That is true. The power level is not even close to Path but, the versatility in a color without Oblivion Ring is good. It's certainly better than Beast Within.
I'm still certain this card is on the power level of Oblivion Ring, and clearly testable in 360 lists.
And we get another finicky, yet combo-able piece, Song of the Dryad. Put it on your Vault then use your Nissa to untap it and of course Acidic Slime to destroy the Song of the Dryad.
Did anyone mention how FUN this card can be? Think of the blowouts... This + Kiki-Jiki on board... or with/against any of the following: Time Walk, Demonic Tutor, Fireblast!
Costing it any better would have a noticeable effect on Legacy, I assume Wizards tries to only print a a very limited number of cards to shake up Legacy per year.
I got to cast both FoF and DtT today in the same deck. Both were fantastic. Neither is strictly better, it just depends on what your deck is trying to do and what the game state is.
I resolved a FoF that would have been much worse if it were Dig, and vise versa. Either way I would recommend cubing both.
Birthing Pod loves Living Death. Any discard mechanic (there are a whole bunch of cube worthy ones). Deathrite Shaman can remove dudes from your opponent's yard making things more profitable for you. The list goes on.
There are so many ways to break this card. You really don't have to try very hard to support it. Just piling a bunch of ETB creatures into your deck is good enough most of the time. As long as you get back more than your opponent (more creatures or more effects), it's worth the cost. And if you put any effort at all into building around it, this card typically wins you the game if it resolves. And by build around, I really just mean favor exile/pseudo removal effects during the draft and focus on graveyard synergies while deck building.
Yep, everything here. I find drafting clone effects and 187 creatures like Shriekmaw are the best etb.
I added a few morphs since we'll be getting a few more. So exciting! Wonder how many we'll get and if cube will ever reach enough to confuse even the cube owners quite consistently.

I'm not sold on it, but it certainly is worth testing. Has been getting some extreme support recently so I could see it getting some spotlight.

Haha I kid, though possible, it's quite silly.

Edit: LSV tweeted a vintage deck with 3x DtT. https://twitter.com/lsv/status/522236080104685569/photo/1
