    Unglued
    Unhinged

    Banned Decks:
*Any deck that can feasibly force your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn. (The word force here is important. Mind Bomb is still legal, unless combined with Mindslaver ) (NOTE: Remove-From-Hand effects count as discarding)
*Any deck that can feasibly win on the first turn. (i.e. no matter who goes first, your deck cannot goldfish before the start of their second turn)

    The Next Tournament
The next tournament starts right now and will be tabulated on the closing day. PM your submissions to me by Saturday, September 22 at midnight PST and results will be posted soon thereafter.

THE NEXT TOURNAMENT IS A SPECIAL FORMAT
The first letters of the names of the cards you use must be the first three letters of one of the names of the cards you use. For example: Black Lotus, Lightning Bolt, Anurid Scavenger. The cards start B L A, and Black Lotus starts BLA.
This is kind of a weird format, so I'll only run it one week.

If you have any questions about this format, about the rules, or simply want to see some statistics about the game, visit 3cb.DratItAll.com The Embarrassingly Crappy Looking Out of Date 3CB page!
On the page, you'll find links to all the 3CB's. I won't be updating the all-time rankings anymore though.

    Also, everyone, Listen Up:
    New format for suggesting corrections:

    Player#2's NUMBER - Player Name2 - Decklist 2
    Current Match Score
    Suggested Match Score

    Explain Why

I'd sincerely appreciate all suggestions being in that format. Having the decklist number of what I'm correcting in the post makes things 100% easier for me. Thanks.

    ANYway,

Feel free to discuss this week's and next week's 3CB in this thread and post any questions you may have! Good Luck!

I only looked at my matches this time, but

    #14 - Jack Power
Remove Water on the Knee: Collect $1000 fee!
    Unmask
    Sickening Shoal
    Dryad Arbor

    #16 - Goblinboy
    Not Really Trying
    Mishra's Factory
    Mox Jet
    Sphere of Resistance

Should be 4-1 in his favor instead of 2-2. If he goes first, he can Unmask my Mox.

    1 - Death_By_Beebles
    Tony Stark.dec
    Mishra's Workshop
    Wheel of Torture
    Steel Golem
Yep, this deck is pretty good.

    2 - Amadi
Why isn't trinisphere on banned list?
    Trinisphere
    Mishra's Workshop
    Steel Golem
Trinisphere isn't that great in a format where Workshop is the best card.

    3 - Tlaon
    Iron Man
    Mishra's Workshop
    Steel Golem
    Wheel of Torture
Yep, this deck is pretty good.

    4 - WhammWhamme
    No Name
    City of Brass
    Granger Guildmage
    Sea's Claim
City of Brass in a deck that intends to use mana over and over doesn't seem like a great idea. Undiscovered Paradise probably would have done better.

    5 - Knowledge
    MEH.dec (loses to Discard)
    Mishra's Workshop
    Ensnaring Bridge
    Scalding Tongs
Yep, this deck is pretty good.

    6 - SumPhatGuy
    CRUSH SMASH!!.dec
    Maze of Ith
    Hollow Trees
    Crush of Wurms
Maze was pretty much a superstar this round. It was also pretty funny how many times Crush was actually flashed back. I don't remember that happening very often the last time I saw storage land/Crush.

    7 - Jack Power
    There's no need to fear...
    Scrubland
    Encroach
    Isamaru, Hound of Konda
The Encroach deck everybody knew SOMEONE was going to play! Turned out to be a pretty good idea.

    8 - Wrath_of_DoG
    Nothing but a hound dog
    Karakas
    Isamaru, Hound of Konda
    Swords to Plowshares
Honestly I'm not sure why this did so poorly this week. Probably all the land control and an overall lower level of creatures.

    9 - Charm_Master3125
Have no fear, Underdog is here!
    Isamaru, Hound of Konda
    Karakas
    Leyline of Singularity
    See above

    10 - krizzlybear
    Underdog.dec
    Karakas
    Isamaru, Hound of Konda
    Leyline of Singularity
See above, also spooky name similarities

    11 - Caldera42
    Vindicate.dec
    Mishra's Factory
    Orzhov Basilica
    Vindicate
Vindicate turned out to be a lot better than random creature kill this week, with plenty of lands and artifacts around. Good call.

    12 - Dusk_
    This is my Boomstick
    Sheltered Valley
    Mishra's Factory
    Powder Keg
Keg had kind of a hard time getting going for some reason. Still a solid list though.

    13 - chaosjuggler
    Slow Rakdos
    Lotus Bloom
    Lotus Bloom
    Rakdos the Defiler
Sadly, without the first-turn play, lots of decks have time to prepare for Rakdos and deal with him.

