I was thinking of making a website that would allow trades, like ebay, but with trading (create 'have' lists, and search through peoples 'want' lists).
Does something like this exist?
If not, would people use it if I decided to make it?
Thank you everyone, for the tips. An old friend had a cube..Im a bit intimidated about starting one for myself. Maybe the idea of banning decks makes sense...this way, if a deck becomes too powerful, were forced to come up with a new idea, which lowers the power level automatically.
Well anyway, I have a few ideas to try out. Thanks again for all the advice.
So a few friends and I play casually. We started out years back, and have slowly been updating our legacy decks. Our only rule was, don't build a deck that counters the deck that beat yours. Instead, we came up with new decks, or found cards that were better.
At this point in time, my friend and I essentially built our decks into Miracle and Reanimator, or very similar type decks.
I don't want to be there though ... there are SO many fun cards out there. Yes, we could just not use those decks.. But it would be hard to go back and buy cards for decks that are clearly not in the same league.
Is there a format out there..or a specific way to avoid this issue? Thanks
I have been interested in reanimator since its inception, having luckily picked up my 4 entombs at $12 a piece right before the unbanning.
I have a budget reanimator (no dual lands) and have been trying to revise it to get a little more consistent results when trying to place creatures in the graveyard.
I looked at dredge and saw that it might possibly fit in a deck like this. Considering most reanimator decks have x4exhume+x4reanimate, and only x4 entomb, i thought throwing in a dredging Darkblast might help. To counteract the loss of spells, i threw in Noxious Revival.
The little guys are meant to delay until Vigor can come out and until you can collect the pariah. Then its just good times. If you manage to get a crypt rats out, you can see where the fun begins. Of course, this probably means urborg for land and a bit more swamps....but of course, you can see some of my problems.
So, any ideas as to how to make this deck a bit more competitive?
Wow, I feel dumb. Yeah NO needs a green critter. Maybe if you add Painter's Servant.
Vigor just doesn't seem to bring enough strengths to the table for it to ever be useful in a competitive environment. Green and black have some huge creatures that could be in this deck. Goyf, Stalker, Doran with the white splash, and plenty of others.
If you're looking for a critter to enchant with Coalition Flag you could use Slippery Bogle but the best target would probably be Thrun, the Last Troll...but shrouding anything nullifies Coalition Flag's effects, so that's a pretty sad bombo.
yeah, i wrote my last post in a hurry before running out the door so i didnt think that one through....coalition flag definitely doesnt work with shroud..
however
as far as i know/knew, you can equip lightning greaves to a target after they have been equipped with an aura/enchantment/etc, and still have the effect stay on. Therefore the lightning greaves+coalition flag combo should still work.
Back to Vigor. Of course you can bring out any other super strong green creature other than Vigor, but its STILL a 6/6 trample....and its not so much your kill condition as it is your kill condition supplement. Your will-o'-the-wisp or birds of paradise, mother of runes, or royal assassin will be your kill condition.
Remember, if you get a willothewisp with pariah, you can't take physical damage as long as you can regenerate. meaning, you can just let any attack go through without worrying about blocking.
also, natural order was an after thought after the initial deck build....butttt if im putting it in, i might as well try and fit in progenitus like many of you are suggesting ... its just an amazing card that would be great to kill with. However, as someone pointed out, then you simply dont get the fun vigor boost....but i suppose this is the "developing competitive" forum...so i might as well make it more competitive.
well, vampiric tutor is banned. Props on having 4,though. Crypt rats is really funny, but I'm tempted by swarmyard with it.
why natural order? It can only find a green creature which is your vigor and bop. I might think about running something else like eladamri's call or similar.
oh oooops @ vampiric tutor. Not sure what i was thinking on that one. for now, ill replace with diabolic tutor
onto natural order. I was considering finding a weak green card with shroud to add it in. It helps to get out vigor a lot easier, which is essential to win the game. I can also sacrifice a birds to bring it out if need be. With only 2 vigors in the deck right now, finding vigor and getting it out is always annoying.
However, with the tutors out, natural order might have a spot now.
Hey there. This is a deck i've been working on lately. It uses a lot of great protection cards and then Vigor's ability to protect you even further, and boost up your weenie's (with flying) and then allow you to have a huge arsenal of super strong creatures to attack, all while not being able to take damage thanks to pariah.
Pariah works on willowisp very well, and also synergizes with any other card once mother of runes is out. Coalition flag ensures your vigor is not going to be removed from game, as do the lightning greaves. (btw, lightning greaves + coalition flag =' one amazing combo...that is coalition flag and anything with shroud)
Anyway, this deck is great fun when it works. Just wanted some suggestions. I have been wanting to get some Natural Orders and add them to this deck, but would like some input as to how.
Sure enough, despite the odds, opened it up and found a foil Arid Mesa! Was pretty ecstatic!
Thanks for the links
I just remember having a special place in my heart for Vesuvan Doppleganger.
I know Shivan Dragon was another...and probably wrath of god and nevinyrral's disk

thanks.
So, I've been trying to come up with a deck where it fits, and would really appreciate some input.
4 Birds of Paradise
2 Crypt Rats
2 Deadly Recluse
4 Fauna Shaman
4 Mother of Runes
2 Royal Assassin

for example: they play isochron sceptor and path of exile with it, does iona stop that combo in its tracks?
