It will be about the same power level as mind twist / balance. Completely capable of winning a game on its own, Too strong for most non-powered cubes, but requires other cards to set up a complete blowout. I think it is a little weaker than either of these cards, but has the consistency of always being in your hand. I also think that this card is secretly a red card that you can happen to play in some blue decks.

The main draw of the card is the companionship, not the fork effect. Don't get me wrong, a 3/2 flash forker is nice, but it definetely not insanely powerfull like Balance of Mind Twist. Can it be? Yes sure when the suns align and you fork that Fiery Confluence.

The brokenness of the card is not in its power, it is in the fact that is a card that is always in your hand and never takes a spot in your deck. How to evaluate this will take some time to figure our.

I think Companion is quite broken in Cube. Every half decent card with companion is cubable. A Grizzly Bear that is always in my hand? A four mana Counterspell? A vanilla 6/6 for 5GG? Any direct damage spell? All of these would be shoe ins in almost any deck that could play them.

Question is how goofd is quite broken compared to other broken cube cards? Good enough to be included in 360? Yes sure. Good enough to be banned by some cube builders? Possibly.

Might be a surprise to a lot of people, but it often ended up being a 3/3 or a 4/4. The dream scenario of playing it as a late game finisher happens a lot less. But the aggresive 3/3 or 4/4 play might be slightlt sub par on paper, but in practice it feels ok. Mind you, not super duper great, but decent.

It might be a slightly bit better in powered but not much. Because realistically you will only get the perfect artifact.dec once in a while.

Thsi card has seen quite a bit of play in our cube. It is quite versatile and all its abilities are relevant at times. Being an X costed artifact has its disadvantages, but decks that want to Tinker or do graveyard shenenigans have other creatures to pick up.

Not a must play, but a very decent performer if you just put it in decks.

This card is tough for me to evaluate. It's definitely a solid card and extremely fun, but my intuition tells me it's a miss for small and mid-sized cubes.

There are some very powerful interactions (IE Goblin bombardment, sneak attack) and it provides an interesting form of protection for your other creatures. It's also a 4/4 flyer which is a solid base rate.

However, it's a 4 mana creature that the vast majority of the time, gets no value through all forms of removal.. It also needs support from other cards to be great. A 4 mana creature that has these two properties, needs to be completely busted to be worth playing.

That being said, It's a very fun card.. worth including if it's close.

It is a 4/4 flyer for 2BB. This is a pretty reasonable floor, especially for black.

I am all for the old Terminate test, but on a 4 drop with good stats like this, it feels acceptable to fail.

I wish this guy had 4 toughness, but it's not a deal breaker. We run several X/1 aggro dudes at 2 mana.

    4 toughness? A 3/4 for 1R? With a nice adventure bonus?

If you cut a lot of archetypes and narrower interaction, don't you end up with more good stuff midrange decks?
More creature stand offs and a lot more generic decks?

I would Rochester draft and have people draft two decks. That way you don't have to change much to the cube itself.

Probably not as it is a multi coloured card. If it were a 2/2 then I would reconsider.

Is there any update? I can't help but notice I'm still able to post,is the site slowly winding down or have we been granted a reprieve?

I think you missed the 'July' part and read 'June'. I know I did at first Wink

What is the advantage for the new owners to shut it down and keep as an archive? Why not just let it continue somewhere else if it doesn't fit your business model? There is no value in having this up in archive mode only for the new owners...

Maybe the new owners just need the right arguments to let us make a start somewhere else?

I am a bit unsure about your calculations about Krenko. The fact that the tokens do not attack right away is a big disadvantage. Especially as Rabblemaster (and Krenko will end up eating removal pretty quickly in a lot of games. Calculating the goldfish damage value over six turns is a metric, but it is not the most realistic metric I think.

To me Krenko's big advantage i the fact that he has synergies with a lot of power boosting cards. But does that offset the fact that he is quite a bit slower in most games ( where you never get 4 , 5 or 6 hits with him and his buddies.

This seems pretty sweet in a Superfriends-style deck, no? 5-colour green with tons of Walkers?