    14 - andelijah
No Lotus? Fine. I'll go after the lands instead.
    Taiga
    Durkwood Baloth
    Raze
This one surprised the hell out of me. Baloth is a great threat to combine with Raze, since it allows you to skirt around StP and the like.

    15 - Goblinboy
    It's Been A While
    City of Traitors
    Isochron Scepter
    Raise the Alarm
I don't know WHY I expected a less Workshop-heavy environment, but that's what I built this for. Not a single Treetop Village! This deck does beat TET, by the way.

    16 - magicianofthought
A Team Draw 7 Production: Stan Lee
    Smokestack
Gods’ Eye, Gate to the Reikai
    Mishra's Workshop
This deck is pretty much a mise deck. The opponent can just not play anything, and if you want your win condition you have to waste all your other stuff. This deck can only win games against decks that lose to a vanilla 1/1, which isn't a lot (or anything in this week).

    17 - silasw
    Kryptonasite
    Mishra's Workshop
    Sphere of Resistance
    Epochrasite
This deck surprised me with how well it did, but it shouldn't have. The wins were 100% Sphere. Epochrasite was good at pulling out some draws versus Isamaru decks, but other than that (and versus the LED deck, which this lost to anyway) it was a dumb 1/1. I like the possibilities of the guy in this format, but it'd be nice to pair him with a sacrifice outlet.

    18 - Frooog
    Tabernacle is Bad Vs. Lands
    Lion's Eye Diamond
    Arrogant Wurm
    Basking Rootwalla
I'm surprised this deck didn't do very well. Like it expected, very few Tabernacles. Maybe Nether Spirit would have been better this week, given the lack of goes-to-the-graveyard type removal. The Rootwalla didn't do much except slightly speed up the clock sometimes.

    19 - ikkleste
Hulk Smash!? No, Gorrila Crack!! (ewww >.< Gorrila crack)
    Simian Spirit Guide
    Crack the Earth
    Dryad Arbor
The Spirit Guide would have been much much better as a Mox. As is, once you lay the Arbor you can't Crack or you lose your only win condition. Like the Smokestack deck, this can only actually win games if the opponent loses to a vanilla 1/1.

    20 - Username
A Team Draw 7 Production: Stan Lee
    Smokestack
Gods' Eye, Gate to the Reikai
    Mishra's Workshop
    See #16

    21 - Chimpanzee
    He's Got Wurms
    Maze of Ith
    Hollow Trees
    Crush of Wurms
    See #6

    22 - ThunderHog
    Pwning Scepter!!!
    City of Traitors
    Isochron Scepter
    Lightning Helix
Wow, four of the same deck. Helix was a slightly better choice than Raise the Alarm (harumph!). The deck was very much hurt by the high amount of land and artifact destruction this week.

    23 - Halinn
Thunder and lightning, very very frightening
    City of Traitors
    Isochron Scepter
    Lightning Helix
    See Above

    24 - death by aggro
    Da Boomstick
    City of Traitors
    Isochron Scepter
    Lightning Helix
    See Above

    25 - Niv-Mizzet_Rulez!
I'm going to beat you with a stick.

lol, really? .. If all of the artifacts cast for :symr:, sure, I guess it does still work. If not, I think you're mistaken Grin

They get the red from the land and two green from the Vineyard.

Sorry if this has been asked. Other then post status, what do you gain from a large amount of posts?

Personally I would have used Squee, Goblin Nabob over Darksteel Colossus in the Llanowar Mentor deck, because it returns during upkeep.

    Is that relevant? :p

Not really, also one of the goals of the deck was to cast colossus.

Proposal for a theme week: start at 5 life. Ban all spells that target players and all creatures that have haste (and of course all turn 1 wins).

    Quote from Death_By_Beebles
*Sigh* I can't ever seem to do this right. Maybe you should do it instead :p (Just kidding, of course)

Don't worry, if I was doing it there would be just as many errors :p

    Corrections time!

    #1 vs #8
    Is: 3-3
    Should be: 2-2
Whichever one goes first has the first chance to play Vineyard. But if they do, the other person gets to swing first and will win. So, nobody plays Vineyard and the game ties.

    #2 and #6 vs #5
    Is: 3-3
    Should be: 4-1 #5 favor
If #2 goes first, he Unmasks the Gargadon and ties when the Crack makes him sac his Arbor. If #5 goes first, Gargadon hits turn 11 with 12 life left and he wins.

