I am going back to playing Magic because of EDH/Commander. Good move, Wizards.

Force of Nature is pretty iconic. The card itself isn't strong by today's standards, but flavor-wise, it's iconic green.

Let's say I and my opponent are both down to 2 life.
    It's the opponent's turn.
My opponent attacks with a Black Knight and a Zombie Outlander.
If I Harm's Way the First Strike damage from the Black Knight, do I immediately win?
Or will the Zombie Outlander still be able to deal regular damage to me?

Note: a friend says I can't Harm's Way the damage from the Black Knight in the first place. I say I can because Harm's Way does not target. He says "choosing a source of damage is targetting, so I can't target the Black Knight". Could someone please clarify? Thanks!

Noted. If I float at least 3 mana, that should be enough to turn the symbiote into an elf, recast it, and have 1 mana left over after each repetition.
    Thanks for the replies!

    On Discard vs Counters:

Don't forget that with Discard spells like Thoughtseize, Duress and Cabal Therapy, you get a PEEK at what the opponent has in his hand, letting you plan your plays in the subsequent turns.

Hey guys, i've been following along, lurking the thread almost daily and wanted to see what people think about Qasali Pridemage vs. Tidehollow Sculler.

    1) Pridemage pumps the exalted and is also affected by Wilt Leaf Liege 100%. The pridemage also gets us through BB, artifacts, Anthems and Seismic Assault.

    2) Now the Tidehollow Sculler does give significant disruption which is always good, there's no condition or situation where the Sculler doesn't hit full force.

Let me know what you guys think is better. I've got a decklist put together and that's the only thing I'm questioning.

Put the Tidehollow Scullers main and the Pridemages in the sideboard. Tidehollow Sculler will hit full force every time, while Pridemages are situational but will rock against the right kinds of decks.

I think this deck does fine without accel.

If you're dropping a first turn heights you aren't playing noble. And if you are, I'd prefer a 2nd turn preeminent captain over Veteran swordsmith, and then a 3rd turn CoTW.

Agreed. Hierarch would be better in a deck that is green-centered, and if you have 3-drop bombs.

Also, your soldiers will be better attacking en masse, so you wouldn't be able to maximize the exalted ability on the Noble Hierarch.

Just curious in what direction would you take the GWlist, would you maintain Manamorphose like I did or take them out ?

Manamorphose out. You can't consistently rely on manamorphose to fix your mana. If it's the last card in your hand, you'll often draw into a land. And there are much, much better cards to put in the 2-drop slot.

I would splash green for Dauntless Escorts, (pre-rotation) Gaddock Teeg and Naturalize in the sideboard. Not sure what else, though. You don't really need mana acceleration in this deck.

White Knight and Knight of the Meadowgrain don't offer synergy to the soldier theme. If you have to play non-soldiers, you may want to throw a Mirror Entity or two in the deck.

elspeth is definitely main boarded in this deck. anyone else feel the same?

Yes. She has good synergy with the deck. She's your anti-mass removal plan. And she nicely rounds out your offensive capabilities with evasion. Protecting her is easier with your access to vigilance. I just don't see why not.

Excellent. That means I only need 1 other creature in play aside from the three mentioned to give me potentially unlimited mana.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    Hi All,

The ability on Wirewood Symbiote says: "Return an Elf you control to its owner's hand: Untap target creature. Play this ability only once each turn".

    Here's the scenario:
I have Mirror Entity, Priest of Titania and a bunch of other elves in play.

I float lots of mana using Priest of Titania. I pump all my creatures using Mirror Entity, leaving 1 green mana floating. (the Wirewood Symbiote becomes an Elf) Then I activate Wirewood Symbiote's ability, untapping Priest of Titania and returning Wirewood Symbiote to my hand.

Question: If I play Wirewood Symbiote again from my hand, can I use its untap ability again?

Does it "forget" that its ability has already been used when it jumps back to my hand and played again? Thanks in advance.

Isn't Darksteel Colossus an extended card? Is it being brought back in M10?
