Most likely, he was referring to the fact that if the original Pack Rat is no longer on the battlefield, it becomes relevant that token copies of it still have the ability (because you will still be able to activate it additional times using one of the token copies.)
If you give the creature protection from artifacts, yes. Protection stops both equipping and enchanting (and fortifying, though that's more of a corner case).
10/1/2012 - If Pack Rat leaves the battlefield before its activated ability resolves, the token will still enter the battlefield as a copy of Pack Rat, using Pack Rat’s copiable values from when it was last on the battlefield.
But what is the actual difference? If, as I showed, you can simply float the Mana, what is the actual difference between activating it as a mana ability and activating it as a mana ability only at any time you could play an Instant?
Normally, you can activate mana abilities whenever you're asked to pay a cost, including during the casting, activation, and resolution of abilities and spells. You can't use LED's ability at these times.
this has been on my mind for a while now. What is the difference color when it comes to a Doomgape and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Are they both considered multi-colored creatures?
Yup. Hybrid mana symbols are both of their colors.
Example - If I have a Tablet of the Guilds out in play (my chosen colors are black and green, and I would play Doomgape or Jarad, would I gain two life either of them because they are considered multi-colored creatures?
Everything you've stated is correct, including what the other player said. However, when the Phoenix's ability resolves, if it's not in the graveyard, it won't be returned to your hand.
Just because a deck is fringe does not mean it is not a "real deck", as you are so fond of saying. There are numerous decks that fall into the same category as DS, does that make them not "real decks?" If what you say is true, there must not be many "real decks" in Legacy.
"Real deck" is a colloquialism (hyperbole, even). It's referring to decks that see near-zero amounts of play, not to decks that don't exist. (Also, even speaking as a DS player, I have to agree that the deck has basically died out.)
305.7. If an effect sets a land's subtype to one or more of the basic land types, the land no longer has its old land type. It loses all abilities generated from its rules text and its old land types, and it gains the appropriate mana ability for each new basic land type.
Although the basic land type doesn't actually change, Blood Moon still sets the Madblind Mountain's subtype to "Mountain," and so it will have its abilities removed.
The trigger rules apply to both Competitive and Professional RELs (the entirety of a GP). They don't apply to Regular REL events where Wizards wants to create a more welcoming environment for players, especially newer players.
The sentence in the CR is referring to the printed wording of cards - Wizards won't use the word "dies" describing noncreatures in the initial wording of cards (e.g. Flight Spellbomb). The word "dies" may still end up referring to a noncreature permanent in corner cases like this.
In what context? Most Constructed environments, which don't need their removal to act as an additional win condition, will prefer the lower cost of Dead Weight, while Limited environments will generally prefer the greater board impact of Stab Wound.
So can you actually cascade into it and choose whatever X you want? :0
Nyet. X must be 0 if you're casting Repeal for free. As such, you must choose a target with converted mana cost 0 if you wish to cast it. See bimmerbot's post above.
(Sidenote: Do not take what MODO does as canon. As you've found, it does have bugs.)
Ah, fair enough. Thanks
Not really. From the card's rulings:
Unless you were referring to something else?
Normally, you can activate mana abilities whenever you're asked to pay a cost, including during the casting, activation, and resolution of abilities and spells. You can't use LED's ability at these times.
Yes, each would give you 2 life.

And you are in the right place