    #3 vs #14
    Is: 0-6 #14 favor
    Should be: 2-2
He doesn't play Isamaru or lets it die. If I activate Factory, he StPs it. Draw. Or he plays Isamaru, pays for it, never attacks, and if I swing with Factory he blocks.

    #3 vs #16
    Is: 6-0 #3 favor
    Should be: 2-2
Vindicate targets the Karakas. If Isamaru swings, Factory activates, pumps itself, blocks. If Factory swings, Isamaru blocks it.

    #4 vs #14
    Is: 0-6 #14 favor
    Should be: 2-2
He doesn't play Thallid, then he StPs my Factory if I activate it.

    #5 vs #9
    Is: 6-0 #5 favor
    Should be: 2-2
If #5 suspends Gargadon, #9 plays Island/Flying Men. If #5 plays Crack, 9 sacs the Flying Men and waits for the Gargadon to hit play, then Chains it, where it can't be played again (no Mountain). If he does not play Crack, this happens:
    5: Mountain, Gargadon (10)
    9: Island, Flying Men
    5: Gargadon 9
    9: Swing (20-19)
    (continue)
    5: Gargadon 1
    9: Swing (20-11)
5: Gargadon comes into play, is Chained, Gargadon 10.
    9: Swing (20-10)
5: Gargadon 9, Crack (sac Mountain, Island), Gargadon 8
    9: Swing (20-9)
    (continue)
    5: Gargadon 1
    9: Swing (20-2)
5: Gargadon in play, swings (11-2)
    9: Swing (11-1)
    5: Swing (2-1)
    9: Swing (win)
So, #5 will play the Crack before all this happens and the game will tie.

    #5 vs #10
    Is: 4-1 #10 favor
    Should be: 6-0 #10 favor
    If #5 goes first,
    5: Mountain, Gargadon 10
    10: Paradise, Hatchling 4
    5: Crack, Gargadon 8
    10: Hatchling 3
    5: Gargadon 7
    10: Hatchling 2
    5: Gargadon 6
    10: Hatchling 1
    5: Gargadon 5
    10: Hatchling swing (20-17)
    5: Gargadon 4
    10: Hatchling swing (20-14)
    5: Gargadon 3
    10: Hatchling swing (20-11)
    5: Gargadon 2
    10: Swing (20-8)
    5: Gargadon 1
    10: Swing (20-5)
    5: Gargadon swing (11-5)
    10: Swing (11-2)
    5: Gargadon swing (2-2)
    10: Swing (win)

    #5 vs #12 and #15
    Is: 2-2
    Should be: 4-1 #12 favor
If #12 goes first, he drops Tongs first. If 5 suspends Gargadon, 12 can drop Bridge and win (sacs Workshop to Crack). If 5 does not suspend Gargadon and Cracks right away, 12 can sac Workshop and win off of Tongs (can't suspend Gargadon, no Mountain).

    #5 vs #18
    Is: 6-0 #5 favor
    Should be: 3-3
    If #18 goes first,
    18: Forest, Mentor
5: If he plays Crack, Forest is sacced and Mentor swings for the win. So he suspends Gargadon 10
    18: Make a token
    5: Crack, (sac Forest/Mounta, Gargadon 8)
18: Make a token (use other token for mana)
This continues until Gargadon hits. Then, 18 will have enough tokens to make a new one each turn to block Gargadon, and swing with the rest. If Gargadon does not swing, 18 makes enough tokens for Colossus and wins.

    #16 vs #18
    Is: 3-3
    Should be: 4-1 #16 favor
    If #18 goes first,
    18: Forest, Mentor
    16: Factory
    18: Token
    16: Basilica
    18: Token #2
    16: Factory, Vindicate the Mentor.
Two tokens versus a Factory. If Factory swings, it's blocked and killed. If tokens swing, they're blocked and killed.

    I don't think I win anymore Frown

Edit: Dusk posted while I was calculating

    Edit:
    Quote from Tlaon
If anyone had played Magus of the Moon, they would have almost swept this. Does anyone feel like calculating the score of a two-card deck with just Magus and Lotus?

    Lotus/Treasure Hunter/Magus goes:

    6-6-6-4-2-3-3-6-6-2-6-4-6-6-3-6-6-0 = 78

which would have won. Also that Llanowar Mentor deck is super super cool.

Oops, found the error. I reported #9 vs #1/#16 as 6-0 in favor of #1/#16 when it was already that way. So, #1/#16 ended up getting 12 points for that match (since the grid wasn't redone, and the changes were just added on). #1/#16 should have 96 points.

What does it matter? You don't have enough mana to use the ability. In that deck he's simply a 1/1 that fulfills the "suspend" requirement.
